Jeanie Bottle 581
I wonder why the concept of “child-bearing hips” even exists in genie culture.
EDIT: Jeanie’s bracers had mysteriously disappeared in the original version of the page. They have now returned.

Well Jean you better hope motherhood is in your near future cause 2 genies decided it is.
Well, it really isn’t. Considering that the Blue Djinn had separated from her and had their own body at the time of the mating ritual. And how the mating mark is only on the Blue Djinn and not on Jeannie.
Though I am pretty sure that Guano’s Mother won’t be bothered by such minor details since Jeannie’s body has now been acceptable for baby genie making. Even this can be overcome by a over eager Grandmother to be!
She really reminds me of Shampoo’s Great Grandmother Cologne, from Ranma 1/2 for some reason. Doesn’t she?
Jeannie and the Blue Djinn swapped bodies in https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-563, so Jeannie currently does have the mating mark.
Are you sure? Because in this episode the Baby Blue Djinn has it. Unless that is some other mark that we have not seen or heard of yet. https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-567
Hey does Jean ponytail look like an anime character which one I wonder like DBZ?
I see Sonic
ever see a rooster comb just before they peck your eyes out.
Made me think of Ryoko from Tenchi, TBH
Lol! Yes it does! Or Washu’s.
Did Guano’s mom just get younger all of the sudden?
Since her appearance seems to have changed from the previous comic, to a much younger looking one in panels 2 and 3.
Genies dont really age they change there bodies with magic so she would look older Kazom told this to Jean he can appear any age he wants to as long as it is female per the bottle rules.
I’ll get the giant mallets and K.O. Guamo’s mama and Alya.
Where did the bracer-thing on Jean’s left arm go?
They are not on either arm. CD must have forgotten them. I expect a correction soon.
Got it Guano Jr or Jean Jr which is better for the future baby?
Hmm.. we do know that the genie population is very low. They probably want to have more genies … I wonder what stops them.
Also I love the way Jeannies hair rises up
@Robert:Frames 2&3: “certinly” should be “certainly”.
Fixed the typos. Dunno how I missed these…
heh-heh: “Well developed genie”==capable of generous breastfeeding.
===
But seriously: How did it come to pass that genies do not listen to Jeanie, ever?
I have to wonder if there is some cosmic justice in operation here. Jean became Jeanie because he had a thing for a TV show character. Did he also have a thing for not listening to other people? Is she now getting a heaping helping of not being listened to?
Note on “Well developed”: but human breasts are not udders. All you need is a nipple and a tiny bit of cushion to support the milk glands, which produce on demand with very little storage. Last I heard, the size of human breasts is actually a bit of conundrum, but the current thinking is that they’re like peacock tails: uselessly elaborate decorations that signal fitness to potential mates. In short: women have breasts because men like them.
I know the story. It have to do with the fact that we are bipedal. The Ass is a universal sex symbol for all animals (our heart symbol also comes from the ass). We see this in a hind’s “mirror” when she lift her tail and present it for the buck and we see it very prominently with the baboons.
But unlike the animals, humans show their stomach / front side, when they come as we only walk on two legs, and thus to keep the male gaze, a fake ass was developed on the females chest.
We notice from closeups that it is practically impossible to distinguish between a pair of breast and a buttocks.
@Alsstir: That’s one of the stories I’ve run across, yes, first time back in the ’60s, from Desmond Morris’ The Naked Ape, I think. They also signal reproductive health–which seems to be how they’re being regarded here. But ultimately, that still comes back to "women have boobs because men like them."
Well of course. But thou think that’s unfair? Men are the ones who have to compete for the women. It doesn’t matter which species we are talking about, it is always always the males that have to compete for the females, who are always always the choosers. And sometimes like which spiders and snakes, the males risk being eaten by the female. Luckily in most species the male are the most physically imposing
@Alastir: “Unfair”? No, not at all; that’s just the way things are. Evolution is a competitive process; almost by definition, there are winners and losers.
I too love the way Jeanie’s ponytail fluffs when she gets fondled. Is this the first time someone has done that to her?
I hope that Jeanie’s floof indicates an unexpected (and unwanted under the circumstances) thrill that could be pleasurable under different circumstances. I hope she eventually gets to find out.
And then Jeanie, in a moment of unthinking desperation, cries out “I only want to have my Master’s baby!”
Cue Neil’s hair floofing in the middle of a meeting on heat transfer.
I think the last words Jean thought he’d hear growing up a man is that he’d make a great mother with nice child bearing hips
Now that was unexpected. To be examined by your Mother-in-law and even fondled too. Well, someone ask the question about nobody hearing Jeanie and also when Jeanie was a guy, he always looked at girl like she was a piece of meat. So I guess what Jeanie is getting right now is poetic Justus that she getting what she put out in the past and now it coming back to her in spades. I wonder what response that Jeanie would get if she said that she had sex with her Master in an attempt to break the obsession of her being a mother to Guano baby. I can see Jeanie trying to do that to escape from this situation and causing another problem too.
There was a series of SF novels, The Long Earth, by Stephen Baxter and the late Terry Pratchett.
There’s an endless chain of parallel Earths with (usually) only minor differences between adjacent ones — though the changes add up if you go far enough. A few people can “Step” between them and nearly anyone can with the aid of an easy-to-build gadget.
Human evolution has produced large brains but we’ve reached a limit in that it’s difficult and painful for an infant’s skull to pass through mom’s hips. Out in the Long Earth we run into a humanoid species which got around the problem. Females can Step into the next world, leaving the baby behind. They walk a few paces and then return for the child. Pregnancy in a higher-dimension!
Considering that Djinn can turn into smoke from the waist down, hip size ought to be irrelevant. (Not to mention that Djinn don’t seen to have large brains anyway.)
The other thing to consider is that there’s no reason to believe that genie “pregnancy” is remotely the same as human pregnancy. They aren’t even all humanoid to begin with. So all of this stuff the MIL is saying seems rather bizarre to me. Maybe she’s just intentionally messing with Jeanie? hehe
Not necessarily. Genie culture and human culture are not exactly separated. We’ve had multiple instances of humans becoming genies and vice versa, so it makes perfectly sense that human beauty standards or “childbearing” criteria are being used by genies, be it because they used to be humans or because they picked it up. After all, it is scientifically proven that the criteria what makes a potential partner desirable is largely dependent on the culture and time you grew up in.
Yeah. Minor difference. Until you make one step and there is no Earth. Ok, it WAS minor difference in some asteroid trajectory, but still.
It’s notable that due to humans not having the ability to Step the evolution found way to pack more intelligence into same volume. That humanoid species who used Stepping for birth was not more intelligent than humans … if as much. But their heads were bigger.
Well, the restriction of having to pass the baby through the restrictions in the pelvic structure resulted in human babies being less developed at birth, requiring more and longer care. Being able to sidestep the actual process of birth would probably manifest itself in that universe’s babies being more developed at birth; there wouldn’t be a significant evolutionary pressure for them to become more intelligent once the race had subjugated their environment.
@Mark: ” (Not to mention that Djinn don’t seen to have large brains anyway.)” *snrk* No kidding. I think that’s why they need Masters.
And why Neil would be such a good one for Jeanie if he’d stop being such a wimpy nerd and pick up his damn slack.
Gods, Jeanie left Baby Blue in an unsuspecting orphanage or creche or whatever. Neil and Jeanie need to start being a team and getting ready to fight him. It’s kinda getting to not be funny anymore.
Is Atty a nickname? panel three.
Yes,”Atty” is a nick. Go back a strip or two: “Atawin! Get over here and meet your son’s wife!”
Actually, it’d be a nickname for Lord Guano, whose given name is Alwatwat. As seen here: https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-552
@Robert. Thanks for that. Can you add “Alwatwat” and “Atty” to Guano’s cast description? And add a cast pic for his wife with her name, please?
@50srefugee, I think we already have a cast pic and description for Atty’s wife, it’s Jeanie. I think the unknown genie checking out Jeanie is Atty’s mother making her Jeanie’s mother-in-law.
@SaylorA: I want a cast pic of “the unknown genie checking out Jeanie.” And I want the attached note to say who she is. (I think you’re right about her being Guano’s Mother.) I’m getting tired of trying to keep track here.
@50srefugee: Guano’s cast description has been updated.
I see where Guano got his lack of respecting personal space sense from… Hopefully Jean doesn’t smack her too hard.
lol You know, I think I now know where we get the “selective hearing” from Guano. XD
Yes, selective hearing, and the impulsiveness it stems from, seems to be a normal genie trait.
I wonder if Jeanie’s tendency to turn guys who bother her into girls, even her own master, results from the same lack of privacy sense that allows these two genies to fondle Jeanie so casually.
I am wondering why she says “grandchild”. Most prospective grandmothers are more ambitious and wants more than just one.
If Jeanie were to go threw with this deal, she would only be allowed to have one child and so the perspective Mother-in-law knows that. That why she only talking about one grandchild, because, she knows that all she going to get out of this deal. However, she definitely wants her one grandchild and she has made that perfectly clear.
First of all, where does it say that? Second Jeanie is not one to follow the rules. I am sure she will end up giving birth to twins.
Genie children only come from Hubun Jadids, and those are quite rare. So it seems likely that one-child families are the norm in the genie world. The population is otherwise maintained through their exceptionally long lives and the occasional barren totem being discovered, like what happened to Jeanie.
Then it’s a foregone conclusion that Jeanie is going to have a child, courtesy of the Hubun Jadid that Blue used to bond with Guano. I wonder how long the gestation period is going to be, considering a genie’s long life.
Logic would dictate that it a done deal now and that Jeanie will become a mother. The binding of Jeanie to Guano with the Hubun Jadids to create a Genie Baby could be absolute and non reversable at this point. But, we also know that Jeanie is going to be looking for a loop hole to escape from her destiny of becoming mother of Guano Baby. So at this point, it still might be some possible that Jeanie might not become the mother of Guano Baby, but, possibility is less and less likely now. But chances of Jeanie becoming a mother are definitely getting to be more and more likely the outcome of what going to happen.
But, her pregnancy is not a foregone conclusion is it? Nor is her “marriage” to Guano. The Blue Djinn separated from Jeannie, and had their own body at the time that they had the “ceremony” with Guano.
Remember that the blue Djinn was the one with the mating mark on them, not Jeannie. So Jeannie is in the clear on this.
So… Guano’s “baby” habab dathingamajingy thing is now in the body of a very young Blue Djinn. It will be some time before they are able to give birth.
Which makes for some awkward conversations…
Guano: But she was a lot older when we…!
Police officers: …
Judge: …
Prosecutor: …
That was not a mating mark, it was a slave mark. Jeanie’s spirit was in a duplicate body when she whacked Blue with the Quat Euzma. The resulting BOOM caused Jeanie and Blue to switch bodies, placing Blue in the powerless duplicate and Jeanie back in her original body… which is the body that Blue mated with Guano in using the Hubun Jadid.
Oh… You are right. I had totally forgot about that slave mark thing.
So Jeannie is screwed.
“Atty” might be the future grandpa’s nickname, because IIRC the Blue Djinn was calling Guano “Alwatwat” which means bat in Arabic. We might be seeing the “Father-in-law” soon. Poor Jean.
Atty is a nickname for Guano, otherwise why would she be concerned about his taste? Little does she know… bwahahahaha
@mike: “atty” is short for “Atawin”, as shown in the last strip[580]. Is that known to be another name for Guano?
Why would she be concerned about her mate’s taste, then?
Straight from CD’s mouth: “Guano’s mother calls his “Atty”.” The T’s come from AlwaTwaT.
I’m guessing that whole “threat to genie-dom” problem has gone away?
It’s possible, perhaps even likely, that MIL here isn’t privy to those details about Jeanie. She just knows about Guano being bonded to her.
Jean seems to be missing a good chunk of her right arm in the forth panel.
It’s behind her back. Or, more accurately, behind her “nice child-bearing hips”. hehe
If Jean is fated to have a genie child by the hubun jadid, I think she wouldn’t give it up without a fight. I wonder if genies have divorce lawyers…
This is basically the peaking order in the Genie World and who has authority and/or how things work in the Genie Realm or at least the way it suppose to woke, because, there are some glitches, hiccups, etc.
I think there fewer than two hundred Genie total. So there probably won’t be any divorce lawyers. Then inside this structure are six to eight Genie Lords to administer edits to the rest of the Genie. These are Haji edits that he put out there to keep some kind of order in the Genie Realm. So all we have to work with, is a Haji edits as to the way things are going to be done and all the other Genie are obligated to follow Haji edits of suffer the consequences, if they don’t do what Haji says.
But Jeannie isn’t really fated to. Remember, the Blue Djinn split from her before they did that mating ritual with Guano. And they had their own body. Which had the mark of mating on it, when they were found by the guards after Jeannie babified them.
So Jeannie should be free of everything. No baby, no marriage, no anything. Well, except for the hwole genderswapped genie thing that is.
Never mind. I was wrong! Oops!
Why back in “I Dream of Las Vegas” #264 Araceli called Guano her uncle. Therefor he has to have either a brother or a sister. Mom had to have at least two children, That makes our Jeanie Araceli’s aunt.
Araceli, be nice to your aunt Jeanie. She has a delicate condition. She just doesn’t know it yet.
Between the very long life of Genie in the thousand of years and fact that we only have around 200 or so. Most of the Genie are probably related to each third or forth, but, probably not more that fifth cousins in relationship to each other. With the exception of Jeanie and other mortals that were turned into Genie. To keep such small number of Genie at that level, we can’t have Genie procreating all the time, so as a general rule, this process has to be control or limited. There will be time when there are babies being born and other time where there might be two or more being born or rare occasions. There is also the possibility that the last Genie Baby to be born was 50 or even 100 years or longer since the last Genie baby was born too. If that the case, then one of the female genie giving birth to a baby genie is going to be big news in the genie world.
Could you cite your cannon reference on that population figure and the estimate that the last genie born was 50 years ago.
Well, know how many Jeanie type Genie’s there are, because, it tell us at this location and it is 112 Genies.
https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-432
They also tell us that almost 56 of those 112 Genie are less that three hundred year old. Araceli would be in that less than three hundred year old Genie, along with Rouyaa and Eve Brown would probably be in that group too. If we assume that true, then probably, there over hundred year old. If that true, then most of that 56 number of Genie are less than 300 year old, but, more than100 years. So let say that maybe 16 out of that 50 were either born or became Genie like Jeanie became Genie less than a hundred years ago. We also know that they need 5 to 8 Genie to be replacement, because, of death or being disbanded and thrown out as a Genie Realm in an eighty year period or World War II period and afterward.
Now we know that this covers most of the Genie that are out there that are Genie’s. We know that the Genie Lords aren’t counted in that group and there was at least 10 people talking to each other there, so we could have another 10 to 12 Genie Lords, then we have Haji the Master Genie. Lahab was also identified as Jann Genie of another group of Genie and I think that she was even identified as the queen of them too, but, there was never a very large number of them either, like maybe between 10 to 20 range. At this location she is only identified as a Jann Genie.
https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-471
We know that there are probably Genie in Haji castle that aren’t being group with the 112 Genie number too, so say, there could be between 30 to 40 there and counting the Guards, there could be another 30 to 40 genie. Then we have the Blue Djinn and his faction of Genie which could be 10 to 20 Genie’s. There could be other Genie out there that we don’t know about and that haven’t been revealed yet, but of the one we know about, 200 Genie’s would be a ball park figure of how many are out there. There should not be much less than 200 Genie’s out and there could be up to 250 Genie. Now we have a rough idea of how many Genie we have or at least a ball park number of how many Genies we have out there.
Because, of the long life of a Genie and life expectancy, we maybe have 15 to 20 Genie could have been born in the last 100 years or so. Now we go to the last post below where both Alya and Jeanie are identified as the youngest Genie in the entire Genie Realm by Lahab. Did she mean the oldest adult Genie that are the youngest Genie currently available to her or the youngest Genie in the Genie Realm period, as in there isn’t Genie younger than them and Alya was born a Genie too and she look like she at least 20 Year old also. If Alya is the second youngest Genie after Jeanie, then there was a 20 year time frame where there weren’t any Genie Babies at all.
https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-443
That should answer both of your question.
Actually, I posted a more thorough response a few days ago, but, I don’t know happen to it. But, as to the Genie Population numbers. here is one location.
https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-432
It talking about Jeanie type of Genie out in the world and it say there is 112 of them. That not counting the Genie in Haji Palace, Genie Lords, Haji, Lahab also was a queen of the Jenn Genie, it was a small group of Genie too, then the Blue Djinn and group of Genie’s and Guards may also be Genie’s too. So we have more that 112 number of Genie that we know of and add onto that of about 90 more Genie for 200 number to maybe 250 number of Genie’s. That give us a Rough ball park figure for the number of Genie’s in the would.
Thanks, I forgot about that conversation. Still, there was a vault full of Hubun Jadid. Where do those come from, and if there is a population problem wouldn’t that be an incentive to use them?
I don’t have the answer to that question. The 112 Genie mentioned are obviously the main group of Genie out there. But, we still have splinter groups and rogue Genie groups out there too. That why I threw out the 200 to 250 number as a rough approximation of how Genie are out there. But, also mentions that over half of them are older than 300 year old. So we have only about 56 Genies being born in the last three hundred years or so. And Araceli would be one of the ones born in that three hundred year period too and she about 120 or so herself.
https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-442
With this link, Lahab identifies both Jeanie and Alya as the two youngest Genie’s. Did she mean the two youngest Adult Genie’s or the youngest Genie, because, there aren’t younger Genie at any age as in there aren’t any Baby Genie or children Genie running around. None of the Genie appear to have tail or any children attached to them. Jeanie been a Genie for about one year and Alya was born a Genie and may be 15 to 20 years old. If this logic hold up, then we haven’t had a Genie birth or Genie baby in that time frame. I don’t have the answer to the question that I am asking. When was the last Genie baby birthed? Don’t know!
https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-443
oops, wrong link in the last post, this is the right one.
https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-443
Also in this link:
https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-443
Lahab identifies both Jeanie and Alya as the two youngest Genie’s in the Genie Realm. Did she mean of all the Adult Population or of the entire population of Genie including the baby Genie’s. If it the second one, Jeanie been a Genie of about a year now and Alya was born a Genie maybe 15 or 20 Years ago. So there may not have been a Genie Baby in 20 years or so. I don’t know if that so, I am just the one asking the question.
What we do know is there are 112 Genie out there, but, it not the total number of Genie, but, they are the largest block of Genie that we know about. Other Genie’s that aren’t part of that block are:
1. Genies in Haji Palace maybe 30 to 40 Genie.
2. The Genies Lords maybe 10 to 12 Genies.
3. The Blue Djinn and his faction of Genie’s of between 5 to 10 or maybe even 20 Genies.
4. Lahab was queen of the Jinn Genie’s a small number 5 to 10 or maybe even 20 Genies.
5. Those Guards may be Genies too and there probably 30 to 40 of them too.
6. If you want to count the unborn Genie too, there look to be about 20 to 40 of them too.
7. We still some rogue genie out or other kind of genie that we don’t know about yet, so there might be 30 or 40 them too.
But, counting the entire Genie population, we definitely have fewer than 300 Genie born or unborn. Of the Genie that are living right now, the vast majority are over 300 years old.
> Araceli, be nice to your aunt Jeanie.
Oh that is a deliciousness that I had not realized. HAHAHA, I can’t wait for her to find out.
Considering that a large portion of humans who find genie’s bottles, lamps, and other totems should be men, it would be easy to guess what at least one of their wishes might be. So maybe Shantae isn’t a one-off…
> a large portion of humans who find genie’s bottles, lamps, and other totems should be men
Why?
pheromones
In many pre-industrial societies, the men tend to be the explorers, hunters, warriors, traders. They’re the ones most likely to find treasures like totems. ranging as they do over fresh ground.
I also think there are some personality traits that might suggest pairing male Masters with female wish-granters.
And certainly, the male-female pair bond can be very strong.
But that’s just my guess–this is not something I can remember C.D. addressing in the story.
I wonder when that pair-bond thing will smack Jeanie. She’s doing a real good job of being dense in that regard, and when it does happen it will probably be epic.
Unless I am missing something, Jeannine is not married, nor pregnant. Since the Blue Djinn split from her, and had their own body, before the mating ritual with Guano.
Not to mention the mating mark was on the Blue Djinn, and not on Jeannie.
How long before anyone else notices this. Especially these genies…
I believe you’re mistaken. When Jeanie defeated the Blue Djinn, she did so by swapping bodies with her. Thus Jeanie has inherited everything the Blue Djinn had, including her magical bonds and whatever exactly happens when a Hubun Jadid is used.
Am I? Yeah, I guess they did swap bodies back then. Then what is this mark that the Baby Blue Djinn has? I thought it was the mating mark. https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-567
Nevermind. I just found out that it is a slave mark that the Blue Djinn put on Jeannie way back when. I was wrong! Oops!
That kinda confused me for a bit. So, I guess Jeannie is screwed then…
