A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
Hmmm… I just hope this isn’t the result of an ‘official’ 3 wishes. We don’t really have much information when the big 3 are cast, except that a Jeanie can’t reverse it as long as the totem is held by the master… I’m just wondering who benefits from this… besides Rodge.
Also emoji bad! Bad English! (But I forgive it as Natalie is too cute)
That’s my theory. Perhaps not in a nice way. Caley is entitled to 3 wishes. We know Caley doesn’t really like Rodge (heart break emoji here if I can) so wishing he had some reason to not baby sit her might just be enough. Or wishing him away from her life in general. Araceli does have the knowledge and doesn’t seem to mind her next ‘hopeful master’ having another form. She’s the one link between all of them besides Jean.
Though this is ignoring the pseudo Jean. We don’t know for sure if that was Jean entranced or if that was the doppelgänger. I think it was Jean though, since pseudo Jean was surprised to see Jean.
Considering how Agent Anderson’s transformation was just “business as usual” the government must be aware that aliens, magic and/or magical beings exist. With the surveillance society all the magic going on would of certainly drawn the attention of the Fed’s. Incidents like Jean’s and Elizabeth’s magic battle on the beach, all the smart phone video’s, witnesses and CCTV around and the physical effects of invisible un-photographable beings in battle not drawing attention and investigation? Aliens, magic, proof of the theory that reality is a computer simulation, governments wouldn’t freak out? Or perhaps they’ve already made a deal, agreement or treaty with these supernatural beings.
There must be government organizations, or sections of the ABC agencies observing this stuff, like X-files or Warehouse 13. Or a version of MIB or the Federal Agency of Supernatural Investigation, NSA? Anderson could be not of a high enough security clearance to know of these paranormal agencies. They could be just observing Anderson, Jean and Neil without their knowledge.
The Blue Jinn may of caused the Natalie transformation and personality change as part of some grand scheme we can’t guess at, or just likes to mess with people.
I think for most people knowing who Natalie really is would be a turn off, unless the Blue Jinn may of caused Rog to be mind controlled.
No the government doesn’t need to be aware. Remember there is magic at work here. It’s entirely possible Agent Anderson will have hard time convincing government there is some problem because her file says she always was woman. Or, maybe government is aware stuff like that is happening from time to time but no investigation they done yet brought any result.
Although I suspect there will need to be some genie who would do clean up after some wishes in either case …
Also, you forgot DGB, paranormal division of FBI. Considering we already had Grace here …
Remember that when Anderson was first changed into a woman, she wasn’t the one who first noticed the change but rather her partner. So I think the government would have to know about magic and other weirdness going on.
She may not be ABLE to get pregnant because the time of the moon. Although I wouldn’t rely on it, considering it’s possible someone set her up exactly for that …
The Jeannie-double in Haji’s palace harem is actually the Blue Djinn!
Wanting to invade the place, and anticipating that all the young genies would be recalled there, he decided to disguise himself as a young female genie. Needing a form to use, he picked a fictional TV genie, not realizing that there was ALREADY a genie who looked like that!
Now it will be up to Jeannie to discover who the doppleganger really is, and expose him.
I actually had this idea and postulated it a couple of comics back, but as I think about it more, it doesn’t make sense. To use that as a disguise, The Blue Djinn would have to have knowledge of either Jean, or I Dream of Jeannie and the popularity of it. Now, to our knowledge, the Blue Djinn has never met Jean. And if he was planning to impersonate her, he’d make sure she was out of the way (i.e. dead). That leaves knowledge of IDoJ.
Now, when we met Guano in https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-384 which is 1969, he’s already being heralded as the genie who “trapped the Blue Djinn”. This is also confirmed in http://melvin.jeaniebottle.com/?comic=110-guano . Now, IDoJ ran from 1965-1970…but in this time period, it BARELY cleared the top 30 shows twice in it’s 5 year run, and didn’t rank the rest of the time. It’s popularity is largely due to it’s run in syndication following it’s cancellation. Which is in the ’70s…and after the Blue Djinn is trapped. He wouldn’t know of the IDoJ phenomina, and thus wouldn’t know to impersonate a Barbara Eden genie.
I had a weird thought about the night Jeanie left to go to the palace. Just before Jeanie is seen standing over a sleeping Neil, we see speech bubbles coming out of her bottle. Although we are unable see what is being said, we do know Jeanie was speaking as she was the only one in there. I’m now wondering if it was Jeanie’s sub-conscious receiving and acknowledging the orders to come to the palace. Almost like a hidden backdoor subroutine in a computer program, so that the great Haji can take control when absolutely necessary.
This leads me to believe it was in fact Jeanie that turned Neil into Natalie again but not consciously, thereby following orders to the genies to make sure their masters have something to occupy their time while their genies are away.
As for why Natalie’s behavior is out of whack, I have no idea.
Oh, geeze. o_o ‘Something is different’, indeed.
Hmmm… I just hope this isn’t the result of an ‘official’ 3 wishes. We don’t really have much information when the big 3 are cast, except that a Jeanie can’t reverse it as long as the totem is held by the master… I’m just wondering who benefits from this… besides Rodge.

Who would have the motive to make said Wish? There’s Rodge, but he’s as surprised as everyone else. Who does that leave?
All I can think of is Belle, but that would require a lot of knowledge she doesn’t have.
Or… perhaps Caley? Accidentally wishing that her uncle could get a girlfriend?
Caley would have had to make it through Arceli, though. And again, she has her own Neil related goals. I think Arceli would have found another way.
Besides, Caley doesn’t think much of Rodge, seeming to have a preference for Neil herself. And if I recall, she didn’t like Natalie.
” I wish uncle Rodge would find a girl friend he loves, and she loved him back! ” Could work……
That’s my theory. Perhaps not in a nice way. Caley is entitled to 3 wishes. We know Caley doesn’t really like Rodge (heart break emoji here if I can) so wishing he had some reason to not baby sit her might just be enough. Or wishing him away from her life in general. Yes, messing with people!

Have fun, just do not get pregnant, else you might be Natalie for a number of months more.
She may not be ABLE to get pregnant because the time of the moon. Although I wouldn’t rely on it, considering it’s possible someone set her up exactly for that …
I love the range of expressions, especially the stiff, ” got to man up” in panel 6, and the instant, soft, ” want-a-make-out” in 7.
Crackpot Theory #3:

So while it’s POSSIBLE, it’s not PROBABLE.
