Just reminded myself that going “down to the grotto under the palace” [jeanie-bottle-782] is supposed to fix the problem of all the other genies hating Jeanie because they think she’s “in cahoots with the Blue Djinn” [jeanie-bottle-781]. Pretty sure this means Jeanie will not be deep fried. Her hideous dress won’t even be singed. That stuff is not lava. Fans of the anime [i]Haibane Renmei[/i] may be reminded of the Blue Flow, although falling into that was apparently a Badness Thing, perhaps akin to falling into a river of liquid nitrogen.

Everyone who is pushed into a pool of lava screams like a girl. At that point, you cease caring about what other people will think of you.
Have Alya and Shula taken a dip in the pool? Is this a standard thing that all genies do sooner or later?

The gold lava has to be Happy Juice. When Jeanie comes out of it she will be happy and ready to make a baby with Guano.
That would explain Shula’s eagerness to bring her down there.
At long last, Jeanie will be the obedient, supportive genie Neil deserves.
Oh, wait, Neil’s a wimp. Wimps do not deserve obedience. Never mind.
Ah, but what if Jeanie becomes the obedient, supportive genie Natalie deserves?
“Well, That’ll be an interesting day.”
But wouldn’t Natalie’s first wish be “I wish to be Neil again.”
What would have to happen to make Nat wish to stay Nat?
A hot steamy night with a French racing yacht captain and no Plan B?
So she’s gonna be preggers, and he’s going to be racing off to the next younger bikini?
Depends on how convincing she can be. But being pregnant might be the catalyst to make Neil want to remain Natalie.
So she has the baby, then becomes a single Dad.
But OK, I’m being picky. I’m on record, I think, as wanting Natalie to meet a Good Man, someone who likes her and respects her. Someone who can help her be the best woman, wife, and mother she can be.
But then, I want Neil to do the same for Jeanie, but where would the fun be in those scenarios?
True. A happy ending would eliminate the comedic nature of the strip, just like marriage pretty much ended IDoJ. Whenever a series built on a particular premise reaches a point where that premise no longer applies, the series is pretty much over.

But, and this is kinda important, a little bit, anyway, NBC did not stop broadcasting. They came up with, and yes, hard to believe, OTHER SERIES.
I would love to see a strip where Neil accepts his position as Master, and together Master and Genie find interesting, and even important, things to do.

That stuff may resemble molten gold, but given that Alya said this would be good for Jeanie, it’s probably something magical.
That, or Genies are immune to heat and fire in a damaging sense, but it’s like the ultimate hot bath for relaxation purposes.
At the last moment, Jeanie’ Blue Djinn magic will automatically come into play, turning that lava pool into the world’s biggest bubble bath.
Well, considering that Jinn are literally creatures of “smokeless fire” she should be fine.

Araceli called Guano “Uncle Guano.” The mother of your uncle is your grandmother unless you are Mark Twain. Then everything gets messed up. Actually I’m just hoping we can get to 101 replays and make it to page 3.

CD will have to explain, but I don’t think that’s how it works with genies. Besides, quite often close friends of the family are called aunt or uncle by the kids and are not blood related.
I don’t think it’s necessarily 50 total comments per page. I am pretty sure the pagination has to do with the number of *top level* comments only.
Gary, what you are saying is only sometimes true.
The husband of your mother’s or father’s sister (your aunt) is also your uncle, and yet his parents are NOT your grandparents. Aunts and uncles can be relatives by marriage, as well as by blood.
Of course, in this particular case, that seems unlikely, as it would require Guano to be either polygamous or divorced, and, as yet, there’s no evidence of either circumstance.
Dont end the comic like that!
In this case I think Araceli ment it. Guano would be her uncle and that would make Sula her grandmother. Which will make our Jeanie her AUNT after the marriage. They could get Steve, the invisible narator, from Sailor Sun to do the service.

I think that outfit made its comic cameo when Jehane was banished, on page 477: https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-477. It could show up again if she ever re-enters the story, tho.
Poor Jehane! She totally got framed. I hope that she somehow manages to get her name & reputation cleared, she REALLY didn’t deserve that.
By the way, do you notice that she got turned into a brunette? Just like Jeannie’s evil sister in IDoJ… !

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Jeannie’s Sisters outfit is still a bit different from what was shown in that chapter.
Jeannie’s Sisters outfit tends to have a skirt, not pants. And has the same green and gold trimmings her current outfit wears.
I’m just curious if what she is wearing is more ‘formal’ wear.
And what she’d wear as ‘standard genie attire’ would be similar / identical to the original jeannie’s sisters outfit.
I’m also asking this because, when her bottle was owned by the Dukes of Hazard villain, her outfit was pure white. Under the djinns influence her outfit was blue.
So as a Jeannie princess would her outfit be green and gold?
Also… someone correct me if i’m wrong but doesn’t green and gold have significance in that culture?

Actually, yes. Flipping back through the pages, I see a count of 125 comments for page 777.
How did I ever miss that one.
I’m fairly sure there was a page a few years ago with almost 200 comments. But I can’t recall which it was, and there doesn’t seem to be any way to sort pages by comment count, even in the admin backend.
Page 700 currently has 176 comments, and according to the edited description, “broke the record for the most comments EVER left on a single page of Jeanie Bottle”
Ah yup, that’s the one I was thinking of.
We use to get 100+ comments all the time in JeanieBottle and SailorSun.org. it was easier to get to 100+ comments on comics before we started using Discord. Now the reader remarks are split between the two platforms.
