Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
I don’t know if it’s been asked before but there are similarities.
Natalie gets shoved into the ocean by a so-called friend and has a revelation (possibly). Does she discover that she’s not really helpless when in her female form and that Rodge is a typical misogynist and only interested in her as arm candy?
Jeanie gets shoved into an ocean of lave by a so-called friend (if she can call her mother in-law that). Does she finally learn that she’s no longer human and that there’s more to genie life than hanging out with her bud.
I assume you mean Shula. Shula is overjoyed at having a daughter in-law that will eventually give her a grandbaby, so she’s probably going to be as supportive as possible (given her explosive temper).
Is this supposed to be an echo of what happened to Roger being thrown from the yacht?
Is this a question that has been asked before?
Does this relate to a seasonally appropriate ancient fertility rite?

I wonder if she’ll actually talk to Jeanie about having been human rather than Guano’s “You must serve or be punished” approach.

From Shula’s expression in panel 5 I wonder if having been human will affect being Geanie. I.E. will the baby be half human?
Suuure, she’s nekkid.
PROVE it! I *dare* you!
No. No we do not.
Nicely done by the way.
