Jeanie Bottle 596
Oh wow, this is actually going to tie back to Neil’s boring fuel assignment at work? I was not expecting that, lol.
Oh wow, this is actually going to tie back to Neil’s boring fuel assignment at work? I was not expecting that, lol.
Calling Rodge wont know whats going on till you explain his neice Caley nanny is a genie and your sharing a body for the day makes sense for Rodge.
Looking at the word search, I found the uncircled words of ALIEN, COMET, PLANET, SATELLITE, and LAUNCH. LAUNCH must be the word at the bottom of the first column that is out of the frame.
There’s also a circled “ROCKE(t)” — presumably the ‘T’ at the end was lost when the various puzzles were copied in — that isn’t in the list of words to find.
Also blew it by just circling “STAR” when the word to find was “STARS”. The final “S” is in the puzzle.
I just wanted to ask about ALIEN as I couldn’t find them and thought this was the joke.
Then I saw they’re the only diagonal word in the puzzle and was all “awww”
The word RAIN is also in the puzzle.
the only problem is.. Neil is Still in Araceli’s body!
Is Neil going to phone his own body?
Given the North Korean spy uncovered at Jupiter Two Engineering, bringing in and using personal electronics may be against the rules now. So Neil may have to call a company number–and calls to those are likely to be monitored…
We may have an excuse for Agent Anderson to become part of this arc soon.
Agent Anderson’s return would be a welcome sight.
It would add a little bit more dynamics and some intrigue along some mysterious happening and such to the Jeanie bottle series as to when he or she going to show up and what kind of crap she is being pulled along behind her and/or we get our own person government agent for checking into mysterious happening at the Jupiter Two Engineering corp. Agent Anderson. It would definitely add another side trail for the Jeanie Bottle to go down that hasn’t been explored yet also. This is just another reason that I don’t think the Jeanie Bottle series is ready to end yet, unless CD Rudd want to end it. This one series that is so broad and wide and it seams like it will go on forever, but, there are still so many side trail to go in this series. I know that it won’t last forever and all good thing eventually will come to an end. But, saying that, there still a lot of potential left in this series before it runs out of idea and start repeating itself and all.
like the idea of space center doing space theme word search pages. wonder who he’s going to call
and how he going to explain why he calling with his idea.
I mean Rodge is the easiest to explain on both sides.
Wasn’t there a genie law forbidding the meddle of space travel wouldn’t Araceli and Neil get in big trouble for this?
Yes there was and she was the former owner of the bottle that Jeanie now occupy and her name was Rouyaa who is now known as Barbara Eden. Rouyaa was rearranging budget to get another shuttle for her master at NASA, which was a No, No and got her booted out as the bottle and a loss of memory as to who her former Master was too. What Neil/Araceli are doing is only making a suggestion and aren’t using there Genie power to change anything by magic. So it may or may not be considered the same thing that Rouyaa did that got her booted out as a Genie. Only time will tell here.
I would assume it’s only forbidden to use genie magic to change stuff … and even if not, Neil is not genie.
You know I’d kinda like to be able to see all of the pictures that lie on top of the comics. Like how right now we got Jeanie in a semi sexy pose with a curious look on her face.
“Fuel is affected by gravity–”
Yeah, I’d like to be able to think that space engineers take that kind of thing into account, but then I remember we lost a Mars orbiter because one design team used Imperial and the other used metric…
===
“Why not go in a straight line?”
“We do, it’s just that space is curved. You CAN’T go in a straight line in space anymore than you can on the surface of the Earth.”
“…But…uh….”
“If you really want your mind blown, consider that the Moon and the Earth are constantly going around each other, and the Earth is spinning.”
The moon is also spinning, but, it doing it at the same speed to it orbits the Earth so we only see one side of the moon as it orbit the Earth and some time this effect is called be tidally locked in an orbit.
The correct answer obviously is that they don’t CARE what would be shortest, they need the most fuel efficient way. Flying by inertia doesn’t burn any fuel no matter how big distance it goes over.
Yes–on Earth we tend to think of fuel as being constantly expended in order to travel, because friction slows a moving vehicle. In space, that doesn’t happen, so a vehicle that is set on its path will continue indefinitely.–for example, Voyager 1 has not expended a single drop of fuel in thirty years other than for keeping its antenna pointed at Earth.
There was a second reason besides general fuel savings for using the looping path around the Moon. This path was called a “free return trajectory”, and as the name implies, it would allow the spacecraft to return to the Earth with zero propulsion or fuel expenditure if the decision was made NOT to brake into lunar orbit (e.g. if something had gone wrong en route to the Moon, such as during Apollo 13). Some landing sites on the Moon can only be approached from a path that is a bit off from a Free Return, which is why Apollo 13 had to use the lander’s engine in order to put themselves back on course for Earth. Indeed, the events of Apollo 13 illustrate exactly WHY the use of a Free Return path was desirable–if they had needed as much propulsion to return to Earth as they would for the full brake-into-lunar-orbit-then-return, then they would not have been able to make it.
Because NASA needed a light computer aboard, they went with the transistor and such by the ton, instead of vacuum tube, which touch off electronic revolution.
Vacuum tube’s is considered old technology and even the transistor is late 50’s and early 60’s technology. Computer chips started coming into being in the late 60’s and 70’s in at least the development phase for NASA, because as Odd Duck said, vacuum tube and possibly even transistor isn’t small enough either to be able to put a computer on board the Apollo space craft . They were still kind of limited even in the 80’s, in about that time that Apple computer was created and made home computer a household name. You had those simple game’s like ping and pong where you bat this electronic ball back and forth.
The Apollo Guidance Computer used 4 kB of magnetic core memory (and 72 kB of its ROM counterpart, magnetic rope memory), and first-generation integrated circuits–that is, each “chip” was a single group of logic gates that performed specific functions, as opposed to all-in-one microprocessors like the Intel 4004 (the first ever integrated microprocessor), which was released in 1971. Its performance was comparable to first-generation Intel 8080-based desktop computers such as the TRS-80.
Genies aren’t depicted as very bright in this comic.
But if it took NASA and Neil’s company this long to figure fuel is being burned resisting some un-allowed for gravity field, then I can’t say very much about the intelligence of the humans either.
The most minuscule forces, accounting for mere billionths of a gravity, are figured in when planning missions. Even the pressure of sunlight can sometimes be used advantageously.
It’s a tribute to modern computers — and an indictment of how marginal current rockets are for what they’re required to do.
Ah yes Hohmann transfers. I remember doing those in my orbital mechanics class. Makes me feel all nostalgic.
It’s only taken me 596 of these comics to discover that the left and right arrows on my keyboard can move to previous and next comic pages!
Just this moment I found I could zoom in on the strip—did it to get a better look at the WordSearch…
Somebody ’round there must have a phone.
I would say almost everyone around there probably has a phone, so take your pick as to who your going to ask.
Liam.
Caley. Most kids have a smart phone and Caley most definitely has her uncle Rodge’s phone number already.
In https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-532 we saw Araceli answering Caley’s phone, so that is an option if Caley can be convinced to allow it.
I think he’d be better off going to the ladies’ room and contacting Araceli.
“Araceli! Listen carefully: you have to tell Rodge…”
“Don’t worry about Rodge. Just look after Caley and enjoy your day off.”
“Come on, you owe me for doing this!”
Neil, your work is still going to be there tomorrow. Just relax and enjoy a day with Caley.
That depends. If the bosses decide they can’t rely on him because he goes into a trance all day, he may not have a job tomorrow.
Also, this is an ongoing mission. The earlier the corrections are made, the better.
Here is a video from inside a Saturn rocket tank. You get to see the fuel just flow right out of the tank.

The game is afoot!
I hope Agent Anderson, for some comical reason, gets transformed into a genie.
Actually, I think that it would be better to have Agent Anderson being the nosy government agent that always getting into Neil and Jeanie business and has a vested interest into getting into there business, because, she want to be transformed back into a guy.
If agent Anderson were transformed into a female genie, then you would have find someplace to put her and I think we have enough genie right now. Unless CD Rudd was going to make another spin off series like the Melvin Chronicle, I would see no reason for doing that.
What make this comic worth reading, it’s a throwback to the 30’s and 40’s who done it, with the case of zany characters, and keep us laughing all the way. See Topper Returns on U-Tube, for an understanding.
Even going back and re-reading it again, it interesting to see how the different character develop through out the series and wired thing that they do or crazy idea’s they come up with. Like when Araceli is shooting off the cannon in the living room to arouse Neil/Natalie and drive her off. I knew it was coming and I even suggested that CD do it and it in the original TV series of I Dream of Jeannie, but, it still funny to look at Araceli expression as she fire off the cannon.
Dillweed: Jeanie HAS no SEMI-sexy poses… which is why I also want a Jeanie Marginals Archive Page!
I wonder if the comic will end with Jeanie and Neil getting married like in the original TV show.
That still an open question, but, most people seam to think that, that not going to happen, because, Jeanie use to be a guy that use that use to be Neil’s friend. But, I am not so sure that, that may be the best way to end the series when it time to end the series. CD does have crazy sort of a way of kind of following the TV series, but, coming through the door at it when he does it. But, if this Jeanie Bottle series start to move in that direction, then you will know that this series is getting ready to end pretty soon and that the way it happened in the TV series too. Anthony Nelson married Jeannie and series only lasted another year after that. That marriage was the beginning of the end of that series on TV. So CD should not move in that direction until he ready to end the Jeanie Bottle series.
I guess the next page is gonna be late huh?
Thursday release I bet.
I was wrong. That was timely.
Wait, NO IT WASN’T!!!
