The Blue Djinn is an evil genie who was apparently defeated by Lord Guano in the past. But now he's back, and he's angling to take down the Genie Lords... but how does Jeanie factor into his plans?
Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
I didn’t want to spend any time editing the art before posting the page, since I was already so late. I’ve gone back and done all the art fixes now, including the straps.
@SageM – the wine thing can be explained as either A) Blue lives according to the rules of Islam (which forbids alcohol, if my sister-in-law is to be believed), or B) Blue doesn’t want to cloud their mind during this dinner.
Religion among Genies in the IDOAJB world would be interesting, given that some of the still-living Genies (e.g. Kazom) personally predate many major religions such as Islam and Christianity.
I’m with the other commenters who are speculating that Lilly is the “Mimic Trap” that Blue set up a while back. But she seems to be acting in a way that is disturbing to Blue, so she might be malfunctioning.
@Robert – I think I get what’s going on here. Tell me what you think (and I hope CD is listening… clever bastard he is).
Lilly is the Natalie personality of Niel. The plant tries to make an approximation of what Niel would consider attractive. But because Niel was worried about Rodge he was probably thinking about what Rodge would be attracted to. The plant picked up on that and out popped Lilly.
The reason it’s malfunctioning is obvious. Niel was thinking about Rodge’s happiness.
What Blue doesn’t realize is that this is the ‘fix’ to her situation. If memory serves, she now ‘doesn’t’ want to be one of Haji’s harem djinn. And Niel was mad at Jean for everything she did to Rodge and him. Yet Big Blue has just created a girlfriend that probably earnestly loves Rodge. If instead of trying to destroy the damn thing, she just tweaks a few settings to make sure the plant loves Rodge and doesn’t eat him then she’s back in Niel’s good graces.
He didn’t. He screwed up… or Niel screwed things up by accident. The reason he’s let it continue is when he realizes, “Oh. Jean messed things up between these 2. But this fixes everything. If I don’t want to be sent back to Haji, I should just let this idiot human have Lily and my worries are over.”
@bossrhino. Who says that Neil that stupid. It would be even more stupid to let the Blue Djinn know that you know what going on. We are just going to have to wait and see if Neil actually know or he is actually ignorant of the whole matter. At this point, it can go either direction.
I generally don’t do that until a character is sure to stick around. And right now it feels like there’s good reason to believe Lilly won’t. Unless CD tells me otherwise, she’ll stay off the list for now.
Looks like Jeanie didn’t even drink any of that wine before she spilled it. Kind of a waste.
Also it looks like Rodge’s hickeys are starting to heal…
Jeanie’s dress becomes strapless in panel 3, so you might want to fix that.

So much for that conversation. OH, next thing on the to do list
If I was an evil genie bent on taking over, I would have done the same thing.
Also forgot Blue’s Blue Eyes.
something tells me the powder room about to get real explosive
Good one.
Old Bugs Bunny cartoon joke…
Having the boys keep talking might not be the smartest move, Blue.
The Blue Djinn has something planned or may have found a threat to his plans.
“I’m the most powerful djinn in the cosmos, yet I still have clumsy wrists!”
“Phenomenal Cosmic POWERS! Itty bitty table manners.”
So what’s she gonna say? “Leave right now and I won’t kill you?”
Lillith stretches her wings. All six of them. “You can try, Djinn”

Blue used the wrong hair and the trap is targeting Rodge.

Why would Blue want to give Rodge a girlfriend, though?

Jean, “GOD DAMN IT NIEL!!! ARE YOU THAT BLIND!”

Blue you got the wrong hair, dumbass…
Hmm.. could she be Christine?
Okay Neil, you have to realize something is up with Jean when she calls it a POWDER ROOM!
Look at the two women the boys are with. Neil isn’t going to notice some archaic phrase such as ‘powder room.’ I sure wouldn’t and I’m nearly 70.
Besides, he says it “pyjamas”. “Powder room” isn’t nearly as archaic.
Wait- Cocoa Beach has trolleys?
She still doesn’t even get a spot on the character list?
I generally don’t do that until a character is sure to stick around. And right now it feels like there’s good reason to believe Lilly won’t. Unless CD tells me otherwise, she’ll stay off the list for now.
I love the friendly smile on Blue’s face while she’s probably planning something nasty.
okay, rhetorical question here but what plan from ole blue isn’t nasty?
Is there a delay with this weeks update?
Ahh…no. Everyone can see it but you. 🙂
