Jeanie Bottle 503
Neil is a good friend.
Well folks, this is it. Page 503 is the last page that CD made before he vanished in a poof of smoke. We expect him to return some time early next year. If you’re like to be informed via email when the hiatus is over, please sign up for the “Hiatus Email Notification” list, in the left sidebar.
There’s a small possibility that a few more story pages will come soon, but don’t count on it. Next week will mark the beginning of the hiatus fanart posts, which so far number about 10. If you’d like to contribute more fanart to be posted here during the hiatus, please email it to me at coredumperror@gmail.com.
Well CDD here hoping for a fast safe recovery from your fans

The Hiatus! Horrors! AAAAAAAHHHGGG! The apocalypse is upon us!
Well, you are all welcome to the Melvin Chronicles to endure this hiatus, that way I will be the only one suffering the lack weekly updates 🙂
Blue here must’ve never had a nice experience with humans before or at least got treated like an equal by them, has he? He must be thinking subconsciously, “Is that human for real?”
Yeah, seems that way.
Blue seems also to be unaware that Neil was friends with human Jean before Jean became a Genie, and that said friendship is influencing how Neil views Jean (i.e. as a long-term friend rather than a servant).
If Blue has been out of the mortal cultural loop for long enough (i.e. several decades before his imprisonment), then he may also not grasp that present-day American culture is heavily biased against the entire “obedient servant” mindset due to social fallout from the ending of slavery and institutionalized racism and the general “doing stuff yourself is a mark of competence” attitude of Americans, especially among technically-minded ones such as engineers like Neil. Somebody with Neil’s personality and upbringing probably can’t wrap his mind around abusing a servant–note how he treated Araceli more like someone he was dating than like a servant who “ought to” act submissive.
Dude, she. Fucking. MIND-RAPED. You. Though confusing the crap out of the super-magical villain might be like pole-dancing in front of Dylan Fuentes, so if that’s your plan, then Godspeed. Also, Haji-crap? Oooookay.
Shame about the hiatus. Fortunately I have most of EGS to binge-read, so I guess that’s a good thing?
To be fair, one Jeanie and Neil’s new “normal”, that was a prank that get out of control, and it seems that Neil knows Jean well enough to understand that, he knows his best friend is a jerk, and it worries him that all the cosmic powers get over her head, but again, he still trust her and knows she didn’t ask for them, and knows how much of a trauma it means for her the idea of being trap on her bottle forever.
We know that there is a super-magical villain, but, Neil doesn’t know there is a villain. Remember he thinks he is still dealing with Jeanie who use to be guy. He remembers Jean being turned into a Genie and traumatic experience that she has being coup up in her bottle. So Neil is trying to play peace maker here, but, he not dealing with Jeanie right now, it Blue Djinn that he dealing with and he acts and thinks differently and is even offended at Neil peace offering and thinks it a trick too.
Ok, well, that the way it going to go then.
@Larry – I know Neil doesn’t know that, but if BD’s weakness is people being nice to him, that would be too funny for words. Plus, I’d just played the save points I’d logged for Dead Rising 3 and the Psychopath battles, so I just wanted to toss out the weird weakness Dylan has in that game (makes the fight sooooo much easier) as a comparison in case this throws BD off its game too much.
@Carlos – I just can’t imagine anyone brushing off rewriting one’s whole personality as a prank. That kind of thing is why I stopped reading The Good Witch; when Angel and Michael’s mom finds out Angel keeps turning Michael into a little girl (sometimes with a mind to match), she just COMPLETELY BRUSHES OFF the fact of what her daughter is doing to her older brother. Kinda why this part is bugging me so much.
@He Who Abides Again, what Jeanie did was so out of place that even if Neil doesn’t know why she did it, he may not know what to think of it yet, Jeanie has been screwing his life a lot this past year, but again, Neil knows that Jean’s life has been equally screw in multiple ways, so even if he wants her to be more responsible with her magic, he still wants them to be friends, and realize that trying to manipulate her with her traumas wasn’t the best idea, specially when they knows each other so well, that it was absurd from the start the idea that he was being serious.
Also, looking back, Neil’s is aware of what she did, but we still don’t know how much he remembers of that day (After all, when Jeanie fixed his brain, he just realize for a second time that day he was Natalie), and I doubt that Rodge was willing to tell him all the story, so Neil may not be as mad as he should be.
When will CrazyCow’s filler start?
I’ll do that one first. I plan to post the fanart filler once a week, like the usual story comics.
I’m intrigued that Blue seems to be discomfited by Neil being fair and nice and caring, but what was the point of the whole mimic thing?
We might find out… eventually. (I legit don’t know yet)
It’s called instant coffee, Blue.
Dammit, I wish I’d thought of this joke.
Well, this tells us two things. 1) That is the Blue Djinn talking to Neil, and 2) the BD can not read Jean’s thoughts or memories.
Which means, that neither Genie can read the mind of the other Genie. But, it more like which Genie driving the car at any moment, with Jeanie Body being the car, while the other Genie is the passenger watching what the other Genie is driving the car or Jeanie body.
It what known as a possession or suppression of the host body or person by another being, but, not to the point of a fusion or merging into one being.
We also know that from past episodes, that they can talk to each other mentally if they want to, but, talking to each can also be depressed by the Genie that is also in control of the body too.
That coffee must be pretty strong to make her crush that cup. See you guys on the other side.
Neil probably overdid it on the sugar.
th3go I was wondering with the hiatus are you going to draw some art for Jeanie Bottle I had this idea from your Bay Berry and Heather drawings. How about Natalie Jeanie and Agent Anderson in swimsuits like Bikins or one piece Maybe even Halloween costumes like Jean as a vampire or Natalie as a witch or anything really. I know your a very busy person but your the artist who could make it awesome as all your art is.
th3go hasn’t sent any fanart for the hiarus, but I would gladly accept some from him!
Things are gonna be interesting for Neil. How mad can the Blue djin get?
I think I’ve said this at least once before, but it seems to me that the Blue Djinn hasn’t been discomfited at all about occupying a female body. So, is the Blue Djinn, in fact, a woman? Bach-man portrayed the Blue Djinn as a man–but arguably only as Melvin was imagining the Blue Djinn as Kazom told Melvin the story. I believe no character in the story has ever come out and said that the Blue Djinn is male.
In a story which is, after all, built around gender-switching, I don’t think this is a trivial question. Maybe the reason the Blue Djinn can’t aspire to be the new leader of the genies by the accepted ways because the leader has always been male. Making the Blue Djinn female might make her more of a person and less of a cliche monster.
And what if she is, in fact, Araceli’s mother? We don’t know how old Araceli is, but if she really did know Aladdin, she’d have to have been around since the reign of Harun al-Rashid, who died 1210 years ago.
This is an interesting theory, and I’m quite looking forward to eventually learning the truth!
What makes you think Araceli and The Blue Meanie are related? I don’t recall there being any connection established between them.
Well, they are both blue. In parts, anyway.
What makes you sure that this Blue Djinn actually has blue skin? Well, that’s how Melvin envisioned him, and admittedly in the Barbara Eden series, the Blue Djinn actually did have blue skin, but that’s no guarantee that our Blue Djinn will have a blue hue.
What makes me think Araceli and the Blue Meanie might be related is that it could be a nice plot twist, and that it could explain a few things, like why CD made Guano Araceli’s uncle instead of her dad. It also gives Big Blue a reason not to kill Araceli and people Araceli would rather not be dead, like Neil and maybe even Jean.
And I’ve read all of Sugar, Sugar Rune, where the big plot twist at the end is that the heroine’s dad turns out to be the Final Boss.
Hmm if the Blue Djinn is Araceli’s parent then Guano might resent Blue leaving Guano’s sibling heartbroken or something like that . . .
Both Kazom and Haji refer to the Blue Djinn as a Guy and they were both there when the Genie Realm was setup. So they should know who the Blue Djinn is or whether he a male or female. Now it doesn’t mean that he hasn’t spent time in a female Genie body like what he doing with Jeanie right now. So he may be use to it, but, it doesn’t mean that the Blue Djinn is a girl Genie.
Just because Araceli is blue doesn’t mean that she related to the Blue Djinn or anything like that.
@Larry Yes, but curiously Araceli and Blue are both related to Guano in some way, and in Blue’s case is still a mystery what his story with Guano is, specially when Guano doesn’t like to talk about it, and according to Kazom, nobody knows how Guano managed to defeat Blue on the first place. Also is curious how even when Araceli should be an easy target for Blue’s murder rampage, he hasn’t touch her yet, or the fact that even when the lords have the power to move genie Totems, whoever was in charge of Araceli back on Greece was content leaving her on the bottom of the sea.
Also, just a remainder, I am just speculating as everyone else, I honestly don’t know what Blue’s backstory with Guano is, much less if he have any kind of relationship with Araceli, this are just some thoughts I have ever since this arc started.
@Carlos – can you point me to a spot where they say Guano and BD are related? I’m just blanking on that plot point, and help would be appreciated.
@He Who Abides Sorry I didn’t mean related in a blood way, just the fact that they share history, again, for a lot of people, bot in the fandom and even between the cast like Kazom, the idea that Guano could defeat Blue seems imposible, he wasn’t even a Lord at the time, he didn’t even look like a competent regular genie, and the fact that Guando doesn’t want to talk about it seems suspicious, but yet again, Blue wants revenge against Guano, so he isn’t fake in it, so I just think that whatever happened between those two is most complicated than just a fight.
Bill Dailey (Roger Healey) passed away at the age of 91 on Sept 4th.
I figured his stay as Howard Borden on “Bob Newhart” was a wish gone bad, like Tony Nelson winding up as a rich bad guy in Dallas, or Jeannie on the Harper Valley P. T. A. Alas.
By the way, now that CD has vanished…can you tell us what he’s really doing? Nobody but us need know…these posts will be distant forgotten memories by the time he returns…
No. It would be illegal for me to tell you that. Like, literally.
Just cause I’m on Hiatus, doesn’t mean I’m gone… My ghost will haunt the websites till I come back!
Whhooooooo…..
How can we miss you if you won’t go away?
Or until we call the ghostbusters
Listen please. And you’re going to continue this story or not – I’m just still interested.
