My first guess would be that she is trying to stall so that Neil will not arrive home until the cops are gone.

We’ve never had any evidence that Jean or Jeanie knows anything about how photocopiers work. Maybe that means that she wouldn’t be able to fix it.
She was able to restore a classic car to factory conditions by poofing, I think she could fix a copier with magic.
