Time for a chess match while Neil tries to have a chance with Zoey. Cause they both want to be with each other tonight.
I also I like how Natalie almost said Collage and then caught herself at the very last moment and said High School. She almost spilled the beans here.
Judging by how big the hands of the guy Neil just spilled punch on, I’d say Neil is about to get another kind of punch.
While an altercation is probably destined to occur, don’t judge the guy by his hand size. I’ve noticed oversized hands quite often throughout the strip.
Some how most of us just knew there was going to be a chess match between Natalie and Danny. We pretty much know how this is going to turn out, Natalie/Neil has had four or five more years of playing chess than Danny has had playing chess. Then we have Neil Zoey front that was created by Natalie.
Natalie doesn’t even have to win, to win the war in this case, all she has to do is keep Danny busy for as long as possible and Neil and Zoey will be able to spend the night together at the dance.
And apparently, any concerns about screwing with the timeline or causing universe-ending paradoxes goes out the window when faced with the opportunity to put Danny in his place / give teenage-Neil some alone time with teenage Zoey. Though if the Sartorelli’s closing and the “counterfeit” bill is any indication, everything that has happened will happen. There’s no way to create a paradox, and everything they do is exactly as originally happened.
@Makaira: I agree, they just didn’t remember it either through selective memory or some sort of magical erasure.
Eww. That’s some goopy looking punch there. Probably with crushed pineapple, applesauce and jello mix to thicken it up. And chocolate or coffee to make it brown so it leaves a stain. 🙂 Blond guy with the knuckles does not look happy to have the stuff spilled on him, either. 🙂
Zoey’s cute. I’d be happy if we saw more of her after the comic returns to the present.

Zoey, take Neil by the hand and lead him to the dance floor and keep him out of trouble so we can watch the chess game. Haven’t seen the Jeanie and Rita cat fight for a while.
I think the Jeanie and Rita cat fight is the grand finally for this Arc before they go back to the future. The Zoey Neil getting together at the school prom is only the lead up to Natalie Danny dual at playing chess. Drum roll please as they lock horns with each other and to only find out that Natalie a better chess player that Danny and that will humiliate Danny and totally debase him and throw him off track. Now we ready to have the Jeanie and Rita cat fight and hopefully she a witch bitch so we get into cat fight with two magical being. Then they can get down and dirty with each other and then this Arc section is basically over with. Both Natalie/Neil and Jeanie will be going back to the future where they belong.
Why do you obsess on Rita being a witch? Can’t she just be a normal teenager that happens to be a self-centered bitch?
Yes, she can, but, it would not be as interesting to see what happens between Jeanie and Rita if that the case. Both Jeanie and Rita are self-centered bitch and then have them both being magical being also. Oh, yes, how lovely that would be? We will have a dual between the two chess master Natalie and Danny on one side and have magic dual of a Genie and Witch on the other side. Then we have Zoey and Neil in the center dancing with each other.
I am tired of Jeanie always being able to do things her way and then she getting away with it. I want Jeanie to get into a fight with someone who can fight her back too. That the only reason that I want Rita to be a witch.
Okay, that makes sense. She does get away with a lot… but I think we can blame much of that on Neil not really being a strong Master.
If Neil hooks up with Zoey in the present how is he going to explain living with a hot blonde and then explain to her that the blonde is really the jerk Jean she knew in high school.
If Zoey does show up in Neil future or the present as we know it, there are several things that he either going to have to explain to Zoey or try to hide the truth from her and they are:
1. That it was Jeanie that took Jean out, but, Jeanie is Jean and that was after Jean was turned into Jeanie in the future.
2. That both Jeanie and Neil are time travelers into the past so that Jeanie could be Jeans prom date.
3. That Blonde Bomb shell Jeanie is actually a Genie and that how they did the time travel thing.
4. That Natalie is actually Neil that Jeanie turned into a girl from time to time and that It was Natalie that was Neil date to the school prom.
5. That Belle Lows is actually Jeans old girlfriend, because, she come by looking for Jean ever so often too.
6. If Araceli come by, do they explain to Zoey that she just another Genie or what.
This is just a short list of item that they either have to let Zoey in on or keep it from her. In either case, it going to be a real mess to deal with.
Or they could just say that Araceli is Jeanie’s niece because she is, sort of, now. Who do you think will be ticked off more, Araceli being called Jeanie’s niece or Jeanie being called “Aunt Jeanie”?
Oh we do need a love triangle-Neil, Zoey and Araceli.
I’m still feeling pretty confident Neil is changing history in a way that isn’t magically paradox auto-correcting like when Jean does it.
Strip #666 next time. Will there be something demonic? Or , perhaps, will the Roman Emperor Nero show up? Probably not on both counts.

This comic kind of tropes Neil as the center of a harem, I think once returned to the present the harem will have grown by one more, but they’re not together for some kind of silly reason.
I predict that not only will Natalie beat Danny, but he will fall in love with her as a result.
That’s a funny idea. 🙂 Years later he finds out that Natalie only exists when Neil is transformed and schemes to get Jeanne to make it permanent. 😀
Careful what you wish for. If Jeannie finds out that Danny wants to be with Natalie permanently, she could very well oblige him by turning him into Natalie. Jeannie is like the chaotic-neutral version of the evil genie who twists your wishes.
If Jeanie isn’t interested in marring Neil, but, is only interested in restore her old friendship with Neil more along what it was before she became a female genie, then honoring Danny desire to have Natalie for his girlfriend would be just the ticket for Jeanie to do that. Because, Jeanie can’t become a guy again, but, there nothing that say that she can’t transform Neil into Natalie permanently so that she can continue to have Neil as her best friend.
I don’t think it going to happen, but, it an interesting idea.
@Larry: Of all the talk about upsetting the space-time continuum, that would certainly do the trick. Even if Jeanie pulled off such a stunt, keeping Natalie as her best friend would be a hard row to hoe… remember how upset Natalie was at the beginning of this arc and multiply that by forever!
For the most part I agree with you. But, we aren’t talking about logic here, we are going on emotional desire and that can get totally whacked out and completely off base to the extreme. Most of the people here will bend over backward to keep from messing up the time line and then they make suggestion like this that would demand that they mess up the time line to do it.
Like I stated in the final statement of the above post, I don’t think it going to happen. Beside, Jeanie Bottle series kind of sorta follows the I Dream of Jeannie TV Series, so no that not going to happen. There may be some side trails in that direction, but, in the end, it going to come back to Neil being a guy and Jeanie being girl genie.
