Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
I think Jeanie is just starting to understand her former nature as a guy and that look of apprehension on her face seem to confirm maybe she didn’t want to take Jean out on a date either. Like she having second thought about this deal.
Considering how little Jeanie seemed to remember of this night, and how Jean is being so handsy I think there will likely be more than a few memory spells or sleep spells cast before the night is over.
That’s my thought… Jean gets snubbed by his date and imagines that things went far differently than they actually did. His ego won’t accept that and he evolves a false memory of what happened which is what he “remembers” in later life.
Lol It’s ‘fine’. . . they’re just unwittingly & deliberately getting to know far hereafter & bygone counterparts of themselves through both time & sex distinction.
. . .
Totally a-typical date ^^’. The implications of the nostalgia-seeking roundabout & intrusive playback.
Is ANYBODY going to notice how much Neil and Natalie look alike? And when somebody does, how soon before the “Neil’s had to bring his cousin” jokes start?
And how soon before Jean’s roaming hands set Jeanie off?
Belle realized it when she caught Natalie with Rodge; she immediately believed them when they claimed Natalie was Jean’s sister. (Although Belle didn’t believe she was dating Rodge until Natalie gave R. a tonsil-cleaning kiss.)
Jeanie does know this is her younger, male self–which is why her younger self isn’t dancing on a stripper pole or hitting Omaha Beach right now.
Natalie knows nothing about being a teenaged girl at this stage of life and doesn’t have anything to form a conversation around, just engineering. I suspect that she will be Neil’s inspiration to become an aerospace engineer because Chess Club and D&D don’t necessarily indicate his career choices. If that’s the case, then our girls’ trip into the past will actually set their current historical time-line in motion.
Natalie literally knows everything Neil knows about teenage girls so he’s probably not going to catch her out on anything. In fact, she probably knows more, Neil, being Neil, has no more expectations than a good time and will probably be thrilled that this lovely girl he has just met shares his interests. Jean, on the other hand, is primarily interested in the one thing Jeanie is not interested in sharing.
@Pilgrim:Natalie literally knows everything Neil knows about teenage girls… My point exactly. Girls of that age have certain skill sets and a core life experience learned growing up female. Teen Neil is clueless… what was the phrase… adorkable? Teen Natalie doesn’t have the life experience to successfully pull of being a girl, although I doubt teen Neil will know the difference.
I’m really enjoying this story line.. Jeanie’s discomfort is beautiful to behold, and I’m pretty sure Natalie will do just fine chatting with Neil about aerospace engineering and astrophysics and other high brow topics (which I’m sure will greatly impress teen Neil). Maybe they’ll wander off from the dance to play chess or something.
Now enter Zoey… does something happen at the dance that triggers a Back to the Future moment (ala Biff and Lorraine in the car) in which Neil saves the day earning him Zoey’s undying affection?
I personally would like to see Neil save the day for Zoey and earn her undying gratitude and affection too. I would like Neil to have Zoey as his girlfriend when Jeanie and he go back to the future where they belong. Then have Jeanie break up the affair between Zoey and Neil, because, she jealous of them and feel left out of that relationship.
Jeannie seems to be suddenly remembering what he/she did on prom night, and is not sure how to handle the situation. Since impulse control is not his/her strong suit, this could get interesting.
@Ophidiophile, they went back for the burger and Neil just happened to mention that tomorrow was Prom night and then Jeanie did her number to go to the Prom with Jean and taking Neil with her and turning him into Natalie along the way.
It would be amusing if Jean finally gets a clue getting a taste of her own medicine.
And it’s NEIL and NATALIE who actually hit it off, Natalie forgetting herself.
Yes it’s narcism. But I think would be a nice contrast between the two.
Why? He knows he doesn’t have a sister. And I would guess that he doesn’t have any female teen cousins, either. So those who recognize “Wow, Natalie looks a lot like Neil” are likely writing it off as an unremarkable coincidence. So far.
‘oh, right, I was a douche back then AND a horndog XD I’ve been able to poof myself into so many ridiculous outfits over the years I FORGOT the horndog part – slipped my mind – but – yup – there it is – remember now!’
I’m not sure Jeanie really identifies as female – does she really want to um, ‘interact’, with a male, even if it is her former self? She should know Jean’s intentions for this evening. Is she up (or maybe, down) with that?
Maybe not completely female, but judging by some of her actions and things she’s said it is certainly getting stronger. Even if she were totally female there’s nothing that says she has to be up for getting down with anything. Besides, Jeanie (formerly Jean) couldn’t even remember the name of the date he took to prom… repressed memories and all that.
Which leads me to a conclusion (strange as THAT might be). Whatever it is that happened on prom night that Neil and Jean couldn’t clearly remember, what… six years later, may have been magically repressed by a certain blonde bombshell. Jean and Neil don’t remember her name or what happened because Jeanie scrubbed their memories.
I am thinking that Jeanie had to do some kind of a repair number to hid what happened during the prom, we still have two wild cards out there that could still mess things up.
We have Rita who could still cause problem with Jean too, I would like to have her being a witch and see a chick fight between her and Jeanie.
We have Zoey and her date that could still mess thing up at the prom too. I would like to see the younger Neil come to Zoey defense against her date who isn’t what he should have been with possible guy fight with Natalie playing chaperon to those two for the rest of the night.
There are still several unknowns out there that can still happen during this prom night.
Jean hasn’t really changed since high school except his genie powers and dating his girlfriend Belle.
And, you know, the whole “turned into a hot blonde bombshell” thing. 🙂
Dang straight
I think Jeannie’s understanding how perverted she was, back when she was a guy.
I think Jeanie is just starting to understand her former nature as a guy and that look of apprehension on her face seem to confirm maybe she didn’t want to take Jean out on a date either. Like she having second thought about this deal.

Or Freudian repression.
That’s my thought… Jean gets snubbed by his date and imagines that things went far differently than they actually did. His ego won’t accept that and he evolves a false memory of what happened which is what he “remembers” in later life.
Or Jean’s first time as a girl.
Or alcohol.
“Handzie?” Really? He put his arm around her. That’s asking a question: “Do you mind if I touch you?” “She has yet to say, ‘No’.
I find it a little bit weird that Neil is dating his female version and Vice versa
(Creepy)

Not to mention Rule #1. Considering Jeanie’s impulse control issues, that may be the only thing preventing a disaster.
Nothing says “I think I may have made a critical error” more than Jeanie’s face right now.
It looks like Neil is going to have a much better evening than Jean.

That’s a great idea! 🙂

It’s kind of cute how turning to talk to him has inadvertently scooched Natalie closer to Neil.
Be careful what you ‘poof’ for.
Jeannie seems to be suddenly remembering what he/she did on prom night, and is not sure how to handle the situation. Since impulse control is not his/her strong suit, this could get interesting.
I guess it depends on how much of male Jean remains in female Jeanie’s core being.
I thought Jean didn’t have a date for prom night, which is what prompted Jeannie to go back in time and make sure he had one.
@Ophidiophile, they went back for the burger and Neil just happened to mention that tomorrow was Prom night and then Jeanie did her number to go to the Prom with Jean and taking Neil with her and turning him into Natalie along the way.
Jean remembered having a blonde transfer student as his date, but not anything more about her.
I s’pose younger Jean will be so hung over after that he won’t remember any of it—fortunately.
Oh, come on, who HASN’T cringed when dating the younger version of themselves.
Right?? I mean, that happens to me like every third Tuesday.
Power Girl banner for halloween.
Jeanie looks great as PG, doesn’t she?!
It would be amusing if Jean finally gets a clue getting a taste of her own medicine.

“Now tonight’s going to be a night we’ll remember forever”
That’s part of the problem Jean – you don’t
I would say Jeanie is going to have a lesson in empathy tonight, but narcissism will probably prevent that.
Oh, if our Jeanie could only remember what the blonde transfer student did to him after the prom.
I realize that people can change a lot after high school, but shouldn’t Neil the Younger be feeling strong family vibes from Natalie?
Why? He knows he doesn’t have a sister. And I would guess that he doesn’t have any female teen cousins, either. So those who recognize “Wow, Natalie looks a lot like Neil” are likely writing it off as an unremarkable coincidence. So far.
if Jeanie was Power Girl, she would use her Super Breath and blow all the jerks away.. and not in the Sexy kind either.
except what you remember will be more fantasy than reality
It’s like Jeanie is just NOW remembering
‘oh, right, I was a douche back then AND a horndog XD I’ve been able to poof myself into so many ridiculous outfits over the years I FORGOT the horndog part – slipped my mind – but – yup – there it is – remember now!’
The longer this date goes on, the more I wonder how badly the timeline is going to fracture.
I’m not sure Jeanie really identifies as female – does she really want to um, ‘interact’, with a male, even if it is her former self? She should know Jean’s intentions for this evening. Is she up (or maybe, down) with that?

The look that says, “I need to decide just HOW MUCH of a narcist I am… and quickly.”
