Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
Yes, Robert right about that, forget about there not in the same city that Jeanie and Natalie/Neil are in right now, but, there not even in the same state or even in the same end of the country that there in or even in the same time zone that there in even.
Well, it all in the spirit of mall shopping the Jeanie trying to get into here to see why girls like it so much, now that Jeanie is actually a girl now or at least a Genie girl anyway. I am sure that Jeanie will satisfy her curiosity to the max here. It all part of Jeanie coming to terms to being a girl.
Or trying to off load everything off to someone else, like possibly to Zoe. After all, he is an engineer and he has an analytical mind for figuring thing out.
My guess is that she’s starting to realize that despite the two of them having gone back in time, things are still progressing exactly how Neil remembers them. Natalie may be in the process of realizing that they’re in a stable time loop.
“I want to know why teenage girls are obsessed with malls”
Then it is good that she travelled back in time, because today the only thing they are obsessed with are their mobile phones, and the only ones going to the mall are teenage boys, who have always loved to explore decaying and abandoned ruins.
There are several reason why girls are interested in Mall and they are:
1. Girls are more interested in the latest things to come out or this years style of dresses and such and generally a whole lot more interested in it than boy are. They also have makeup shop, hair dresser and perfume shop there There are exception, but, most boy say get me a good pair or pants, a decent shirt, good shoe, then I good to go.
2. It a good place to get away from the rest of the family for a little while and kind of act like a big girl instead of always being under mother or father supervision all the time.
3. It a good place to hang out with other girls that might be your friends, you can walk the mall and have fantasy of what your going to buy or even buy stuff with them. If you want something to eat, there are fast food joints there too.
4. Sometimes that might even want to flirt with the guys, since it in a public place, it relativity safe there and you can fine someplace to retreat from them too if the need arises.
There are a lot of things that you can do in mall, they have video games and such, especially if your there with your friends. I sometimes like to go to the mall to just walk around and get some exercise and I will see them hang out in different places at the mall.
yes but my point was that malls do not exist anymore. There are mall ruins many places, and it can be kind of cool to break into an abandoned and partially collapsed building that have started to be reclaimed by nature. But these places do not hold any of the “new things” thou mentioned, they are just an edifice of the past. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n67s2r6fVKg
Perhaps the reason Neil doesn’t remember going to the prom with Natalie is that they didn’t.
Maybe Jean gets angry and turns Natalie into a plastic mannequin wearing a prom dress in a store window. So, during the prom Natalie was stuck in a dress shop display window. I so want to have Natalie become a cute shiny plastic store mannequin or a vinyl doll for a while, she’d be so cute!
Natalie is conscious the whole time and likes being a mannequin so much that Jean can’t change her back to normal unless Natalie wants to change back! So Jean has a telepathic conversation with a mannequin to convince it to want to return to human form!
I have a thing for people turned into sentient, aware inanimate objects, especially being turned into mannequins and statues!
Maybe Natalie is at the prom after all, as a life sized clear ice sculpture put among the chilled food. Jean has to remember to change her back before she melts and disappears. Too mean!
Or a conscious cheerleader trophy in the high school trophy display case everyone passes while entering the basketball court where the prom is held.
For Jeanie, thinking like a girl is kind of a progressive thing for her. The physical side of Jeanie was absolute and complete and total without any possibility of a return to her former male self when she was transformed into a Genie originally. But, the internal side of Jeanie or the emotional side and mental side of Jeanie that make Jeanie a female genie was dumped inside Jean head and connected to him then and it was also permanent also, but, it wasn’t fully activated or fully functional yet. So for the first few months Jeanie was acting more like a guy in a female body and for the most part she or he was a guy in a female body and acted like one. But, as her new nature begin to come to the surface and she begin to discover her new female self, which is what we are seeing now. The Jeanie Bottle series revolve around Jeanie finding her new female genie self.
I’m looking forward to Jeanie looking at a mall throufg a female’s perspective as her feminine nature manifests itself. I foresee a fashion show as she tries different outfits, perhaps with magical assistance, with Natalie watching and being sucked into an emotional roller coaster ride (she IS wearing a teenage female’s body, after all, hormones and all).
I spent a lot of time hanging out at the local shopping mall when I was in high school. Of course, it helped that the mall was literally right across the street from my high school. . .
One thing I really like about this page, and I’m embarrassed to say I only noticed on the re-read, is how their body language conveys that they really are teenagers. Adults simply aren’t that animated under normal circumstances. So it looks like the spell Jeanie used to make them fit in was a total transformation and they literally are teenage girls and not adult men inhabiting the bodies of female teenagers. Which makes sense in context, they wouldn’t want any uncharacteristically adult male behavior giving them away. Whether Jean’s transformations tend to be total (Natalie, the fishermen) or purely physical (Red, Agent Anderson) appears to depend upon the comedic requirements of this sitcom universe.
As someone who has followed CD’s work for years I’m impressed at how his art has matured to the point where he can create vibrant characterizations out of relatively simple lines. Look at Jean. Three panels with radically different expressions but you can clearly see how each flows into the next. And the pockets, lapels and seams on their clothing are all mere suggestions but instantly recognizable none the less. Just enough detail to carry the art, more wouldn’t make it look better. That’s artistic maturity.
Natalie appears to doing finger math. Note that a different number of fingers are showing on each hand in each panel. Then numbers those represent depends upon the fingermath system she is using. Korean Chisenbop is probably the best known in the US and Canada but there are others.
There was a chisenbop craze in the US in the late 70s and early 80s with lots of commercials mixed in with the classic sitcoms on after school television. And Neil probably was the kind of kid who would think learning to do match on his fingers would be really cool.
Well Jean hope fully the mall security won’t call your parents. Hey Wolfpac starting soon new of a release date coming soon?
Yeah, CD announced Wolfpac’s release date on the Discord. Which you should totally join! 🙂
It’s June 27th.
I wonder if they’ll meet a Teenage Anderson, or Teenage Rodge who is skipping a different school, or… Ms. Eden perhaps?
Huh, being outside the school does open up possibilities like that. Intriguing!
Yes, Robert right about that, forget about there not in the same city that Jeanie and Natalie/Neil are in right now, but, there not even in the same state or even in the same end of the country that there in or even in the same time zone that there in even.
Dress shopping 🙂
Window shopping, Jeanie doesn’t need to shop for dresses. She just needs inspiration.

What’s Natalie counting off on her fingers? How many bases he remembers getting to with his prom date?
Or trying to off load everything off to someone else, like possibly to Zoe. After all, he is an engineer and he has an analytical mind for figuring thing out.

Or more counterfeit cash showing up.
Well it’s not like they can get in any trouble for skipping class since there not students.
Well, they are gonna need prom dresses.
Exactly!
We already know that Jeanie is cool with dressing femininely. But it’ll be interesting to learn how/if she convinces Natalie to do the same. lol
Like Natalie will have a choice.

You’ve been binging on Mannequin, haven’t you?
Heh, not surprised to see such speculation from you, gildsoul. 🙂
I hadn’t thought of it before, myself, but it would be a fun concept!
Perhaps I should commission CD to do something like that. Inanimate transformations are fun.

Why is Natalie staring at her fingers?
