Huh, I wonder what the cute pattern on Jeanie’s bra-top-thing is all about?
Jean be calm and slowly explain what just happened to Blue being a baby girl and maybe it wont be so bad but if Blue says mommy or daddy 2 men a genie and a baby think about it and magic a diaper on blue.

Could be, but the bond comes from the Hubun Jadid, not the Blue Djinn’s magic.
Hard to say. Maybe they traced Blue to here via finding the gargoyle dogs and tracking their magical signature. Who knows.

Speaking of Guano, I have to give him some credit- he’s certainly not lacking in courage.

I know, right? What exactly makes him think that a few guards with weird scythes would remotely intimidate Blue?
You can’t arrest someone and banish them to the Pitt unless you can force them to go there. And from what we’ve seen of Blue’s power, they definitely can’t do that.
That would also mean that Jeanie would have that power since she took back her power as a Genie and The Blue Djinn power and the power of another Genie that the Blue Djinn killed so that he could take her power too. So Jeanie got to be really powerful right now and maybe even one of the more powerful Genie now. Because, she got the power of three Genie’s inside her right now.
Fortunately for these guards, unlike Blue, Jeanie isn’t really the murderin’ type. She’s much more likely to turn them into hot babes than corpses.
Counterpoints – the guard genies may not be stupid or suicidal. They probably sensed the magical explosion and concluded (rightly) that the Blue Djinn has been fatally weakened. Those weapons may be magical items specifically prepared to deal with this situation. Lord Guano acts like an idiot, but “Guano” is a front that Alwatatat puts up after mis- or overinterpreting Rouysa’s advice to act like a forceful genie lord, and Alwatatat has managed to defeat the Blue Dinn before….
Hah! just kidding. Prepare to watch these clowns get their butts handed to them, Looney Tunes style.

Yes, especially when we are talking about Jeanie, like she turned Neil into Natalie and sent him to a strip bar several time.
So far the Blue Djinn defeated genies mostly by being sneaky. He defeated Guano by gaining control of his totem and his niece’s not by beating him with raw power. And he planned on gaining control of the genie nation through subterfuge night war.
He specifically said that Jeanie’s baseline power was far weaker than his original powers.
He gained some more power since then, but I doubt he could have outmatched Guano and two guards.
If course if he still retains control of Guano’s totem and can incapacitate him again it might be more even, though maybe Guano’s allies can just magic the remote away or have already recovered his totem.
Also, while I haven’t been too impressed by the genie guards, you still have to remember that they have been tasked with guarding against other genies who also have great magical power, so presumably they have some ability to combat other genies that is greater than the average genie. Whether from special skills, special weapons, greater than average power or whatever.
Though I guess they could just be more ceremonial and it’s fear of Haji and the genie lords that keep people in line, and guards at the door are more just a signal of cross this threshold and you’re crossing Haji’s will than an effective barrier.
I see Jeanie doing one of two things. Either she try to reason with them and explain that, that baby over there is actually the Blue Djinn and good luck with that plan, because, they will have a hard time believing that this is now Jeanie and not the Blue Djinn that masquerading as Jeanie. Or Jeanie loses it and start screaming at them and then something else will happen.
My theory is that she’ll try to explain, fail miserably, the guards and/or Guano will threaten Neil, and Jeanie will NOT take kindly to that. She’ll then make use of her power stolen from Blue to do something that Guano and the guards are not expecting.
The first part is certain (she’ll try to explain, fail miserably). Only question is if she really explains so badly, if the explanation would be quite good but the guards would be too stupid to understand it anyway, or if they actually will understand and just won’t believe.
Wow, they must have some really big beer bottles in genie land.

It appears that both their tops become white when they are near to each other. Jean’s top is completely white in the last panel.
Hmm, not quite completely. There’s a touch of pink at the top, still.
But yeah, it does seem like proximity might be involved, since her bandeau was fully pink in the last comic.
So, among the djinn, white is the color for weddings? ^_^
I do remember there being a color change in Blue and Guano’s outfits after they bonded. So maybe this is the same change re-asserting itself?
Blue is wearing a pink top and Guano’s vest is tan when Blue forces Guano to surrender in comic 547. After their mating in comic 550 they’re both wearing white. Magically coordinated outfits appear to be the Genie equivalent of wedding rings.
At least this answers one speculation: Jean is mated to Guano, and if he ever wants a child of his own he better start making nice.
So Jean is sorta married?
That’s what Big Blue forced Guano into a few pages ago. That probably still applies to Jeanie, since she’s in what was Blue’s body, now.
where oh where is Lord Kasom, Rouyaa and Arceli? Arceli is going to be rolling on the floor laughing when she finds out that Jeanie is married to Uncle Bat Poop until she realizes that make Jean her Aunt.
My theory is that Rouyaa will come along and explain everything. Because not only will no one believe Jeanie no matter what, but Rouyaa was Guano’s old mentor so he will believe her. And we havn’t seen her for a while but saw her before the explosion so Checkows gun right there
Yes, I kind of routing for Rouyaa to come along and save the day too, or at least explain that the Blue Djinn isn’t in Jeanie Body anymore. The Demand Possession has passed or has been thrown out.
But, the question still arises as to who is Guano married to. Could be either one or is it either of them is married to Guano or neither is married to Guano and at the same time too. Because, when the Blue Djinn married Guano she or he was in Jeanie body. Or do we have a marriage by degrees as in Jeanie is 50% Guano wife and the Blue Djinn is the other 50% of Guano wife.

That is a GOOD point! The explosion may have knocked her bottle over and unstoppered it, which I think would release her.

Actually, given the events we see previous to the wall-shattering kaboom, Araceli may be the one who saves the day this time (with a little more help from Kazom).

honestly, this is one of the few comics I still enjoy every time. I love this site but many of my old favorites don’t upload anymore or finished their story so glad this is still around
CD’s art and writing chops really are stellar, aren’t they?

I think in modals when it comes to comparing comic series with each other. and CD Rudd comics are one of the few that I actually like to read and that I think is well put together too. It has a fairly good plot line and character development and a good interaction between the people in the story with each other too. You can kind of visualize the different people in the story in your mind of who they are and what there thinking too. There are a few other comics that I consider to be in this catagory, but, there aren’t many of them.

Seriously, it seems to be Guano’s thing to not be able to tell other characters apart. He mistakes transformed humans for Genies, Mistakes one Genie for another, you would think he would be more careful about jumping to conclusions.
Come to think of it, if he and Blue are bonded…then it’s his job to take care of the baby.
Here’s my little theory, which starts as many of the ones here do:
Jeanie tries to explain, it doesn’t work, we all know that’s gonna happen
And Neil tries to help via saying that Jeanie is right, but the guards don’t buy it.
This then leads to one of two outcomes
1. Neil gets stabbed by one of the guards under the assumption that he’s working for the Blue Djinn, Jeanie horrified, and now angry, gets creative and uses her magic to get the guards out of the area, (teleporting them to a different time maybe?) Guano will either be scared and do nothing or grow a pair and try to do something only to stop just in time when he sees Jeanie rush to Neil’s side to help heal his stab wound. Thus causing Guano to see Jeanie is telling the truth.
Or
2. They don’t buy it and take Neil and Jeanie back to Haji
All she had to do was react with surprise when he said “bonded”. Jeanie was humafied when Blue pulled that crap.
Or, Blue’s two guard dogs show up and eat the two guards.
Doesn’t the pattern on her bandeau look just like the pattern on Guano’s vest?
Also Blue’s evil escaped two strips ago, and he hasn’t yet been changed.
Jeanie by turning The Blue Djinn into a baby girl, permanently changed him forever. Actually, the Blue Djinn went through a three phase transformation to finally disappear forever never to be seen again and they are:
1. When the Blue Djinn became a girl Genie by nature, because, he took over Jeanie body.
2. The Blue Djinn was turned into human girl by the Quat Euzma take the body that he created for Jeanie and now he not only a she, but, he a human she and not a Genie anymore.
3. Jeanie said that she was going to start the Blue Djinn all over again from the beginning, which means that all memories of ever being the Blue Djinn were erased and the baby will grow up as a human baby with no memory of ever being the Blue Djinn or ever being Genie even and may never even know Genie or ever meeting a Genie in real life.
Unless someone undoes this magic or there a loop hole somewhere, the Blue Djinn is gone never to be seen again!
Is he a she? Haven’t seen a diaper change yet. (Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a she, though.)
