Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
It’s been long-established that Guano is Haji’s heir apparent, and Jeanie’s been glued to him politically (if not romantically) since the Blue Djinn’s antics got thwarted *after* she forcibly hitched herself to Guano in an attempt to take the throne from Haji through trickery and murder.
The particular details of what it *means* to be the consort of the heir apparent of the leader of Genie-kind is what we’re learning now. And of course, genies don’t do it anything like humans, because they’re weird and mostly pretty dumb, haha.
well what does it normally means to be married to the king?
Let’s take a historical example.
Queen Margrete, daugther of Valdemar atterday became Queen of Norway in 1363 (age 10) but quickly became the de facto ruler of Norway by taking advantage of the ailing king.
When he died she became the official regent of her son, who also as a mere infant earned the thrones of Denmark and Sweden. When he died she was declared ruler in her own name of all the realms, and ruled till her death as High Queen.
there are many similar cases of the queen taking over, so year it means a lot. It don’t have to mean anything if the king is strong and the queen is weak, but if it is the reverse…
and in this case everyone clearly sees Jeannie as someone who forced their beloved heir into an engagement he didn’t want. She will have a hard time winning their trust
But the guy on the right in the first panel has hair, too, sticking out from under his turban. Baldness in genies is just a popular style; it’s not universal.
Seems Alya doesn’t see the Jean discontent for the coronation.
Just means she doesn’t want power. It’s a good trait.
Alya really needs to learn, how to read the room.
Well, at least all of them don’t hate Jeanie.
Alya is such a good friend, being all excited for Jeanie like that.
I knoooooow. She’s so cute.
As the other freshman genie, Alya is always supportive of Jeanie. They’re like sisters.
I still snicker at Guano Amir (Prince) as a name. It fits him too well.
I kind of wish some of the genies from the Wotch were in the crowd.
The crowd must think her name is very generic.
Poor Alya. I’ve known girls like that. She’s sweet.
That’s one fan.
This is probably Alya’s dream not Jean’s though.
Well, the question as to whether all male genies are bald has been answered in the negative.
On another note, Alya is a very sweet girl. Jeanie should treasure her friendship, but we all know she won’t.
Its alright Alya. We still love you.
I get the distinct feeling that the queen is not popular.
Well at least she got one friend, she should make her her lady in waiting
You mean, “Princess”?
is it only a principality. I was sure that Lord Guano just became the king of Djinn
He was introduced as the next Haji, so yeah. Prince.
Where is this going? Seems really out of the blue sorta…anyone else feel this way.
“Out of the blue”? I don’t think so.

Now that Araceli has moved her totem over to Neil maybe Alya could be Caley’s geanie?
hay wait a minute. there is a male jinn in the last frame with HAIR
But the guy on the right in the first panel has hair, too, sticking out from under his turban. Baldness in genies is just a popular style; it’s not universal.
Yeah, seems like this is the case, now that we’re seeing more male genies. They’d been pretty uncommon before now.
Maybe they have to reach a certain age before their hair all falls out LOL
Yea, I commented about that up higher.
Well, Jean wanted to conquer the world.
Milk chocolate Jeanie in the header, i want a bite to!
It looks like someone has been nibbling. Robert???
Semisweet, milk chocolate, or dark chocolate?
Well, at least there’s one fan. One scared fan. Poor lass.
