Jeanie Bottle 519
The little details on this page really impress me! CD went all out to depict this mental conversation.
As an added bonus, CD created a lovely group shot of his SailorSun.org characters and those from The Heroes of Crash, which you can find on his Patreon (for free) by clicking here:
Well Jean is just waiting for The blue Djinn plan to all crumble and Neil to figure something is off like when Arcelia posed as Jean in a bad seduction attempt worked for what 5 minutes.
So wait, in the last drawing, that was Jeannie influencing Blue Djinn into doing that “wiggle Master” thing.
Guess Jean’s will is too strong for even the Blue Djinn to completely suppress.
Jean’s will may be strong, but her mouth to brain filter is weak, telling the Blue Djinn what she did is so stupid.
Jean… your plan is riding on Neil picking up on this, he might be really smart but he is also an affable dumbass.
Love ya Neil!
Or Neill might be smart enough to not let on that he knows until he has a good way of checkmating Blue. When you’re dealing with genies with semi-phenomenal nearly cosmic powers you want to be sure that your first shot will be decisive, because you probably won’t get a second.
The trolley runs every 20 minutes.
Well, that means every third one hits on the hour. 😉
If your right, then Neil already suspects something and he testing Jeanie out or the Blue Djinn out, because, Jeanie already knows the schedules of the trolly. Because, that a very strange question to ask Jeanie, he could have said just as easily what the time schedule was, but, he didn’t.
Neil isn’t a total fool and can think quickly on his feet, as demonstrated here… https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=03312010
@CayleyGraph – serious, or joke?
What kind of anonymous internet denizen would joke about something as deadly serious as trolley schedules?
Neil reminds me of Dr. Kleiner. A genius whilst being a total idiot.
I think I see… All that we need is for Neil to reject the Blue, and go for Jeanie. And the key here is both Araceli and the Blue Djinn have blue themes… Maybe if he references by colour that will be enough to enact Project Haji Day Banishment, but… If he explicity references Araceli… Would that even count…?
PANEL ONE:
Blue seems to be contemplating SPITTING on Neil!
Nah, that’s just a very severe pout.
Nice group shot; I can understand why the guy on the left seems… distracted…
I’m pretty sure that Bay’s hand isn’t actually touching Auction Guy.
CLANG CLANG CLANG went the trolley…
WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH went the clue…
Rimshot.
You wanted intelligence, but it’s wisdom you need to Sense Motive!
Jean, darling, don’t spill the beans on your plan until after it has been carried out. I swear, pre-emptive gloating has been the downfall of so many protagonists.
And dozens more antagonists.
And in the background: The surf shop that appeared in B-Witch (based on a real surf shop in Cocoa Beach) and that War Mallet poster with the Scarlet Avenger.
Yup. CD likes his background continuity. 🙂
I also like to re-use backgrounds I’ve previously made. (Means less work for me to do on each comic)
where’s the next page?
Looks like the ” two-page-a-week” party is over,
Sadly, I’ve been having a lot of Non-Comic things going on. (Right now I’m Reno’ing my main bathroom in my house) which is eating up my spare time.
Good luck with the renovations.
A thought just occurred to me, we are seeing Jean’s essence reflecting back in the glass. We know this because she is appearing in a pink dress and wearing her hat. We are not seeing Jean as a man, so I’m guessing Jeanie as a female genie has now supplanted the male Jean’s view of herself and now accepts the situation that she is never changing back.
Yes, Jean is more Jeanie than his is Jean now and that is her essemce of who Jeanie is. staring us in the face there. Yes, the image and nature of a female Genie Nature that was installed in her when she first became a Genie, like 9 months to maybe a year ago is showing it impact on how Jeanie see herself and how she starting act like, think like a female Genie. It times like this, that we see how far the old man Jean has merged with the new girl Jeanie to become the new female Genie that we see here. In past episodes, Jeanie expressed the desire to remain and continue her life as a Genie, but, as a male Genie and not as a female Genie. So yea, Jeanie given up going back to being a mortal and doesn’t even want to go back to being a mortal anymore, but, still is thinking about going back to being a man on at least some level, but, even that starting fade too.
So Jeanie is referring to Neil as “Master” now. This could get interesting when she gets her body back.
I don’t think she was referring to Neil as “Master” in the possessed genie sense, I think it was just a description of the “wiggle for Master” move she got Blue to perform.
By the way, how long does this masquerade need to go on? When is Haji Day?
IIRC, it is today, so that means just a few more hours.
Like everything else in Jeanie Bottle, this is in CD time, which seems to be flexible. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a “gotcha” at the end of this chapter when it seems Haji Day is over, but it isn’t. Having crossed the International Date Line several times, I can testify that one doesn’t actually need magic for this to happen.
Ahh, so we see Jean IS still around! Good, good!
Though I am left to wonder, if Niel figures out what is going on, exactly what is he supposed to do about it?
He can “send Jeanie to Haji” by rejecting her as his genie, due to it being Haji Day. What exactly that means, we’re not sure. But Blue *really* doesn’t want it to happen, so we the audience probably *do*.
Imagine Blue’s consternation at being either shoved in a bottle for an eternity (cased in cement to keep him there), or becoming Haji’s latest concubine. The only problem is, what happens to Jeanie?
