Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
I would guess either it’s the right car in the condition it was when the photo was taken or a new condition 1969 Dodge Charger that happens to be the right color, since that’s a color photograph he’s holding (but it’s not an aerial view so it would be missing the flag). Either way, they get a car with lots of life instead of one that will die any minute. The questions are whether they are going to have a lot of customizing to do and did they have anything in the car before it poofed that wouldn’t be in this car since they only specified to make the car appear. Things are not always wrapped up neatly when Jean leaves.
Would asking Jean to make The General Lee indestructible and permanently operable be too much, even if it’s cheeses off Boss Hogg in return? Cooper might miss tuning up the classic car probably.
And again about the white cap. I’m beginning to think that might actually be a retro-50’s restaurant server’s cap. Or is it actually something to do with Jean’s magic, maybe less of it due to the sneezing earlier?
Good thing every thing is back to normal.
Neil is the only thing that makes Jeanie do the right thing when she doesn’t gain any thing from it. It would be nice to see her not act so indifferent to the plight of others.
Jean, in this case was just forgetful over the excitement of getting away from Boss Hogg and that “his” sneezing has stopped. “He” did expressed earlier that “he” understood what it was to be gender-bended by force and wanted to undo this for the Duke Boys if it were possible earlier, remember?
But yeah, Jean does have sensitivity issues sometimes with others. Neil’s just good at being a life coach on morals for Genies it seems. Baby steps.
Jean also didn’t realize he wasn’t connecting with Bell as good as he thought.
There are lots of things in the comic that show He is looking out for him self first. That’s probably why being a creature of servitude is so hard for him. Genies are made to server Jean serves only him self.
If he was looking out for other people he would have fixed Red before leaving. He also would not have wanted to bolt after being freed from the Hogg before fixing this mess.
It is one of the Character flaws that make the plot move in the comic.
Actually, Jeanie has two natures, that why she always so messed up all the time. She has Jean old nature of being a selfish self centered jerk that only serve himself at other expense. Then she has a Genie nature that is the servant part of Jeanie and they do battle with each other. That the primary reason that Jeanie is always flipping out first one way and then the other way. You basically end up with Hot and Cold running crude from Jeanie as does her ditzy blond number and forgetting stuff is part of who Jeanie is.
I like Jean’s reaction in panel 2–“Oh, it’s a car”. Genies can not restore dead people to life, so it’s no wonder that Jean seemed a bit uneasy when thinking that Bo meant a person rather than an object. Once Jean knew what the General looked like, restoring it was simple.
It does look like this arc is winding down, but, there could be a few surprises before this arc finally ends. Depending on what the author want to do with Boss Hogg last wish, we could end up with bad happening yet.
Like Boss Hoggs wanting a longer life, because, he probably in his late 50 or mid 60. Since it his last wish and it would obviously go bad. Here where the Duke boy, Neil, Jeanie, Cooter walk into the sun set leaving Boss Hoggs in what ever state he in or drive into the sun set.
I’m confused how Jean knew about I Dream of Jeannie but doesn’t know about The Dukes of Hazzard. I mean, anyone who fell for Jeannie was sure to fall for Daisy Duke as well …
There in different universes so they never meet. The universe the Jeanie and Neil are in, is similar, but, not exactly like our universe. But, in our universe we see and know both of them. As far as Jeanie is concerned, she in some hick town in the middle of nowhere with few crazy boy’s, a corrupt sheriff and mayor and somebody named Daisy who is some how involved in this mess too.
That all Jeanie knows. Now we know them both, but, they don’t know each other from the TV series like we do.
There in different universes from each other and from the one we are in. The Duke of Hazard County was never in there universe to start with. Jeanie see the Duke boys as some hicks in a back water county in Georgie some where with a crooked sheriff and mayor. Daisy, is just another country hick to her and nothing more.
What a pity.
I bet ya its the wrong car
Does it have the Confederate flag on it?

It’s right there on the bumper sticker.

Aw, i was hoping they’d be stuck as girls.
Unfortunately, even in IDoJB, not everyone can be stuck as girls. 🙁
The joke is a lot better if it just Jeannie stuck permanently, or at least the permanent conversion is used sparingly.
I don’t think i agree. Besides, Jean isn’t the only one stuck as a girl.
I was hoping they’d get accidentally turned into actual genie girls.

I think Jean was a self absorbed ass before he was Genie’ed.
Jenny is right. Jean wasn’t being indifferent, just forgetful. Same thing happened with Red.
Jean also didn’t realize he wasn’t connecting with Bell as good as he thought.

So, the boys are back to normal, and their car is back. It seems like this arc is either wrapped up or about to be wrapped up.
Manhood tied to car.. sounds right.
With the added bonus that the General Lee is in the state
it was when the photograph was taken many years ago.

Normal is shirtless?
I think Jeannie granted herself a wish there.
Nah, Jean just restored them as they were.
Remember that they both lost their shirts shortly after being transformed.

Dang, they are ripped.
C’orse, they’re “just’a good ol’boys”

The Dukes are back and the car’s restored. Boss Hog has been thwarted, the only thing now is perhaps a minor magical mishap due to an errant wish.
Jeannie could have poofed them back into the Duke Boys and left them in their harem outfits.
dont like the white hat.
I’m really hoping for an adams family crossover or the munsters
Why not both? They would creep each other out most likely.
I’m confused how Jean knew about I Dream of Jeannie but doesn’t know about The Dukes of Hazzard. I mean, anyone who fell for Jeannie was sure to fall for Daisy Duke as well …
