Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
I’m guessing Jean isn’t wanting to find out about whatever was in that moonshine that got “her” sick in the first place anymore, now that “she’s” no longer sneezing? *Face-palm*
Looks like Neil will have to research into this stuff for “her” sake, again.
Now the next time the Duke boys and the general lee bother Boss Hogg, they poof back to girls…haha. The white hat has to tie somehow to Hogg’s wish. Or it doesn’t…dangit CD!
However Jean was able to undo what “she” had granted to Boss Hogg once “her” bottle was no longer in his possession. Maybe it no longer applies to both The Duke Boys and The General Lee now and they’re both free to meddle in Boss Hogg’s schemes. We’ll see.
I am thinking the hat staying white has to do with Hogg still having two unused wishes even if he can’t use them due to no-longer having Jennie’s bottle, well time will tell.
Well, the white hat definitely means there still some unfinished business with Boss Hogg and there could be an enchantment on the new General Lee too. Only time will tell or the next few installment of Jeanie Bottle will tell what will happen.
Nope. the modifications would have come back, too. That’s why Cooter says, “If I didn’t know better…”
Visual proof: in the first 2 panels, you can see the custom-painted flag on top, and the name; those are both after-market modifications. So clearly anything that was done to it before it disappeared has been retained – but just fixed up, “good as new” by Jeannie’s magic.
Which makes me wonder if the fact that the Duke boys are so buff, is because they’re “good as new”, too?
Cooter also showed a picture of what the General looked like. Sure, the paint job was almost certainly an after-market modification, but it is visible and Jean(n)ie can create its appearance based on that: a hot-off-the-factory-floor car with a custom paint job. However, if the transmission, engine, or other goodies were tweaked, that might not be something she replicated. On the other hand, I’m sure Cooter can get the boys up and running in no time flat.
That would be odd, with the Duke’s naming the car the General Lee and referring to it in the feminine. Maybe the Duke boys will be turning into girls everytime they get into the General from this point on and then changing back as they get out.
The General (car) is named after the civil war General that’s last name was Lee.
This is why the confederate battle flag is on the roof of the car.
Also the battle flag was not the flag of all the southern states during the civil war. They had a bunch of flags.
I’m inclined to agree that Jeannie’s hat being white means that there’s still some sort of link between her and Boss Hogg. I also suspect that her allergy to “whatever” is one very large dangling ending; it’s going to come back to haunt her again.
Would that even be a comfortable way for a girl to sit? considering Jeanies curves and height?
CD did Jean get shorter as Jeanie? You should go Japanese on the character page height weight blood type ect ect ect .
We see male Jean in panel 1 of page 1, and he’s slightly taller than Neil. By panel 3, when he’s Jeanie, he’s now slightly shorter. Probably about 3-4 inches of change.
Actually, it the other way around, Neils apartment is inside Jean apartment. When Neil went to where his apartment use to be, there was just a blank wall where the door use to be. He when to Jean’s apartment and asked Jean where was his apartment and she pointed over at the door where she put Neil’s apartment. Neil kind of looked at her strangely and then went to his apartment through that door.
um, Jean’s hat is still white from changing her clothes, to getting the Duke Boys and the General Lee back, to poofing them back hoe.
Argh, Yeah! The suspend with that cap is terrible! I hope it lasts 😀
Watch it be that she just forgot to change it back.
I asked CD not to tell me, but there *is* a specific reason that Jean’s hat hasn’t changed back to red. It will be covered in-comic soon.
oh, ok. I was just curious.
I suspect she still owes Hogg a number of wishes since Neil was always her master he got her sort of on loan.
I’m guessing Jean isn’t wanting to find out about whatever was in that moonshine that got “her” sick in the first place anymore, now that “she’s” no longer sneezing? *Face-palm*

Huh, I honesty didn’t think of that possibility.
However Jean was able to undo what “she” had granted to Boss Hogg once “her” bottle was no longer in his possession. Maybe it no longer applies to both The Duke Boys and The General Lee now and they’re both free to meddle in Boss Hogg’s schemes. We’ll see.

So, the General is good as new again. Nice!
Jean has never shown much interest in the technical aspects of things. New car, old car? same diff.
Except, if it’s just like it is off the factory floor, then won’t it be missing those modifications they need?
Nope. the modifications would have come back, too. That’s why Cooter says, “If I didn’t know better…”

I think most of the mods were there to keep the General in one piece after the hard driving he was put through.
I still think the General Lee was a “she.” But I can’t recall a specific reference—I’ve only seen a few episodes of the series…
That would be odd, with the Duke’s naming the car the General Lee and referring to it in the feminine. Maybe the Duke boys will be turning into girls everytime they get into the General from this point on and then changing back as they get out.
I’ve watched many episodes… General Lee is a He.
But is usually refereed to as, “The General”
The General (car) is named after the civil war General that’s last name was Lee.
This is why the confederate battle flag is on the roof of the car.
Also the battle flag was not the flag of all the southern states during the civil war. They had a bunch of flags.
Two updates this week?
Yup, as I mentioned in the note on Tuesday. It’s one of those rare gifts from CD that we fans get a few times a year.
I was kinda hoping that Jeanie would ka-poof Boss Hogg into something amusing. A young black woman comes to mind, but…
Alright Jean. Owning that couch like a Man!!!
Well, it is his/her couch.
Technically, no, it’s not – “Genies aren’t allowed to own anything.” (IDoaJB 67) 😉

Except that it was established that whomever has the bottle is the master and that’s no longer Boss Hogg.
if they have the real bottle.
They do, otherwise she couldn’t have turned them back.
Would that even be a comfortable way for a girl to sit? considering Jeanies curves and height?

Ha I knew it. I knew it I thought It might have be the wrong car
Total bro pose there Jeanie. Also, did she leave her real hat back there? *dun dun dun*
Since Jennie now feels more fulfilled working in the service industry, the white hat may be her symbol for a change in lifestyle.
‘Appartment’?
Well, it /is/ digital. :p
I think Jean’s apartment is within Neils apartment…I think….Robert might know better
Actually, it the other way around, Neils apartment is inside Jean apartment. When Neil went to where his apartment use to be, there was just a blank wall where the door use to be. um, what’s with the black and white Jeannie above the comic?
