Sorry for the late post, folks. Katy accessed the files and got… creative last night. Everything should be back to normal, now.
Call me crazy… but doesn’t anyone else find it sad that Caley doesn’t like her uncle? I mean Rodge might not be aware of it… but I got this suspicion he does know. I just wonder, why the dislike.
I think she is upset that she with her uncle instead of Neil.
Rodge *is* kindof a doofus. She may not “dislike” him so much as find him somewhat annoying to hang out with.
Also, kids of that age (or just about any age below Junior High) are easily bored by “adult” activities such as visits to the post office or the bank–things that are high on utility but low on fun.
The blue genie is about to receive a new master…
In this comic the two aren’t necessarily contradictory.
Ecmniooes are in dire straits, but I can count on this!
The slackers seem devoid of even the curiosity to sniff the contents or to consider that the bottle may, in and of itself, have a certain intrinsic value to the right collector. But the little girl will obviously discover … well, chaos alert everybody. DefCon 1.
& CD, I remember when my kids would access MY files & rearrange things too. Thankfully they are old enough now to know better, especially after I showed the most egregious case what it was like when done with HER files. If she wants to do something with that picture/story/whatever now, she makes a duplicate to own directory. It just took a few years.
Araceli goes from the frying pan to the fire?
This may come as a shock to you all, but a whole lot of mail that can’t be delivered is discarded and eventually destroyed. The main category in our office is standard mail that doesn’t get forwarded—mostly the mailers don’t want it back and it all has to be gone through to make sure nobody’s made a mistake.
It wouldn’t be as casual a matter as these guys are handling it, though…
I really, really, really don’t like this. I remember my childhood and the idea of what a 11/13? Year old will do with wishes is terrifying.
If anyone else remembers Fairly Odd Parents just think of the number of times Timmy nearly destroyed the world WHEN he had a huge book of rules stating all the things he couldn’t do.
Do you suppose Caley will wish herself to be older. It’s a bit of a “wishing” trope.
Or Neil younger.
Or in view of the comic content wish her uncle understood her better and turn Rodge into a girl her age.
Welp, Caley just found her ticket to main-character-dom.
Maybe. The sailors found the same ticket, and they left the story a long way back.
CD got tired of writing in Greek.
Is this a dramatic pause?
Things are going to get more lively soon. If she wishes her uncle was more exciting, or Neil was her dad, things will get very interesting indeed.
If she wanted Neil to be not her dad, but related … Uncle Rodge could get a “librarian” wife. Auntie Natalie.
Then again, Aracelli has a crush on Neil as well, so I don’t see her putting that spin on it.
I *like* that idea! But sadly, I think Elliptico is right.
I just want to see more Natalie. She’s hot!
Hmmmm Neil gets a new redheaded engineering fiancee to Jeanie and Callies annoyance?
I’ll bet that Araceli has never had a little girl for a master before, and will probably begin by giving Caley a big old hug–which, of course, will annoy Caley a bit. But that won’t stop Araceli from doing her best–as Araceli sees it–at least until Araceli realizes that the guy Caley wants is the guy Araceli wants..
Now, assuming that Caley opens the bottle when Rodge isn’t around, it may be some time before Araceli realizes that Caley’s love interest is the same as her own, giving time for some seriously funny magic.
One thing that might happen is that Araceli will summon Neil for Caley, or take her to Neil. If Neil gets yanked out, Jeanie will notice and accuse Sam of not playing fair–and maybe Jeanie will retaliate by doing something to Derek, possibly providing yet another hot new pole dancer for The Hiram. Hey, it’s been entirely too long since we’ve been back there…
Everyone here is assuming that Caley will get her hands on it. Given that Rog knows about Jeanie it’s fair to say that he’d want first dibs on any strange bottles that might turn up, regardless of who spotted it first.
can’t wait to find out what she says
I think the poor girl’s fingers are being squeezed just a bit too tightly…..
It does look like her fingertips have turned blue from oxygen deprivation . . .
Oh my gosh, how did I miss that?
It’s fixed now.
Do the Genie rules allow one genie to reverse legitimate wishes granted by another genie? Say Caley wishes for something that Neil doesn’t like, can Neil have Jeanie undo it?
I think (just a theory from past strips) no in the general sense but yes for genie lords.
I just noticed something in last week’s strip: The POOF! when the package appears has pink smoke, not the blue smoke associated with Araceli. Does this mean it’s Jeanie’s magic? Or some other pink-toned genie?
It looks red to me.
It is definitely more red than Jean’s pink poofs.
I don’t think bottle genies can work magic on the outside world when they are inside their bottles, and Jeanie has probably forgotten that she had the Greeks send that package.
It’s Lord Guano’s actually. I seen earlier in this story arc when he teleported Jeanie back to Neil’s apartment for improper genie-conduct.
Little girl with Genie at her command? LET IT BEGIN! LET IT BEGIN! LET IT BEGIN!!!!!!
I sense were going to be left hanging with this situation. It’s back to the Genie/Witch fight with us.
Nice Bunny. ;>)
