A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
It’s actually a fairly rare ability. Guano himself seems unable of doing so and he is a lord. And honestly, so far Kazom is the only character from JB to come to mind, able to do so.
What if Natalie says something like “I wish you had a pair of your own”. Araceli might find herself compelled to grant that wish, and chaos would ensue.
Well, Nat, what did you expect? That he was going to want to talk thermodynamics?
Is it rude? Yeah, so what? What exactly are you going to do about it?
Brutal honesty here: That’s why you’re on the boat, dear. To be ogled.
Is it fair? No, not remotely. Either get in the water with the kids, and try to have a good time that way, or stretch out on a towel and sun bathe. Oh, wait, no, you’ll burn. Maybe Araceli can help with that.
That will lead to some interesting tan lines for Neil if they get changed back before they fade. But, with the problems Jennie is having that might not be a issue for awhile.
Honestly I’m not sure why Neil/Natalie agreed to go. Sure, Jeanie transformed her but unlike the Vegas storyline there isn’t even a thin plot point that requires her to get on the yacht – let alone put on a bikini. I suppose you could say that she fears what Jeanie would do if she didn’t go, which just gets back to the point that Neil needs to be more assertive with Jeanie.
Basically, because Rouyaa had freefall sex with Neil in Jeanie’s body,
?comic=jeanie-bottle-752
resulting in Jeanie being a bitch, and Neil failing to assert his Mastership.
?comic=jeanie-bottle-762
In other words, plot handwaving.
I’ve been thinking about his, and I’ve decided I’m being too harsh.
Jeanie’s distressed that Neil has no idea what it’s like to have sex as a woman, while she’s had to go through with it twice, neither time with her wimpish master. She’s doesn’t give Neil credit though–at least part of his wimpishness is actually Neil having the decency to remember that Jeanie is really Jean. We know, of course, that if their positions were reversed, Jean would not return the courtesy to genie-Nat.
Which was the point of the Corruption story, taking that one dreamscape slap on the butt during Neil’s final wish (page 75) as a baseline for what Jean might end up doing if the roles were reversed.
If Araceli will be Neil’s replacement genie, does that mean Caley gets a replacement genie too?
I can also see Caley being the type of person who will unthinkingly say something like “I wish we could just share you as a genie.” Araceli then grants a wish by either ageing Neil down to match Caley or ageing her up to match Neil so they all can live in one house. Either way, hilarity ensues.
I’m 99% sure she doesn’t. During Jeanie’s sneeze-a-thon Neil was transformed into just about everything else except Natalie, and unless Rodge told her off screen (always a possibility to be retconned by CD), there’s no way she’d know.
I don’t agree. I’ve been wondering why Rodge invited Neil to join him on the yacht as Natalie. Sure, he’s been attracted to Nat pretty much since his introduction in the series, but wanting to take Natalie specifically and then introducing her as his fiancee makes me wonder if there’s something more going on here. He’s never really been as big of a hound as he appears. After all, he had custody of the bottle while subbing for Jean in New York and didn’t command Jeanie to grant any wishes. Similarly, when Neil’s brain chemistry was altered to the point that she was kissing him passionately (#448-449) and making moves on him at the movies (#470), Rodge didn’t take advantage of the situation. (If he had, Natalie wouldn’t have been home planning to rock his world in #480; she’d already be doing it.)
Those are all interesting points.
In New York, after talking with Neil, he may have been scared to death of crossing Jeanie so that might explain his hands off approach to her bottle. Later, when dodging Agent Anderson, it may be that he was more concerned for her safety than getting grabby with her even though she practically threw herself at him, twice (and impressed Belle in the process). Later, Jeanie interrupted Natalie’s plans to rock his world, and if she’d been ten minutes later this would be an entirely different conversation.
So, if Rodge is not the grubbing hound dog that Major Healey was in the show, what could possibly be his motive for naming Natalie as his fiancé except for the fact that they both told Belle that they were dating. Could it be that Rodge lacks the confidence to actually date women and Natalie is safe?
This brings me to an awkward conclusion. At the end of the strip, after Jeanie finally accepts the fact that she’s near immortal and female and (eventually) a mother, she moves on and Natalie ends up with Rodge (with a part time job as a dancing librarian for all you pervs).
That’s a good guess. I won’t be surprised if you’re right.
However, Araceli had the same expression in the last strip, and Dominic’s not in sight.
Also, Dominic’s a bit young for those shenanigans. To him, Caley’s likely just another friend, although for reasons he doesn’t quite understand, he wouldn’t be quite as rough and tumble with her as he might with another boy.
Dominic has a crush on a cute little red head. If he gets caught kissing her on the cheek–Araceli does have a habit of going overboard. Car through the theater screen, locking Neil in stocks and smashing a maneating plant with a motorboat. Dominic could easly end up a hop-frog.
They are very nice breasts, at least. Rodge is doing the best he can. Maybe you should, too, Natalie! 😛 Enjoy your last weekend before it all becomes very, very confusing.
Yeah, genies can sense magic enchantments on other I believe.
Is that automatic? Or do they have to think to look for it?
It’s actually a fairly rare ability. Guano himself seems unable of doing so and he is a lord. And honestly, so far Kazom is the only character from JB to come to mind, able to do so.
I wish there were none with that ability.
Guano seem to be … underqualified in many regards.
But they don’t necessarily know what that enhancement is.
When Guano first saw Natalie he mistook her for Jeanie.
Rodge just needs a pair of his own, that may take care of the problem.
When Araceli finds out that Neil is currently female for the sake of Rodge’s gratification, she is likely to girlify Rodge as a punishment.
What if Natalie says something like “I wish you had a pair of your own”. Araceli might find herself compelled to grant that wish, and chaos would ensue.
If you’ll ever try to become a scriptwriter I would definitely vote for you
Thanks for the link in the description, I’d completely forgotten about that.

Natalie lives in Florida, I’m pretty sure she understands the purpose of sun block.
Somebody’s gonna have to help her smear it on, and she sure won’t ask Rodge.
Got that right.
Caley might help her.

If Araceli finds out about Natalie’s origins, would she still kiss Natalie?
I doubt it. Araceli strikes me as being 100% heterosexual.
Why would age change be necessary for them to live in one house?
Please don’t age Caley up, Arisia was bad enough.
Who’s Arisia?
Long forgotten in the pit of despair for something she didn’t do… I suspect we will never see her again.
She’s a young Green Lantern that had a crush on Hal Jordan. Then she aged herself up and they started dating.
Ah I was thinking of Jehane. Forgot her name. Poor genie.
I can’t remember. Does Araceli know who Natalie really is? She doesn’t look at all happy.
I’m 99% sure she doesn’t. During Jeanie’s sneeze-a-thon Neil was transformed into just about everything else except Natalie, and unless Rodge told her off screen (always a possibility to be retconned by CD), there’s no way she’d know.
“Focus, dude!” “I *am* focusing!”
Araceli is Guano’s niece. Shouldn’t she be required to attend Aunt Jeanie’s ceremony?
Interesting thought, and when disaster strikes the only genie that knows where they’re at will be stuck as a lady in waiting… waiting.
Rodge is just so, SO predictable.

in Jeanie Bottle 258 Caley looked like a boy????????
tomboy
In panel 3–I think Araceli is going to be keeping an eye on Dominic.
That’s a good guess. I won’t be surprised if you’re right.

That’s not Araceli’s style. A taser-like electric shock if Dominic tries to kiss Caley, but not a transformation.
That would beat getting a motor boat thrown at you.
They are very nice breasts, at least. Rodge is doing the best he can. Maybe you should, too, Natalie! 😛 Enjoy your last weekend before it all becomes very, very confusing.
If Araceli sees a shark in the water will it end up in Neils bedroom again?
That’s a Jeanie thing, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Shark makes an appearance.
He’s Rodge.
