Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
A former Genie Lord, Kazom is a 3000+ year old Genie who exists in the form of a witch familiar while still serving as a genie to a teenage boy in California.
A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
Yes, Jeanie has several times the magical power reserve that Rouyaa is used to, so she may even be striking with more force than she intended. It’s fortunate that Kazom is one of the few beings whom Rouyaa would trust in this situation.
He’s under heavy sedation. Anesthetized, more like. In the last strip, we saw that both Jeanie and Kazom had started to succumb. Note the magical vapor arising from the golden box in the strip before that.
I am assuming your joking. But in the event you weren’t…
A witch’s familiar is there animal campaign, usually a cat. In MelvinC. we learnt they can talk. Therefore if you see a talking cat in the JeaniBottle universe, then it’s a safe bet the cat is a witch’s familiar.
Genies and Witches do not have a very friendly relationship. Hence the blast.
1: To throw in, as in pitching a baseball or pitching an idea.
2: To set up, as in pitching a tent.
3: To rotate about a transverse axis such that the nose points up or down (pitch vs. roll and yaw).
Noun:
1: A thing which has been pitched (e.g. to catch a pitch).
2: A black, tar-like substance made from tree resin, used in waterproofing and caulking wood.
“John pitched the pitch-covered ball as intently as though he were fighting a pitched battle, while Mary, singing in a high-pitched voice, pitched a tent.”
I’ve seen various reactions to talking cats before (including a nonfictional example involving a Zoom filter, which some other readers have probably also seen), but “Shoot First, Ask Questions Later” is a new one on me.
While we’ve seen modern witches can be both decent people and elitist punks, it seems the witches have skeletons in their closet if a genie from the past’s first instinct is to attack what she thinks is a witch’s familiar on sight in SELF-DEFENSE.
I believe that it was stated that the Blue Djinn allied with several of the more malevolent Witch groups during his attempted coup against Haji. Since Rouyaa is firmly in Haji’s camp, an unidentified Witch is thus a suspected Enemy Of Haji.
According to Kazom, the first witches were born when Solomon subjugated geniekind with their totems and stole magic from the Azoth itself. Granted genies had enslaved humanity in the first place, soooo…
Suffice to say, both groups have a long and complicated history, and rarely get along.
Well Kazom talk fast and be careful what you tell her before she fire for her future punishment.
who knew Rouyaa packed a punch?!
A well trained Genie with all the power stolen by the blue djin
I’m surprised Kazom got out of the way

And Neil slept through that.

If Kazom was a familiar, shouldn’t she have recognized him?

The vagueness of similar words in the English language has always amused me. (“Use the word ‘pitch’ in five different meanings.”)
Pitch, transitive verb:
1: To throw in, as in pitching a baseball or pitching an idea.
2: To set up, as in pitching a tent.
3: To rotate about a transverse axis such that the nose points up or down (pitch vs. roll and yaw).

Maybe Rouyaa with her blue jinn powers can release Kazom his familiar prison?
