Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
I would say this speaks a lot about how good time she had. She’s not annoyed. She’s really disguised, and it’s at least partially because sees it as real option.
Jean’s teenage Genie body should not be drinking cause in the Dukes of Hazard chapter Jean got a cold from it. Or maybe It’s psychological cause there is someone else.
You may have noticed that self-awareness is not Jean’s strong suit. And maybe this is one of the reasons why. Maybe he’s always felt like a loser deep down inside and will do anything to keep that feeling at bay. It would explain everything from his string of bedroom conquests to his pathological lack of anything remotely resembling introspection to his total inability to anticipate consequences and his apparent failure to learn from his actions. Maybe this page sums him up perfectly: constantly fleeing from the loser self he finds too intolerable to even acknowledge, let alone confront.
Maybe Jean lives in the perpetual now because anything else hurts too much.
@Pilgrim – I’ll agree that foresight is definitely NOT Jeanie’s stronger skill set. This plan and a few past others of hers were evident of it. Between having his most recent girlfriend savagely dumping him just before prom and now his future, djinnifed-female self having just rejected having sex with him, Jean’s psyche and confidence are both now very likely scarred here. Jeanie, whatever she’ll notices it or not, had done some self-inflicting wounds onto her younger self that likely caused Jean to grow up into the person that he did, or will grow up into.
Hopefully Jeanie will either do some damage-control here before going back to her current timeline or take this experience into account for understanding why she became this way.
Wasn’t exactly what I was expecting, but, I guess that will work too Jeanie. There not too much that Jeanie can do to her younger male self without screwing up the time line too badly. Like she can’t turn teen Jean into a girl and then leave him that way.
Good thing Jean was too drunk to remember this moment.
Either that or he repressed the memory because of this moment, and his experiences after would explain some of future Jean’s actions.

How ironic that the one who kicked him down the hardest turned out to be…himself.
Hmm. That might be the booze; Jeanie with the body of an 18-year-old girl may not have the alcohol tolerance of 18-year-old Jean. OR it might be that darn hubun jadid; Jeanie’s supposed to be Mrs. Guano now. OR maybe she’s pregnant.
Morning sickness? Perhaps the Hubun Jadid is kicking in. I’m interested in where she poofed to. I’m not sure she has a hotel room to retreat to anymore and if she returns to her bottle, doesn’t that leave Natalie alone in the past?
Which brings up an interesting point. Genies return to their bottle when they sleep, did Jeanie stay up all night after binge watching movies? If she slept, she would have returned to her bottle like she did back on page 10.
That’s a point that bothers me. The last time we saw her bottle in this chapter it was in Neil’s room in the apartment he ‘s sharing with some others. If the door is unlocked or somèone has a key like their landlod or someone who doesn’t need a key like the guy who stole it from Ms. Eden enters the room and picks up the bottle, he or she would summon Jeanie. Maybe that has already happened. Her poof looked the same when Neil used her bottle to summon her away from her duel with Samantha.
My first guess is that Jeanie is going off to collect Natalie and say “We’re leaving. NOW.” This will likely interrupt whatever Natalie is currently doing.
My guess is, that Natalie is having chase match with Danny ‘Bishop. Kind of a battle of the titans when it comes to playing chase here between the two best players.
@Joyce+Melton – Given the context of the dialogue and timing, I would sooner think it’s about having sex with “himself”. Maybe the booze along with the Hubun Jadid and the younger body Jeanie changed herself into might be playing factions here, but those thoughts aren’t coming up as strongly as Jeanie rejecting her past self right now.
I am going to go with the rejection of her teen self here too. There still a lot of Jean in Jeanie even now, but, Jeanie has also changed a lot in the last year or so that she been a female genie. It show that Jeanie is a whole lot different than Jean is now after having a head on collision with her younger male self. Jeanie is and isn’t the same person than the teen Jean. About the only thing they have in common now is there memories when she was him and even that is horribly twisted now too.
Given the way that younger Jean has been acting m, I think that Jeanie’s revulsion is not simply towards having sex with a male (as Jeanie has previously seriously considered having sex with male Neil), but is mainly that her past self, seen from a third-person perspective, revolts her. While Jeanie is unlikely to have any real epiphany, she may still exclaim “I can’t believe I used to be like that”.
@tolich – Given the nutty thinking sense that Jeanie tends to have, she could do that and then just mind-wipe the memory from her head. Can Genies erase their own memories magically maybe?
By the way, I just have one guess about this shot, but in your opinion it will be too rough. Sometimes it just seems that she hooked up with him, and does not quite remember how it all was. And she came out as if nothing had happened. Maybe because of alcohol, or because of ejaculation male – in general, she wants to vomit and turn into something there (I don’t know exactly what).
And there is also the possibility that the idea of having sex with her younger teen male self was that revolting to Jeanie too that she could not take it. That it actually turns her stomach inside out and make her want to barf all over the place too. Remember that Jeanie was only going out to have a good time and to try and save some dignity for Jean her younger self and then he pulls some crap like this. Teen Jean is completely and totally out of line here and try to act like it OK to do stuff like this.

Remember in the future, most of the women that he has yet to meet him, setup a hate website about Jean and to warn other women about this guys. Jeanie doesn’t like what she see and it make her sick to look at it now.
