I guess Neil and Jeanie will be forced to vote by absentee ballot this year.

Since Neil and Jean are both in girls bodies it would be iffy trying to vote in person even if Jean can get to the poling place.
Well, these days voter ID that changed from M to F wouldn’t raise the eyebrows nearly as much as it would have twenty years ago.
Re-reading this I think Lahab is not threatening Jean, she’s offering a potential solution. Because Jean would have to be willing to cooperate for any “fix” to stick. Jean’s just too stubborn otherwise.

You’d think that a being that could in theory (with work) change their gender and sex would be a little more open-minded. But they’ve been hanging around humans most of the time and have likely picked a lot up from us. Not alwasy good things.
