Formerly male, Agent Anderson ran afoul of a "distraction" from Jeanie, and has since been stuck as "Anne Anderson". She's currently assigned to the Orlando office of DHS.
A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
I had predicted that Natalie would buy more than just a bra, and it appears that I was right. But I still want to see her buy some lingerie for the next time Rodgie comes by. 😉
No, I am betting that there going to run into each other before they leave the shop and about the time that Rodge show up to try and save the day, but, a little bit too late. Like nice try Rodge, but, you don’t get a cigar for your efforts.
I think your crackpot idea would be fun! Though I’m not sure how well Nat could help her out. She doesn’t exist have experience with TG-based marital troubles.
Yeah, but fortunately, Natalie knows someone who might be induced to lend a hand; a certain psychological therapist with a taste for strange situations… Belle!
If he did not meet her then how does “Rodgie” know about her then? It isn’t as if many people know about Natalie, and would warn him about it.
Anne is a federal agent. They are trained to notice things and remember faces. Not to mention that certain little incident that Natalie was involved in that made Anne want to find her! I am pretty sure it would be hard to forget anyone you met in that situation!
As for that crackpot theory. I do like it, but Neil is a nerd. A very pretty one at the moment, but still a nerd inside. With no known history of romance that we are aware of. Pretty sure that not having any skill or luck in his own relationships would make it hard to help others with theirs.
Though… since she now seems to have some knack for fashion, maybe she has developed other girl powers as well? And maybe a newfound interest in matchmaking and relationship stuff as well? So… it is possible. As is Agent Anne helping Natalie with her relationship too!
There are a dozen ways Rodge could have found out. Gossip travels fast. He could have been told by someone Anderson interviewed, or he could have overheard someone talking about the Fed who was looking for a woman called Natalie. But if he had met her, he wouldn’t have said that the Federal agent “could be anyone”. He’d know exactly what she looked like.
And its been months since Anderson has seen Natalie, and that was only for a short time, and in a different environment and dressed completely differently. Also: this is a comic, and magic is involved. So yeah, she might not recognize Nat immediately.
Clearly? The next line of text Rodgie sends Natalie could be “The agent’s a woman.”
However, I do like your new crackpot theory. I see Agent Anderson struggling to explain her marital troubles without revealing she’s been turned into a woman. That could happen even if Natalie begins to wonder if the woman in the next fitting room might be the federal agent who’s looking for her.
I don’t think she will try to arrest her. She just wants to turn back to normal and might ask what she has to do for that to happen. She’ll probably do anything short of betraying state secrets… if that was the demand though…
“Talking to is…the woman in the next stall over. I doubt either…is a federal agent.”
Of course this random woman in the next stall over is in fact not only a fed, but another magic-trans. I mean, OF COURSE. Why not? As a matter of statistics, it’s ridiculous. But with a genie as the nexus between them? OF COURSE.
And somehow this astronomical coincidence of narrative causality makes Natalie stupid?
I saw this same line of thought being put forward by commenters on SapphireFoxx’s latest comic, and it royally pissed me off. People were assuming that the characters had the same knowledge that the readers had, and were “sooooo stupid” for making decisions that we know are bad based on reader knowledge, but that the characters would have absolutely no way of knowing were bad based on their knowledge.

Yes, several of us kind of made that prediction. Making that prediction was almost a given that it was going to happen.
Anybody betting that Agent Anderson will leave the shop before Natalie leaves the fitting room? I didn’t think so.

Clearly, Rodge has not yet met Agent Anderson in the flesh. Else he would know who to warn Neil to look for.
Now, the question becomes whether Anne will recognize Natalie, without a picture to compare her to.
New Crackpot Theory: Anne will wind up confiding in Natalie about her marital troubles, and Natalie will try to help.

Tom, check out the texts. If Rodge had met Anne, he wouldn’t have said that the Federal agent “could be anyone”.
And does anybody else see the upcoming comedic bliss of “Rodgie” barging into a lingerie boutique?
And has anyone else noticed how he is being referred to as “Rodgie” now?
I’m curious, doesn’t Anne think that it’s rather dangerous to arrest a person with magical abilities?

@LeadFootRT: Anyone besides me? Yesterday?
Merry Christmas, all.
Merry Christmas, indeed!
It would seem that Natalie is the kind of person who can put 2 and 2 together and get 3.
Huh? Why do you say that?

it makes her stupid because of how long he’s spent getting into the utterly improbable as an effect of being friends with Jeanie.
That aside, love your series and have a very merry christmas.
so her intelligence is high but her wisdom score is a 3. On a 3 to 18 scale.
