Ah, yes, the Disney version of Aladdin. 😉 Didn’t Kazom say new genies followed the form of genie they expected, thus Jean being an “I Dream of Jeannie” style. So, if Caley were to become a genie she’d be a large blue genie who sounds and wisecracks like Robin Williams. Nice pop culture reference.
So, Caley and Marvin anyone? I can see them meeting and becoming either friends or enemies.
IT would be amusing to watch Her trying to cope with child’s vision of a genie while discovering the modern world and having her own struggles. I really hope this wont just be a “REVENGE!” type of story/chapter.
I doubt it Ari didn’t really have a reason for revenge given its Jeanie’s actions that led to her being freed and I think Caley’s more I want attention than I want him to suffer.
If Ari met Aladdin, was she one of the Djinn in the story? If so, it would seem that she changed focci at some point (The two Djinn in the original story were in a lamp and a ring.)
Indeed welcome back and I love Ari’s expression when confronted not with disbelief in Genies but disbelief that a genie would appear without singing and dancing animals.
What was the name of that OLD cartoon that was a collection of shorts of a boy who had a genie at his command? And the opening stills showed he found the lamp finishing? The genie’s name was Abudabi or something?
Hakushon Daimaō was the name of the series, and the boy had a whole family of genies. The little girl genie later got her own series, Akubi Girl. And Akubi-girl’s bottle looks exactly like the evil bottle the demon Mara uses to call forth the Lord of Destruction in one of the early Oh My Goddess! arcs.
It was called Jeannie. It ran with the Flinstones hour in the early seventies. Baboo was the large djinn. “Yapple Dapple!” was his phrase. Funfact. THe character of Corey was voiced by none other than Mark Hamill.
And the voice of Junior Genie Baboo was supplied by Joe Besser, who is best known for playing a VERY overgrown little kid on Abbott and Costello’s TV series, and for being the guy who became the third stooge with Moe and Larry after Shemp passed away. Rumor has it that his heart wasn’t really in being a stooge — he wouldn’t take a pie in the face!
It’s not really relevant, and I’m coming over a year late, but according to the original story, Aladdin was Chinese. (But they had no real idea what China was actually like, so it comes across as a suspiciously Arabic/Muslim China.)
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!
How about some magic?
Ahh.
Prince Caleeeeey…..

Meanwhile, back at the beach . . .
Welcome back!
There’s no pleasing kids these days!
There were no talking animals in Aladdin.
(Talking animals would creep me out, personally.)
Oh… DANCING animals.
Never mind.
No talking animals in Aladdin? Doesn’t Iago count?
Well… parrot.
Being sapient was his ‘superpower’.
And Abu also I suppose.
It’s good to see you again. 😀
Guess Araceli likes her men without facial hair. XD
I think more clean facial hair than none.
Like Neil’s magnificent beard.
Perfect response!

So far, Ariceli has given no indication that she knows that Caley is a girl.
