Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
Good question. It can’t be out of fear that his cell phone is being listened to by the spooks, unless Rodge is being really stupid–the phone in his room is MORE likely than his cell phone to be tapped, not less. He should be using any phone OTHER than one that is registered in his name (or “Natelie’s”).
I think, he is using his own cellphone, but you know, today’s cellphones are not exactly so much mobile, like cellphones years ago, because it must be on charger more often. Sometimes, in worse cases, nearly permanently.
Yeah, I asked CD about this. The 4-panel format made it unworkable to show off just how much facepalming went on before Jeanie teleported to Rodge’s room.
The impression I got was that Rodge didn’t say he knew Jeanie was a magic-wielding genie until that point, and Jeanie was keeping up the pretense that she was human. And her threat at the end was about keeping the genie bit secret, not being embarrassed about forgetting her own magic powers.
Yeah, that was my first impression, too. But CD disabused me of that notion. She’s telling him not to reveal to Neil that she could have gone to Vegas just that easily.
To be honest, I basically kept forgetting to draw it. So I dropped it from Jeanie’s usually outfit. Though there is a poll to see if we should bring it back
Jean didn’t want to go to Vegas after all, and just kept the pretense to guilt Neil? More likely, she was planning a prank.
How could Neil not realize she could? I just assumed he didn’t care, or maybe was happy not to have to deal with her. So the question would be how could Jean not realize Neil would realize, but it’s Jean.
Is Jean answering Neil’s phone? Covering for his absense? Or has Rodge dialed Jean? How did he get his number?
Rodge clear said something about calling Neil because he’d know what to do, and about the time he realized Neil was not going to answer, Jeanie picked up the phone. Probably covering for Neil, or more likely, just being nosy about who was calling and why.
Remember early on Jean moved someones apartment into someone else (can’t remember if it was his into Neils or vice versa and I don’t want to use phone bandwidth looking for it.
That would be a female toad that is pole dancing.
That would be tad-pole dancing to be exact!
AH! but Toads do not go through a TADPOLE stage ;D
I shall blame you unto my dying days for putting that image in my head.
Why is Rodge using the hotel phone and not a cell phone?

That’s what I assumed. That it was a mobile phone on the charging lead.
Cell phone charging cables aren’t generally coiled like a traditional handset phone wire.
Even if the phone was bugged Jean did not say anything incriminating to anyone listening. She just hung up on some crazy person.
Turning him into a toad seems like a pretty good idea…
Why not turn some people into toads?–the strip could use a bit of TF as well as the TG. could widen its appeal 😉
I just regret that we didn’t get to see the look of realization on her face…

Thought the same thing :B that actually makes more sense in context but oh well
What happened to Jeanie’s veil? That’s my favorite part of the harem costume.
To be honest, I basically kept forgetting to draw it. So I dropped it from Jeanie’s usually outfit. Though there is a poll to see if we should bring it back
With 2% precincts reporting, it looks like the “no” choice is taking an early, commanding lead.
Any, did Natalie tell tell Jeanie about her being a genie when she told him she was really a dude? Bring back Jeanie’s genie veil!
Yes. It was just in-between strips
Jean enter stage right.

I just figured that Rodge was using Neil’s phone. I am sure Jean’s number would be there.

Hoping Roger traps Jean in a bottle!
It would be funny if somehow she ended up being Rodges jeanie, he would probably try to use her to do something stupid which would backfire horribly.
As opposed to the stuff that she normally does, which backfires horribly.
That would be totally fair.
