I Dream of Another Jeanie Bottle 3
Oh… oh myyyyyyyy!!!
EDIT: OH. MY. GOD. I cannot believe this. The curse that’s transforming poor Anne here seems to have rubbed off on me. I left out a page AGAIN.
So yeah, the page that originally appeared here is supposed to be page 4, as I had somehow managed to completely miss Page 3 when Hachi sent it to me. In my defense, he put it in a cloud folder that was sorting by upload date instead of Name, so it was easy to miss the file.
Anyway, now this post shows both Page 3 and Page 3a, plus 3a now has corrected dialog, since I copy edited the original text without the knowledge that Page 3 existed.
This artwork transformation scene has left me speechless I dont know what to say about it first its too amazing. Hey can he do one of Jean turning into Jeanie?
That would be a good challenge for Hachimitsu-ink since the artist’s usually making female erotic djinnications.
That would be really cool to see!
Hey now this is a question if you could answer Cd Rudd and Robert okay we know there are witches and warlocks well what happens if they pick up a empty genie bottle are the immune or Geniefied?
Great question! I’ll leave it to CD to answer that. Or not answer that. Who knows!
I do have some ideas about that, though they may not be as dramatic as you may think.
Still, I do need to consult them with CD first!
* Witches are human’s that have learnt to cast spells and make brews (some imbued with a little bit of magical energy, EG Melvin)
* Genies are beings basically made of Magic
* When a human picks up a empty totem, they become a genie.
* If a witch picks up a empty totem, well, witches are humans. So I can’t see any reason a witch wouldn’t become a genie.
The question would be, would the Ex-witch be able to cast witch magic when they are a magical being.
(Mind you, this isn’t canon at the moment. Just where I would lean give the senerio or a Withc picking up an empty Totem)
Easy its your and Robert comic you make that choice when its time. But thanks for the awnser it helped to know new rules for genies.
@CD Rudd – good to see you. How’re you doing?
Still kicking.
As a real life witch, scientist and professional Science Fiction writer myself I would like to intrude upon this conversation.
Rudd has this correct, a Witch triggering a Genie Trap would become a Genie, they are human after all. There is though no logical or illogical reason that a Witch would then lose their original abilities just as a human turned Genie does not lose or gain morals. An evil human would be an evil Genie for example.
Therefore, and in short, a Witch turned Genie will retain their Witch based powers as well as the ability to use them as they wish. Now the Elephant in the room is this; Mr. Rudd has already stated that Genies are ‘born’ with a limited pool of power, upon using it they ‘die’ (perhaps become human again?) Witches have access to spells that stop aging and regain expended energy among other things. Therefore, is it possible that a Witch-Genie could be immortal?
Inquiring minds want to know.
That would make a pretty cool cast member a genie who was once a former witch. I think people would like to see that.
The way I see it witch’s and the like pull in magic form the universe and make it do some limit things. Genie’s have a large pool of it and have near unlimited things they could do with it. Witch’s have unlimited amount of magic to work with but limit control. IE like a value that wants to stay shut on you. Genie’s have unlimited control but a limit pool. A witch that keeps her powers after geniefication could be really powerful as you would have the unlimited control as well as a way of recharging that pool of energy. The only limiting factor on this being would be the recharge rate.
@Reese Dorrycott
Witches have the ability to delay ageing, not stop it. And the djinn version of ageing is competently different from the human one, because djinns as thou said are made of magic, they are not biological. Once they have used up their magic, they are nothing, ergo they disapear (dies).
A witch-djinn would possibly be able to use their witch powers, but at best that would simply not drain their djinn powers as they are not using djinn magic
However their ability to prolong their lifespan would not work, as that is specifically related to senescence.
However djinns can be thousands of years old, so they would properly live far longer that way anyway
It my turn to give you my opinion right wrong or otherwise on the subject of Genie, and Witches. Here it is:
1. Either a witch can’t become a Genie or they can become a Genie, but, they lose there powers to be a witch. Genie magic and witch magic is completely incompatible with each other and can’t exist within the same person. Genie are made up out of magic and co-exist with witch magic, which is some other kind of magic altogether. Now if the Genie use to be a witch, he or she may remember how it use to be or how the spell use to be done, but, they can’t do that no more, because there Genie now.
There are two types of witches, but, first one I go over isn’t the one that the Jeanie Bottle uses, but, it will be the second group of witches that I go over.
1. The first group of witches are regular people with a regular life span. They have nothing special about the, but, they do cast spell on other people and such. But, they have no power of there own. So what they can do is fairly limited to what they can do.
2. We shall call them the Bewitched group or Samantha and her twitching of the nose magic, which is the bases of the second group magic powered people in the Jeanie Bottle and Melvin Chronicle world of reality is. The witches of an off set of human race that been empowered with super natural magic powers. How they got that power is never discussed or mentioned on the show. We only know they have those powers. Here what we know about them.
A. They live longer than the regular humans do, like maybe a few hundred year, but, the do grow old and die eventually.
B. They do have certain powers that resides within them and they also have a spell book so they make things happen. They can’t fold there arms together and blink there eye like a Genie together to make things happen the way they do. They have a different rule book that they operate under to do there magic.
C. A witch will some time use a familiar to help him or her augment there witches power to help them do some on some of thing they want to do or need done. So we have another sub species magic creature that the witches have created for there purposes too.
So who is going to be her master?
And will Guano be making an appearance to help guide her in her new role?
Is this cznon?
Nope, still a filler. It’s just really, really awesome.
Guano never seems to show up until after someone opens the bottle. Now who will that be?
Another question: Could this be the same shop where Jean found Rouyah’s bottle?
If I recall correctly, Jean found Rouyaa’s bottle on the floor when he moved into her old apartment.
Nope. Jean moved into Andy’s old apartment. Rouyaa (Mrs Eden) was still living in her own apartment next door.
Then, while Jean was moving in, he left the hall door unlocked, and a thief snuck into Rouyaa’s place and stole the bottle. (See IDoJB #399) Apparently the thief then sold the bottle to a shop, where Jean later bought it as a gift for Belle.
So, Jean actually set into action the very sequence of events leading to his own genie-fication.
A bit of poetic justice, there.
Ohhh, I had completely misinterpreted/misremembered that scene. Thanks for the correction.
Robert, How did my post get duplicated? Can you remove that?
Done.
When the thief took Rouyaa’s bottle why didn’t he become the genie of the bottle?
@1917:
You have to open the bottle. The thief undoubtedly just sold it without trying to peek inside.
No stopper is shown in the original comic, although there is a “pop” when the magic activates. And there isn’t anything that looks clearly like a stopper in the flashback panel (#161).
@Tom:
But a stopper DID show up at one point – Araceli summoned it when she corked Jeannie up for a while. So it’s possible that was around all along, and just was never explicitly shown. (Some of the early comics were a bit short on detail.)
@Tom:
It’s certainly possible that it’s the same one. After all, how many magical hock shops would you expect to find in a place the size of Cocoa Beach?
Well I mean Cocoa Beach is an entirely “fictional town in the fictional land of Florida,” so I imagine as many as the plot requires.
@Mulgarath – like the “magical land of Canada” from Scott Pilgrim?
@He Who Abides, I think Mulgarath is parodying the 1st season of I Dream of Jeannie’s opening scene.
That’s a fancy bottle. 🙂
Great artwork
“I wish these things would grow”
Interesting where the position of her hands are when she says that. Do I see some much larger cups in the near future 🙂
If you compare Panel 1 in the top strip with Panel 1 on the bottom, I think you’re correct.
What’s more, the part about “getting them loose” seems to have been accomplished, as well. I believe they’re pretty much free-range, at this point.
Well, so much for the “G” rating.
More of a G-string rating. (Dodges various thrown objects.)
@Tom Sewell – He Who Abides wishes he had more hands, so he could give that pun four thumbs down.
@Tom:
Don’t listen to him, Tom. I thought the pun was wonderful!
I mean, just panel 4 at the top you can already tell the difference, plus, the cuffs may be glowing, but those magic effect are gathering in another place!
HOW COULD YOU LEAVE OUT PAGE 3A ;_;….????
It was there in the cloud drive along with the others!
Hey, blame OneDrive! It’s hard to tell what the heck is in a folder when it displays only thumbnails and puts them out of order by default. >_<
We may have to send Robert Back to Africa. He was doing better keeping things in order on a Window 95 machine.
Given that there was time-travel involved, maybe it was a Windows 2095 machine.
o_0
So canonically/chronologically (getting here late), the latest event is her naked with that blue gem, right?
Yeah, if you got here late, you didn’t see that I’d failed to include the top 4 panels in the original post. The page that’s visible now is the fully correct page for this week.
Wait a minute, exactly who is saying “granted” in panel four? Did Desiree from Danny Phantom sneak into this filler? Or Hachimitsu’s compadre flintofmother3’s Rayah?
I’m guessing that the magic is still pretty wild and loose as her transformation is beginning, so the bottle itself granted Anne’s wish. Though you’d have to ask Hachimitsu for the official explanation.
This is an excellent series. While I understand it’s a filler, please continue it. It’s wonderful. Top notch art and story.
Oh don’t worry, there’s plenty more to come. 🙂
Awesome art and cool start to a new Jeanie.
FYI Robert…don’t know if this happens to everyone, but the back button take you to the previous comic but then you cannot access the current comic again. It gives no option to move forward in the comics. Not sure if you can fix or if its happening to just me.
Yeah, that’s a known issue with the comics software that runs this site. It caches pages so that the server doesn’t have to work quite so hard to display them. But that means it sortof “freezes” each comic page in the format it had when it was the front page of the site, at which point there was no “Next” page. I can fix it by going in and saving a small update to the page, though, so I’ll go do that.
It’s a feature install on the website to Cache the pages. This way, the pages are ‘loaded’ instead of rebuilt every-time someone views it. This cuts down on the CPU usage, which makes my service provider slightly happier (and cheaper to use). The Pages are RE-built after a day +/- a couple hours. So when you see the current page, the previous page still think’s it’s the main page with no next comic.
To access the current comic when this happens, just click on Home. In the menu bar.
it’s a known issue, but correcting it, kills the purpose of the caching.
Is this strip canon?
Nope.
Actually, everything that you see for the next six month to maybe a year on this site will not be cannon. CD Rudd on vacation and instead of leaving this site dormant for a year, some of the other people that like to read Jeanie Bottle have decided to do off canon stuff while CD Rudd away.
That way it keep the site active.
It should only be about 5 more months, actually.
A Year Vacation… I wish…
Nope, I’m just working in a place far away, where the internet connection is crap.
Reminds me of what the other other genie once said—phenomenal cosmic power, itty-bitty living space.
Isn’t it way past time for Belle to pick up a genie bottle, inside or outside canon? Especially considering that, as Kattgirl reminded us, that the whole reason all the madness began was because Jean wanted to get a gift for Belle?
Think about all the interesting things Anne and Belle could share, including a mutual suspicion of a certain brunette…
And, for the guys, and maybe some of the gals, an excuse for Hachimitsu to do up Belle the way
Or Red getting turned into a genie. That would be awesome!
Wow… This is amazing!
I heard Hachi does commissions as well. Really want to get something from them now.
On page 399 a thief stole the bottle but how did Nate and Jean wind up with bottle exactly cause it makes no sense how Jean became a genie?
Actually, the thief was there so the plot make sense, Jean was moving to Andy’s old appartament, where the bottle was safe previously, but Jean found the bottle in an antique store. So, the lógic is that the thief stole the bottle, and sell it to the same store where Jean found it.
The bottle wasn’t in Andy’s old apartment, it was in Rouyah’s. Remember, even though she couldn’t use her bottle any more, Kazom gave Rouyah her bottle when he took her away.
The thief is still the bottle from Rouyah apartment or {Barbra Eden} as Tom Sewell is saying. The thief get in while Jean moving in to his apartment right next door to Andy old apartment and Jean new apartment. The thief hocks the bottle at either a pawn shop or some antic shop. A few weeks to a month or so later, Jean is looking for a gilt for Belle with Neil in tow to the shop where Jean finds the bottle and is then Geniefied and becomes Jeanie. Some people have already linked to where the thief steals the bottle and if you want to see the Jean turn into Jeanie, go to the first three or four installment of this series to see that.
The bottle wasn’t in Andy’s old apartment, it was in Rouyah’s. Remember, even though she couldn’t use her bottle any more, Kazom gave Rouyah her bottle when he took her away.
Okay, who else wants to see strips 3a &3b without sppech bubbles. Heck, you could do it for next week’s strip so there won’t be an ’empty’ week.
The genie curse affecting Robert? I’d like to see that for a filler. :B the genie of comic editing/posting.
Considering my character’s unexpected lack of gender-bending over on SailorSun.org, I do wonder about that…
On witch page said Jean buying the lamp at the antiques store?
None, we saw some flashbacks of Jean at the store getting the bottle while teling her story to Kazom, but the details are in the cast page.
I am happy this is not Cannon. Because i hope someday Agent Anderson can get back to his family. Jeanie really was cruel with her punishment of him.
I have to say this is a very sexy filler comic though.
I must say, I agree than as fun as it may be, Jeanie did wrong to anne in the end.
With that said, I am not a fan of Anderson wife at the moment, I get that she can’t look at her as her husband. But leaving Anderson out of the live of their son like this was not the answer.
Of course, another way to fix things would be to simply make Agent Anderson’s wife male…
So she can Grant her own wishes?
I think that with Jeanie, we already learn it doesn’t work like that.
My theory here is that the magic of her transformation sort of has a mind of its own, and a sense of humor. lol
Kazom did say that a human who was changed into a Genie would have a form based on his/her expectations, so a bit of customization of the form could be possible if the new-genie asks for it before the transformation is complete . . .
@ijuinkun That makes me wish that Anderson could have look different from Jean.
If you look at what Kazom has said or told Jeanie after she became a Genie and Jeanie asked these question, then it can be answered in three parts.
1. Mortals can be changed at will, from either male to female or female to male. You can jack with there motion, but, you can’t make them fall in love with other people against there will.
2. Somebody becoming a Genie will become the Genie they think that bottle, lamp should have. That why Jean became Jeanie of the bottle. Once you become that new Genie, that becomes you new core or who you are.
3. Once the new Core of who you are as Genie is set, it is almost set in stone and can’t be changed. But, according to Kazom it can be done, but, it will take 100 to 200 years to do it, because they have to become an accomplished Genie to do that and you have expend a lot of energy for a long period of time do that. In other word, it can be done, but, it virtually impossible to do it. You are basically fighting an uphill battle for 100 years or more to make it happen. We don’t have to worry about Jeanie turning back into a guy any time soon.
I really want to know what is actually happening here, it looks like Anderson is turning into a cosmic entity here.
Well, come back in a few days to read the next page, and you’ll learn some more! 🙂
