Effectively yes, but I don’t think she will word it that way. Or her wish causes Neil to regress to her age. Anyway, I see a lot of jealousy between Jean and Caley comming.
No she’s going to wish for Macaroni and Cheese not to be dinner.
I’m also picturing Guano’s reaction if she chooses to remain after granting 3 wishes (and finds out her new Mistress knows the guy she has a crush on).
* Obviously Araceli will discover Caley is a girl.
* Unless Rodge sees the transformation, Rodge won’t recognize Caley as Caley–and he’ll probably hit on her. If Caley doesn’t want to spill the beans, she might go along with it for awhile…
* Or maybe the adult Caley will look just like her mother, and we can have fun with Rodge and Neil dealing with two different people, one of which will be Caley’s real mother who will be looking for Caley. Say, nothing has been said about whether or not Caley’s mother is (still) married or not…
For all we know there might be (fairly odd parents anyone?)
I rather like the fact the bottled as big as Caley and our bubbly genies joy over being free (again when she was probably curled up miserably expecting another couple of decades in her bottle) melting into confusion as she saw her mistress.
“Sir Lancelot: Oh, fair one, behold, I am you humble servant Sir Launcelot. I have come to take…Oh, I’m terribly sorry!” —from “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.”
So dinner is macaroni sin caso, the cheese packet being laid aside and Rog digging madly for that old jar of marinara he left in a cupboard somewhere. And Aceli is going to be asked to make a spread of fish sticks and French fries with chocolate pie ala mode.
I know that CD’s not on vacation, but I hope that he’s not worked too hard or shipped off to the Ukraine anytime soon. Good luck with this assignment.
I think Araceli will assume that Caley is a boy for quite awhile, at least until she sees Neil again, an opportunity for further misunderstanding and to get Neil into even more trouble.
I’m also wondering whether C.J. is taking some inspiration from an IDOJ episode where Major Nelson has to cope with a very spoiled, obnoxious little boy and a painfully shy little girl. Perhaps Caley will have some of both of these qualities, cynical tomboy exterior hiding a shy, self-deprecating little girl inside?
Yeah, she’s also got heels on. She appears to have updated her look a bit. considering how much Jeanie likes to model different outfits, I don’t see why Araceli wouldn’t like to try different things once in a while, too.
No offense but I have to admit my first thought was that you’d finally got the red light working as Jeanie has also lost her greenish tinge that kept coming up (a lot of monitors at work currently have lost their red light).
You will. I’m just out of town for work and have limited packing space. So I can’t bring my comic making laptop and Wacom. As soon as I get back I’ll be making more comics.
Hmm, I remeber the Genie manual Neil was reading said something about bottle Genies being nurturing. Araceli may want to “mother” Caley. Not sure what form that may take, but could get interesting . . .
I wonder what Caley’s real mother would think if she found out a genie was taking over the mothering chores? You know, if Araceli winds up actually getting Neil, Araceli would be placed to become a sort of Auntie to go with “Uncle” Neil…
Or what if Caley’s mom is single? What if SHE decides she’d like to hook up with Neil?
Thanks for bringing back Araceli.During her short time serving Neil she became quite attached to him I actually compared this to Stockholm syndrome and Lima syndrome in which captors and captives connect with each other.
Kinda distressing when these online comics end, even when there’s warning. The Dreamland Chronicles is on hold (working on an animated non-strip film), Goblins apparently died (difficult to tell why from the posted rant, actually), and Groovy Kinda came to an end (apparently) without my noticing it was ending. Lotsa ones I liked over the years have stopped without warning—often the most distressing kind of stopping, right in the middle of something.
Personally, I think it best to bring at least the current storyline of anything to a conclusion. Readers might be disappointed, but at least they’re not left in the lurch.
Uh oh!
She’s going to wish to be an adult ain’t she?
Effectively yes, but I don’t think she will word it that way. Or her wish causes Neil to regress to her age. Anyway, I see a lot of jealousy between Jean and Caley comming.
No she’s going to wish for Macaroni and Cheese not to be dinner.
I’m also picturing Guano’s reaction if she chooses to remain after granting 3 wishes (and finds out her new Mistress knows the guy she has a crush on).
I’m also still hoping for Rodg to spend some time on the other side of the gender divide but that’s more Jeanie schtick.
If Araceli changes Caley into an adult:
* Obviously Araceli will discover Caley is a girl.
* Unless Rodge sees the transformation, Rodge won’t recognize Caley as Caley–and he’ll probably hit on her. If Caley doesn’t want to spill the beans, she might go along with it for awhile…

*Bam-bum-bum-bum-BAM* (Imagine a trumpet.)
Oh, my.
Fasten seat belts, folks …
Grrr. My Gravatar runned away.
There should be rules for minors having a genie.
For all we know there might be (fairly odd parents anyone?)
I rather like the fact the bottled as big as Caley and our bubbly genies joy over being free (again when she was probably curled up miserably expecting another couple of decades in her bottle) melting into confusion as she saw her mistress.
Why? Jean was sent to a high school boy for her apprenticeship. There’s probably no laws forbidding minor masters.
Yep but she was also meant to be under the permanent instruction of an old experienced genie while there.
Also sadly it seems modern education has failed Rodgs niece I nean really what did she thibk would happen when opening a strange bottle.
On the other hand at least she’s not expecting wishmaster.
Expecting someone else, huh?
“Sir Lancelot: Oh, fair one, behold, I am you humble servant Sir Launcelot. I have come to take…Oh, I’m terribly sorry!” —from “Monty Python and the Holy Grail.”
Expecting someone taller.
So dinner is macaroni sin caso, the cheese packet being laid aside and Rog digging madly for that old jar of marinara he left in a cupboard somewhere. And Aceli is going to be asked to make a spread of fish sticks and French fries with chocolate pie ala mode.

Yay! Araceli’s back~
Only in the last panel
I see what you did there…
I think Araceli will assume that Caley is a boy for quite awhile, at least until she sees Neil again, an opportunity for further misunderstanding and to get Neil into even more trouble.

Anyone notice Araceli is now wearing high heels. 😉
Yes. Practicing for Neil?
She saw it on TV and wants to blend in.
“How did you do this”
“You wish to know how I did this?”
Is it just me or did Araceli swith from blue to a more purple-ish tone in the coloscheme?
Yeah, she’s also got heels on. She appears to have updated her look a bit. considering how much Jeanie likes to model different outfits, I don’t see why Araceli wouldn’t like to try different things once in a while, too.

I think Caley will wish for Neil to be there. When he disappears Jean will blame it on Sam and poor Derrick will win a trip to the Hiram Club. 🙂
Ohhh, that’d be fun! I’m definitely looking forward to seeing Derrick get TG’d. I hope it happens.
I’m hoping for Rog we need another redhead.
Sexy Araceli is back!!! But no adult male master to lavish her love on 🙁 🙁 🙁
It seems Caley may end up bonding with Araceli. I can only speculate on how this may turn out, but Rodgers life just became more complicated.
I love the way she’s standing outside of the panel!
Scott McCloud calls it “breaking the fourth wall.” Some manga artists like Ken Akamatsu use it a lot.
Sorry to hear of your hiatus. I *really* hope to see you again in early / mid June.
You will. I’m just out of town for work and have limited packing space. So I can’t bring my comic making laptop and Wacom. As soon as I get back I’ll be making more comics.
Let the havoc begin! A child with a genie at their command! Let it begin! LET IT BEGIN! Zap and TF everything that moves!
Wow. Last panel. Very appealing.
As for the story… ‘dis gon be gud’.
Wait… Who exactly was Caley?
Red haired guy’s niece.
But it’s her first appearance or she already had an storyline that I missed?
This storyline is her first appearance, though she’s been mentioned by Neil in the past.
Caley is a girl; she’s Rodge’s niece, and she’d rather spend time with Neil than with Uncle Rodge. She’s been on the CAST page for a long time.
SHE’S BACK! Yay!
Hmm, I remeber the Genie manual Neil was reading said something about bottle Genies being nurturing. Araceli may want to “mother” Caley. Not sure what form that may take, but could get interesting . . .

Lots of potential material here…
Thanks for bringing back Araceli.During her short time serving Neil she became quite attached to him I actually compared this to Stockholm syndrome and Lima syndrome in which captors and captives connect with each other.
You know I know your not updating in May and yet I keep coming back here to see if there’s been an update, I think I”m addicted.
At least we were warned. There hasn’t been a new strip at The Wotch since March 3rd and nobody said anything about a hiatus.
