Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
“Uh, well, she’s a ton of trouble, selfish, inconsiderate, disobedient–you’ve seen, right? I don’t need anymore crap falling on my head. I still have bruises from that file cabinet…Look, I guess she can stay, but she needs to behave like a proper genie.”
Yes, yes it would. Please don’t take any of my comments as wishing for any such thing.
What I’m advocating is for Neil to start acting like a proper Master, and no, I don’t mean like with dog collars and ball gags.
I think Neil and Jeanie can make a great pair, who can accomplish much — but alone, Jeanie will fritter her powers on nothing, while Neil will be a total nebbish.
I don’t foresee much more trouble after saying that; the rules did specifically state “A genie can choose to stay with their current master after the last wish has been used, with limited magical powers”
The trouble, Galdon, is that word “master”. Jeanie really, really doesn’t like the implications of that word.
Neil, being a nice guy, will accept the title of “master” in order to keep Jeanie from being taken away to a life of real, albeit powerful, slavery — and Jeanie will act out her resentment at having a master against him, even if he does nothing to earn it.
And, of course, there’s the problem that Jeanie really is Jean. That hasn’t really played out yet.
I’m wondering, though, if Guano isn’t ever so slightly suspicious that Jeanie may not be quite as enthusiastic about her Master as her arm clutching seems to suggest….
Yeah, Neil does kinda have that “deer caught in the headlights” look. It appears that he, too, was taken by surprise by Jean apparent display of affection! 🙂
How much did neil get to read of the genie manual? because his expression (and to a lesser degree load guanos) might indicate that she just committed into something (her words can be interpreted as “I don’t want a new master, I want neil to remain my master” where she obviously MEANT “I don’t want a new master, I want to be free and stay in my house and live like a human with magic powers”).
Gene might not know what she just committed herself to but it is possible Neal does, having read the manual, and that is why he is so shocked. The thought gong through his mind might be, “Gene, have you any idea what you just committed us to?” One possibility might mean that this commandment is a form of marriage it the Jinn world and the Genie world expects results, like offspring
Oh, dear….
Well, technically Neil didn’t wish for a sandwich, he just wanted one, and LSH can’t really punish Jeanie if Neil doesn’t make a wish. (Hopefully.)

Yeah, right. Like Neil would ever be that assertive.
>hangs head, stubs toeperks up<
But a boy can dream, can't he?
I know better, though.
Instead, he's going to go along with Jeanie because he's such a total Nice Guy, and then Jeanie's going to continue to take him for granted. Gah.
I hope for Neil's sake that LSH gives him some kind of control over her. Otherwise, his life will be miserable.
If Gene started acting like a proper bottle genie would not the strip become borring very quickly?

Well… this is it.
Neil OFFICIALLY becomes Jeanie’s master.
Will he get a receipt? A license? Another copy of the manual?
(Whoo – Hoo! It’s on an iPad!!!)
LOL OUCH! looks like Gene’s old GF was right. I hope they’ll be very happy! But the wish for a sandwitch -pls!
Anyway I’ve really enjoyd the story!
I knew this was coming, just knew it! What will Neil do now?

Oh, I meant trouble from Guano, not that everything would be peachy from then on between Neil and Jean.
Ah, should have figured.
I’m wondering, though, if Guano isn’t ever so slightly suspicious that Jeanie may not be quite as enthusiastic about her Master as her arm clutching seems to suggest….
If Neil has any balls at all, he will put his hand on Jeanie’s bu…hip, pull her in close, and say, “The lady stays with me.”
Guano would understand that.
No chance, of course. Not only is Neil sorta lacking in the stones department, but he thinks the person hanging off his arm is Jean.
Yeah, Neil does kinda have that “deer caught in the headlights” look. It appears that he, too, was taken by surprise by Jean apparent display of affection! 🙂
Neil need only quote the ‘Genies for Dummies’ guide
that said bottle genies may stay with their master
after the 3rd wish.
He may be a jerk, but Guano goes by the book.
in the i dream of Jeanie rules there are unlimited wishes

whoops, I am a dummy, seems that IS the case and he DID read that far, as evidenced by what jayessell said just two posts before me.

“Marriage”
I am kvelling over this idea: hugging the warm, glowing ball of happiness in my tummy.
Bhahahahaha, I can see where this is going XD
Brilliant
