Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
“A wish that cannot possibly backfire”. There is no such thing even when the grantor tries to give the spirit of the wish. There are always unforeseen circumstances that will sneak up and bite you.
Uh oh, he wrote his wish out. If his wording is precise enough, it will be difficult if not impossible for Jeannie to twist it for her own gain. Still, I wonder what sort of plan the girls are gonna hatch.
Given the context of the previous strip, and the Duke Boys currently being Duke Girls, I would bet that their plan involves either getting Boss Hogg “Distracted By The Sexy”, or else appealing to his vanity and greed somehow.
I’d go with the confusion gambit. Jean makes herself look like Daisy and Daisy look like her. They get BH to make wishes he didn’t plan on in front of “Daisy” while the ones he wants to come true don’t because he’s making them in front of “Jean.”
Will they try the Chinese fortune cookie trick where Hogg reads a slip of paper or give him a super hot meal to get him to wish he had some cold water to drink.
Raw sugar would work as well. It works for me and I learnt about it in a book series about two genie siblings. “The Children of the Lamp”, I think it was called. It was where someone was eating a super-spicy dish meant for genies.
There’s an episode of The X Files (original) where Mulder tries to wish for world peace.
He gets it. It’s a world with no people except for himself.
He tries to write it out but soon it becomes obvious that it’s impossible.
(It should be on Netflix, so no need for me to spoilerize the end of the episode.)
Gee, I wonder if Jeanie is masquerading as Daisy Duke when she giving Boss Hogg dinner? It would be something that Boss Hogg would now be thinking about and might surprise him.
The “wish that can’t possibly fail” could be the same wish that the Greek captain made: becoming his dutiful wife so he could have more wishes for as long as he lived. Besides the prospect that genie could turn Boss Hogg into Miss Piggy, that probably won’t happen if Mr. Rudd wants to remain true to the spirit of the source. Boss Hogg had a wife in the series and I don’t think he ever even tried to fool around with another woman. I’m trusting secondary sources; I’m not a Dukes fan and I don’t remember watching any episode all the way through. Even if I had been, I was literally out to sea for most of its original run.
“Cannot possibly backfire.” Hmm…

You have to know how to word your wishes.

Water wouldn’t help in that scenario. You would want to use milk, or dairy products.

Rubbing salt on the affected area helps, too.
Well, if it can’t possibly backfire, it can’t involve the General Lee…
FYI February 8, 1985 last episode of The Dukes of Hazzard aired.

Season 7 Episode 21

Can hardly wait to see this one play out.
I think you’re gonna like it. Everyone’s guesses about their plan so far have been quite interesting. I wonder if any of them are right?
If Jeanie was Daisy, then Daisy would be wearing the white hat. :d
Except that the top of her head is conveniently covered by a speech balloon. So we wouldn’t actually know, as yet…
And CD has a past history of using speech balloons to cover up critical items. (See #345)
OK who here writes for the Tv show supernatural? in a 20 script section they mentioned genies, Barbara Eden, and Daisy Duke
Careful, talk like that and we might have to make an example out of you.
Is he going to read his wish or hand it to Jeanie?
(Did he check his spelling?)
