Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
Talk about tempting fate. Without Jeanie there, I predict it will take less than 5 minutes for Belle to realize that isn’t Jean (or possibly she already has, but didn’t want to call him on it with Jeanie there).
Neil better man up it go time and Bell is ready to make up for some lost time.
On a side note something tells me Jean-ie is getting a time out in her bottle and a double of her is going to be running around. ( i watched a lot of IDOJ as a kid)
Nothing about Jeanie can be, by any typical definition, normal. When she finally accepts that she is fully and for the duration a magical girl and not a derpy guy maybe then some semblance of normalcy can be hammered together.
We see Jean’s bottle in the final panel–but what about Araceli’s? Where’s Caley?
Araceli knows how to find Neil’s apartment, after all. But does she know that the guy Caley is interested in is the same guy Araceli wants to marry? Her smirk says to me that she doesn’t, yet.
But I do agree that the smirk probably has much to do with how much trouble Araceli knows Jean is in with Uncle Batpoop.
I’m thinking maybe Araceli has arranged with Uncle Guano to replace Jean as Neil’s genie, maybe trading up to the nice bottle Araceli admired so much earlier and which is sitting next to her on that couch. If they swap bottles, I guess they might swap masters too, meaning Jean becomes responsible to (and for) Caley.
Maybe this situation has even more potential for Jean to screw up. If Jean meets Caley in her “Kendra” form, Jean may think that Kendra is just what Jean said she needed to get for Neil in the previous episode: A girlfriend of his own. Longer term, it has potential for Jean to actually act responsibly when she discovers “Kendra” is really a little kid.
That look Belle is giving Neil-J in panel 3 . . . If a red head is giving you that look, hang on to your hat . . . That’s all I’m saying.
As for Jeanie v. Araceli, well we’ll see. Jeanie is getting used to her powers and is pretty quick thinking when challenged, just not very forward thinking. But, I don’t think Araceli is any master strategist either.
Jean seems to have a *lot* of raw power, but she’s not into doing anything nerdy like studying. Araceli has been genie all her life–and she’s Guano’s niece. Don’t bet on Jean getting out of this one easily.
Unfortunately, I have no reason to believe that Natalie will be making an appearance in this storyline. But thanks for pointing me to that pic. I had somehow managed to have never seen it before.
Araceli has been on her way to Cocoa Beach for a long time. My guess is her bottle was supposed to be delivered to Neil, but that Uncle Guano didn’t really know modern mailing addresses (BTW, the package appears with a *red* poof, which is Guano’s nimbus, not Araceli’s blue one.)
That smirk could be from Araceli knowing that she has talked Uncle Guano into making her into a permanent replacement for Jean. Of course, Araceli needs to have satisfied Kendra first, but maybe she already has…
…I’m left wondering whether Jean would want Neil to have sex with her or not…
I’m not sure Jean has thought that far ahead, considering her line on the last panel of the previous comic.
LOL

Or think Jean has become a nicer person from his time in the middle east.
The last panel reminds me of the original IdoJ TV series. Jeanie comes out of her bottle and her evil sister is already waiting for her smirking.
I wouldn’t be at all surprised is that was intentional. CD Rudd loves calling back to the classic series.
Which raises the question just what is Araceli doing there and how is she going to take finding out what Jeanie’s got Neil doing?
Neil better man up it go time and Bell is ready to make up for some lost time.

But what about Agent Anderson?
By normal, if you mean crazy and unpredictable, then yes.
Nothing about Jeanie can be, by any typical definition, normal. When she finally accepts that she is fully and for the duration a magical girl and not a derpy guy maybe then some semblance of normalcy can be hammered together.
And now I recall Lord Guano’s visit to Araceli. I wonder if this will end up the same way for Jeanie as it did for Araceli?

Welcome to the new normal. }:)

Well, at least Jean isn’t up against Rayah–yet!

What’s with the pink floating globs in the first two panels? It’s like leftover Jean-Poof residue, or is that supposed to be reflections in the glass?
Definitely *poof* residue. 😉 Jeanie disappeared when no one was looking.
Going through Deviant Art again, I think I found another reason for the title of this arc: Guess who (might) have green eyes!

Why is Araceli there? Doesn’t she already have a new master to serve? One who she is clearly having fun with.
