In I Dream of Jeannie tv show, the major and Jeannie get married towards the end of the show. Maybe CD has some plans for that as well? After all, they are already best friends. They say the best relationships start with friendships. 😉
I hate that trope. I hope the story does not go in that direction.

I cannot support this unless Neil finds his balls and asserts his dominance over Jeanie as her master. If he stays the limp…fish that he is, she will turn him into a slave. Yes, I’ve said this before. Can’t be said enough: Jeanie cannot be allowed to be the dom.

There is no hate. I was replying to 50srefugee’s comment with the observation that Jeanie’s traditional solution to any male who is annoying her is to “update” them either temporarily or in some cases permanently

It’s an amusing reversal of the usual tropes to have Jean annoyed at Neil for NOT being pervy enough with Jean’s girlfriend.
Yeah, that’s the kind of advice that could come back and bite her/him in the @$$.
How about Jeannie teaches Neil a bit how to treat Belle? Both might finally get together that way.
So Jean would still do that if he had just finished an international journey?

So, as I thought it might be. Jeanie wants Neil-J to act like she would have if she was still himself. Eventually, that *has* to backfire one way or another, but it will be fun to watch . . . 😉
Presuming there isn’t an interruption (Homeland Security guy/gal? Araceli? Lord Guano? Caley? The stoner dudes from the Post Office (asking Jean how he became a she–in front of Belle, of course?), the way this seems to be going is that Jean is narrowly focused on goal (as usual) which is to get Belle to believe Neil is Jean. Of course, this won’t work forever, but at the end Belle might just wind up falling for Jean–a nicer, much more responsible guy if not as much fun as her surfer boy/magazine writer.
And at that point, Jean could realize that:
(1) She’s falling for Neil, but…
(2) She’s still in love with Belle.
Neil will have to get still more fiancees to measure up to Ranma or Tenchi, but with four potentials, engineer-boy sounds well on his way…
Hah, love the Ranma and Tenchi reference. At first I thought “Why’s he talking about finances all of a sudden??”
In reference to Tenchi Muyo, I used to run a fan club on Yahoo! called “No Need For Monogamy.”
I like the fiancee reference too. Now all we need is, that Aracelli turns Caley twenty-somthing years old, so she can seriously compete with Jeannie, Belle and Aracelli.
As not only I have speculated, it looks very much like Araceli has already done that. “Kendra” has exactly the same color hair as Caley–and I believe no other character in the series has hair that color.
This page made me laugh out loud. When I read why Jean was angry I lost it. One of the funniest comics I’ve read anywhere in months.

That she acted more like the tv jeanie from the show.
I don’t know if that would mess with jeans free will but as a jeanie he/she is bound by the wishes of her master.
Araceli is the one who acts most like Jeannie in the original IDOJ.
The way this seems to be going now is that Belle will want some “alone time” with “Jean.” Given that Neil didn’t seem to respond to Araceli giving him a lap dance (!), Neil will probably confess when things heat up.
UNLESS…
Could it be that Neil has had a thing for Belle all along?
Neil is one of those nice guys that girls respect, & many feel “sisterly” towards. Jean was one of those doofuses who give the rest of us a bad reputation, yet still end up with all of the hot chicks.
Go figure.
Jeanie is just that shallow. She deserves to be severed from her girlfriend if that’s all that’s on her mind.
