A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
It be great if this was more like the movie sexual chemistry . If you haven’t seen that movie it’s pretty great in a bad way. Lab guy turns into girl and has sex with his coworker . To see what it’s like to have sex as a girl. Just saying if I got turned into a girl I’d have some fun.
Hmmm, an interesting question. I would personally guess that her clothes are non-magical, because of that sexy green dress she wore in Vegas. That dress was almost certainly created by Jeanie (to embarrass Neil), so I don’t see why other clothes she creates would be stuck to their wearer.
The stupid part was Natalie’s statement that Jean expects her and Rodge to sleep together. He may not have been thinking of that, but you can be sure that he will be now. AND he’ll take anything that vaguely hints at it as Natalie’s willingness to do so.
You are right about about Neil’s poor tactics here–but that doesn’t detract from Jeanie’s, not in the slightest. She’s done the exact thing that Araceli and Guano want to bottle her permanently for.
My guess is since he possibly went all the way with Belle, she is getting back at him by trying to make him sleep with rodge as natalie so he understands how she feels. At least thats my opinion.
I don’t think Jeanie was thinking particularly clearly when she did this. Her thought process probably went “OMG I’M SO MAD AT NEIL! HE SLEPT WITH MY GIRLFRIEND! LET’S SEE HOW HE LIKES GETTING BONED BY “HER” BOYFRIEND!!!”
I think Jean did this to punish and humiliate him because she was jealous and felt betrayed. Sex was not part of it.
3 way affairs never work someone always gets hurt. It’s a 3 way even if Neil is filling in for jean.
I’m inclined to agree with that especially since she poofed Nat into the lobby not Roge’s bedroom. She know’s Rodge is both aware that Natalie is Neil and likes her so he’s just an unconcious target as he’ll make Natallie feel uncomfortable when she shows up at his door dressed like that.
Also I don’t know if I’ve said this before but I love that fox pic you use as an avatar.
Jeanie never thinks things through or considers what the consequences will be with anything she does. She is completely irrational and is totally self absorbed into herself and thinks the world revolves around her and what she thinks. Case in point, the current situation was created by Jeanie, because she is this way and her solution is to do more of the same by transforming Neil into Natalie. This whole comic is based on one Ditzy Blond Girl moment of how she deal with something after another Ditzy Blond Girl moment. She just a Ditzy Blond Girl that has Genie powers, that all.
Jean is still “Jean” to Neil. They seem to have known each other for a long time.
Rodge is the one to worry about. I’m wondering how Caley’s parents can leave their child in the care of such an irresponsible doofus– even Jean seems to have his/her act more together than Rodge.
Given recent events (his admiring her exercising) I’d say probably a perspective shift to viewing her as Jeanie. Some families use relatives to babysit because dufus or not their considered safer, also he is an engineer for a major company so they may not realise what he’s really like.
Jean’s gone. The genie doesn’t look anything like Jean. To Neil’s perception, he’s dealing with an utterly different person, except for the sociopathy.
Cali liked to visit Neil place when she use to stay at Roger place. That was one reason that she like to visit Roger, was because she kind of had the hots for Neil. They probably knew each other about two years or so, because of there job, but, it does seam to be fairly casual at best.
Hmmm… One possibility if neither Caley nor Araceli picks up that Natalie is really Neil is this: Caley might ask Araceli to get them together, because:
1) Caley would like to see Uncle Rodge settle down and stop chasing bimbos.
2) With Rodge occupied with Natalie, Caley should be able to escape Rodge’s supervision to pursue Neil even more.
Wow. SO Araceli is simultaneously chasing Neil while at the same time, she is trying to set him up in Natalie form with Roger. That has a lot of comedy potential.
I know that blouses button oppositely to shirts, but I have not heard that robes are constructed to open on one side or the other. I can’t even figure out how that would work. A robe is a robe.
Interesting observation anyway, although I think it says more about Natalie (or, of course, the artist) than the robe.
The reason I brought it up was that when a woman wears a man’s robe, sometimes she can leave a bit of her scent behind (perfume, etc.). She certainly makes it look different than when he wears it and I think he would notice that. Having something that personal touching her skin and having her skin touching something fairly personal of his. I think it’s a bit of an unplanned turn on for both parties. I am not sure if Rodge is sensitive enough to anything that subtle or not. I am curious how he takes Natalie through this too if it is an issue. Then again, it may not be thought of by either one of them lol. I love the surprises of this story.
Something about Nat’s expression in the final panel–I just realized she looks like she’s warning Rog against something she assumes he won’t like anymore than she will. She is completely oblivious to the fact that he’s prepared to bang her standing up against the wall.
For a smart engineer, Neil, you sure are clueless.
Here is an interesting scenario; Natalie says too Rodge “I sure wish this would stop”(referring to being transformed all the time) and back at home Jeanie snaps her fingers and says done and then realizes she has no idea what wish she just granted. After a really good visit with Rodge and her niece, Natalie returns home and then to his horror Jean is unable to return him back. and she becomes Natalie permanently for a little while.
Interesting scenario, but I don’t think it fits either the IDOJ or the IDOAJB tropes. Neither has the genie reading the master’s mind.
Of course, having Jeanie trapped in her bottle does fit, and Jean has just given a really excellent justification for that if Araceli or Guano caught her being mean to her master. So there’s still an excellent chance Neil will be Natalie for quite some time. Which means there will be time for Agent Anderson to find Natalie–which give Rodge an opportunity to get picked up as well for associating with Natalie the spy.
There is one hole in that plot, Tom. You have have Araceli justifying locking up Jean with the fact that Jeannie natified Neil. If she knows about it, she can change him back. If she doesn’t know about it, she has no reason to lock Jeannie up.
Of course, never put it past Jeannie to give Araceli another reason to seal her up…
One Genie can’t undo another Genie magic except for going to bat poop or Guano in to change Natalie back into Neil. Neither Araceli or Jeanie can undo each other magic.
Genie hasn’t actually said what she did to Neil yet. She could get bottled up before she even has a chance to explain. Yes, that would be pretty stupid, but Araceli and Guano are genies, not geniuses, and they’ve both shown tendencies to act before they get the whole picture.
As has been mentioned in a couple of discussion threads here, Guano and Araceli don’t seem to think things through, they just react without getting all the information. We know that Jean was kind of impulsive before being transformed, and still is, so did that impulsiveness draw the bottle to him or him to the bottle because it is a part of the nature of genies to be impulsive? The bottle needed a new genie but the personality has to fit? Just something I’ve been contemplating.
You seam like a new poster here. But, if you go to the first one through four of this comic, you will find out that Jean became a Genie, because he was messing with the bottle say how much that he would like to do Barbra Eden. Since the bottle needed a new Genie, Jean got the honors of becoming the new Genie in the likeness of Barbra Eden.
I’ve been here from the beginning almost, came in 3 or 4 strips in but went back and read the first few and all of them since. I just don’t comment too often. My point is, Jean picked up the bottle, not Neil or someone else.
Just a little idle speculation on the nature of destiny after noticing a similar characteristic amongst 3 of 4 genies that we have seen so far. Was there a bit of magical nudging to get the bottle together with Jean because he fits the type? Who knows?
The flaw in this theory is that Jean is a terrible genie in almost every way. Guano is indeed a jerk, but he basically just wants Jeannie to follow the rules. Araceli is conniving when it comes to dealing with Jean, but she seems to mostly be interested in doing her job as a genie.
Very good points about Guano and ‘Celi, but that does not address why Jean got the bottle. I like the idea that hundreds of people have seen it, even handled it, but passed it over because it wasn’t meant for them. Then Jean picked it up, and Poof! New genie.
Theres also the fact Araceli and Guano are a lot older genies and that will affect their personality somewhat. Plus of course we still don’t know what Araceli to wind up under the sea. There’s some degree of support in the only other two genies we know are Kazom being very old and just wanting to sleep and Eva Braun who helped trigger WWII.
Yes! Do it Natalie! Go all the way! I really can’t wait to see what happens in the next comic…..
Some how i think Neil being a strait guy probably doesn’t want to have sex with his coworker/friend.
more shenanigans from trying to force free will
It be great if this was more like the movie sexual chemistry . If you haven’t seen that movie it’s pretty great in a bad way. Lab guy turns into girl and has sex with his coworker . To see what it’s like to have sex as a girl. Just saying if I got turned into a girl I’d have some fun.
I wonder if Natalie can even take that lingerie off or if she has to were it until Jeanie poofs her back into Neil.
Hmmm, an interesting question. I would personally guess that her clothes are non-magical, because of that sexy green dress she wore in Vegas. That dress was almost certainly created by Jeanie (to embarrass Neil), so I don’t see why other clothes she creates would be stuck to their wearer.
Either way she looks adorable in that robe
Rodge looks way too happy. Then again, can you really blame him?
No, no I can’t
Even for Jeannie, this is just plain stupid.
The stupid part was Natalie’s statement that Jean expects her and Rodge to sleep together. He may not have been thinking of that, but you can be sure that he will be now. AND he’ll take anything that vaguely hints at it as Natalie’s willingness to do so.

“Nati-fies me” hahaha
I’m trying to figure out, though, why Neil thinks Jeanie wants Roge and Natalie to sleep together.
For Natalie to have to put up with Roge’s leering, sure. But actually have sex with him? Why? What does that get Jeanie?
So why does Neil think that’s the goal here?
My guess is since he possibly went all the way with Belle, she is getting back at him by trying to make him sleep with rodge as natalie so he understands how she feels. At least thats my opinion.
Oh, that made sense. Sorta. For Jeanie.
Except, no, Jeanie’s problem is jealousy. This still does not address that.

“I don’t think Jeanie was thinking particularly clearly when she did this.”
Probably as close to an explanation as we can expect, although I have to say I don’t see much evidence that Jeanie ever thinks all that clearly.
Uh, one of Roger’s two reallies in frames two and three can be deleted. Doesn’t feel right in my mouth to read both of them.
And Roge? No, not really.
Hmmm, that’s a really good point. I’ll fix it immediately.
Down, Rodge…
I know I shouldn’t read too much into it, but is there a reason Neil’s not tagged?
Because I’m dumb, and really tired.
That will be fixed momentarily.
mmm what about her necklace?
…And so ends the fanservice.
What did happen to Natalie’s Choker?
Probably the only feminine thing that could be removed quickly and easily. Though even I a man’s robe she is super hot!
And also the 6 inch stilettos she must have removed for the last two panels.
Natalie’s choker is back! I asked CD, and he said its exclusion was a mistake, and asked me to correct it.
Thus, my first ever post of art that I actually drew myself!
Oooh, the sexy is back! Thanks!
Probly lost it in Rogers bed in Vegas what happens in Vegas stays in vegas
Oh boy…Someone slap Rodge over the head for me.
Why is Neil referring to Jean by “his” female alias? Rodge knows about Jean having became a genie now.
Because Jean has been Jeanie long enough that that’s how Neil thinks of her.
There is no Jean anymore. There is only Jeanie, and she’s female.
Jean is still “Jean” to Neil. They seem to have known each other for a long time.
Rodge is the one to worry about. I’m wondering how Caley’s parents can leave their child in the care of such an irresponsible doofus– even Jean seems to have his/her act more together than Rodge.
Let’s also acknowledge that this might be Rudd’s error, not Neil’s.
But that aside, I’m thinking this might be a symptom that Neil’s perception of Jean is starting to shift.
Given recent events (his admiring her exercising) I’d say probably a perspective shift to viewing her as Jeanie. Some families use relatives to babysit because dufus or not their considered safer, also he is an engineer for a major company so they may not realise what he’s really like.
Just as a matter of amusement, Neil’s natural response is to view Jean as Jeanie:
?p=5
?p=22
?p=217
?p=227
Given this, I think it’s not surprising for Neil to jog between Jean and Jeanie.
Jean and Neil were childhood friends back when they use to go to school with each other. So they may have been friends for maybe twenty or so.
Jean’s gone. The genie doesn’t look anything like Jean. To Neil’s perception, he’s dealing with an utterly different person, except for the sociopathy.
This has to be at least 6 week to two months after Jean became Jeanie. A lot has happened. With the Jeanie training, Roger winning the trip and Vegas.
Roger continues to show how dimwitted he is…
I noticed that Natalie did not react or reply to any of Rodge’s dumb comments. Must be used to it.
Or is demonstrating the usual nerd hyperfocus.
If she rewinds her memory and listens to Roger on the playback, she’s going to whack him.
Rodge is one of those friends who keep you wondering why you ever became friends in the first place, even as he’s helping you out, isn’t he?
This is going to get awkward if Araceli and/or Caley find out Natalie is here, dressed like this.
It’ll get worse if they find out Natalie is Neil…
It could get worse if Roger tries to pass Natalie off as his girlfriend before they find out that Neil is actually Natalie.
Roger isn’t Neil’s friend, exactly; they’re coworkers. And Neil’s been specifically tasked with mentoring Roger, who is an incompetent engineer.
Rodge isn’t incompetent, he just has a really short attention span (except with Natalie). He did earn that trip to Vegas, after all.
Roger “earned” that trip to Vegas by proxy from Natalie!
I’m willing to grant he may possibly be competent, but if so, Neil’s even more so.
True on thinking back he didn’t meet Neil till he approached him about all the cute girls he was with did he?
Cali liked to visit Neil place when she use to stay at Roger place. That was one reason that she like to visit Roger, was because she kind of had the hots for Neil. They probably knew each other about two years or so, because of there job, but, it does seam to be fairly casual at best.

Wow. SO Araceli is simultaneously chasing Neil while at the same time, she is trying to set him up in Natalie form with Roger. That has a lot of comedy potential.
That robe has to belong to Rodge. There is so much that deliciously plays with the mind here. I am so anxious to see where you take this.
What I would like to know is why Rodge keeps a women’s bathrobe at his place.
It’s probably more Natalie’s body giving it that shape and it being a man’s robe.
@Senko, in that case I wonder why Neil would wear it like a woman’s robe (right side over left).
I know that blouses button oppositely to shirts, but I have not heard that robes are constructed to open on one side or the other. I can’t even figure out how that would work. A robe is a robe.
Interesting observation anyway, although I think it says more about Natalie (or, of course, the artist) than the robe.
I’m fairly sure robes don’t have a specific side, I know I can fold mine over on the left or right.
The reason I brought it up was that when a woman wears a man’s robe, sometimes she can leave a bit of her scent behind (perfume, etc.). She certainly makes it look different than when he wears it and I think he would notice that. For a smart engineer, Neil, you sure are clueless.
In the next panel…
‘Natilie’: (Pointing at her head) “No! Man brain!”
Rodge: (Pointing at his head) “Sorry. Man brain!”
Natalie: “Your right I understand its a man brain. . .” puts her head in her palms “I just understood Jeanies reaction I think.”
Ever seen Cool Runnings?
Here is an interesting scenario; Natalie says too Rodge “I sure wish this would stop”(referring to being transformed all the time) and back at home Jeanie snaps her fingers and says done and then realizes she has no idea what wish she just granted. Yeah, I can see it happening.

I have never thought of that… there is a chance that is a coincidence in CD’s writing or an actual reason as to why Jean ACTUALLY got the bottle.
The flaw in this theory is that Jean is a terrible genie in almost every way. Guano is indeed a jerk, but he basically just wants Jeannie to follow the rules. Araceli is conniving when it comes to dealing with Jean, but she seems to mostly be interested in doing her job as a genie.
