Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
A former Genie Lord, Kazom is a 3000+ year old Genie who exists in the form of a witch familiar while still serving as a genie to a teenage boy in California.
Considering the number of movies and media that goes back to WWII and Hitler and remarks on Hitler using supernatural means in an attempt to win the war… I’m kind of surprised that people think this is in bad taste.
You can’t ignore history, not should we pretend bad things didn’t happen. You have to learn about it and learn from it.
Heck there is more on tv and movies that makes light of WWII and Hitler… Family guy, American Dad, Heck even the show Grim has WWII references… And it’s not really that insulting… I don’t get why ya’ll are that mad…
I’m pretty sure everybody who got a decent education and upbringing in North America would know the basics about Hitler, whether they paid attention in history or not.
Well i would say that Adolf is a near perfect character for the OH S4! type of thing. a couple “serious” series have hinted that he was not exactly “normal” Sanctuary had him using Abnormals (including Jack from London)
Grimm had him A as a Wolf/Lion Vesson B using an artifact. So him having a neat Bottle is plausible.
The implications are significant.
Maybe most leaders have genies and are engage in massive magical wars which result in the genie’s early death (and thus a change of rulership).
Ok, so before you attempt to conquer the world, you must first figure out where magic comes from and figure out how to recharge yourself. That is standard strategy.
Wait. So there’s no way for Jean to replenish her magic? That’s a WORSE FATE than the Puella Magi have in Madoka Magica, at least they can starve off the reaper with the Grief Seeds they gather. So every time she grants a wish for her master her life is cut just a little bit shorter? That’s horrible! 0-0
There’s a bit of a difference between shaving 20 years off a 100 year lifespan by using magic to change your clothes and shaving 9 hour’s off a 4,000 year lifespan when you try to make Russia tropical. I wonder which is closer here.
Do genies even HAVE spirits, or being spirits unto themselves, when their magic runs out, instead of facing final judgement, they simply, CEASE TO EXIST?
Moslems believe that djinn are creatures of fire and smoke (as opposed to humans, who are creatures of dust); but that both have souls. Judgment Day, so Moslems believe, will see Allah judge each human and each djinni for his/her deeds.
1. Do they passively consume magic to live? (the fact he is a “cat” suggests so)
2. Do they actually generate more magic (or can somehow acquire it) or is every wish basically slashing years off their lifespan? (ideally for a genie would be if they did generate more magic and could pace themselves on magic for a net growth in magic)
> How much choice did Hitler’s Genie have in granting his wishes?
Considering the adoring look she’s giving him, I’d say it was all done willingly.
Besides the comedy of this webcomic would end instantly if both Neil and Jean found out that he could simply order her to do stuff and she’d have to do it.
>Considering the adoring look she’s giving him, I’d say it was all done willingly.
I think that’s in Our Jeanie’s imagination, but it may well be accurate. In any case, keep in mind that Braun did not fall in with the mass murdering monster we know, but a strong, charismatic leader.
From Prof. Wiki “Braun met Hitler in Munich when she was 17 years old [1929, or thereabouts — ref], while she was working as an assistant and model for his personal photographer, and began seeing him often about two years later. She attempted suicide twice during their early relationship. By 1936, she was a part of his household at the Berghof near Berchtesgaden and lived a sheltered life throughout World War II.”
Of course Genie Eva would not have “lived a sheltered life”; she would have been at the center of things. But her attitudes towards Hitler would have formed along with his own, and with those of Germany itself.
I’m guessing that she picked up her Bottle after having fallen in love with Hitler, possibly as part of his tendency to collect occult artifacts.
If there is any tendency at all for genies to fall in love with their masters, Braun would have had no defense, already being in love with him. Upon acquiring him as Master, she would have had no choice in the matter.
On the other hand, Our Jeanie was originally male, and highly skeptical at that. As a movie critic, he would be far more media savvy than Braun, despite her being a photographer; he knows these tropes, and makes his living mocking them. And he’s hetero. He has absolutely no sexual interest in his “master”, and absolutely no interest in having a master at all.
lol world domination jean! DO IT!!!! 😀
Holy shit, that’s actually really dark.
I love it!!!!
Me too, but damn.
A joke too far there, I feel. Perhaps an event that is not still within living memory?
But if CD did a joke about the Battle of Hastings or the Thirty Year War, who would get the joke?
Well, I would. I mean in Doctor Who, when the Master took the name “Harold Saxon” I immediately thought “that’s one in the eye for you then”.
I wouldn’t expect Bruce Wayne’s butler to be any good at baking either.
Yeah, but you’re the exception, not the rule. The jokes need to be understandable to most of the readership.
The fact that Hitler existed, or that he died?

Its been close to 75 years, get over it
Eva is drawn as gray. She should be brown.
Frankly, I’m surprised Gene would catch the reference. I figured he’d have slept through History class.
Remember, the world was black-and-white back then…Color was invented later… (J/K)
Adolph’s girlfriend’s name was Eva Braun. _Braun_ is German for _brown_. I hate it when I have to explain my jokes.
Improve your jokes, then. -_-
I’m pretty sure everybody who got a decent education and upbringing in North America would know the basics about Hitler, whether they paid attention in history or not.
1945 isn’t within living memory for too many people these days. I laughed.

Hey, Nazis were big superstitious nuts. Makes plenty of sense for Hitler to have a genie.
I love the history reference! Not enough people would know enough to make those connections (date and name).
If I had been Hitlrt yjr first thing I would have wished for would have been a replacement testicle. He lost one in WW I
Hitler was a horrible leader. If he had had a genie, I think that Russia would be warmer to say the least.
Maybe Stalin had a Jennie too or the Jynn took efforts to limit Eva’s magic
The implications are significant.

Eva Braun was a hot genie?? WOW!!
When you go back in time, don’t kill Hitler. Read the bulletin.

That’s an interesting tidbit. Thanks.
Well, this explains a lot…
Jack Benny made a comedy referencing concentration camps….during the war! (To Be Or Not To Be)
I thought this was chilling and excellent. Hitler’s fascination with the occult is often used as a springboard for SF and fantasy.
How much choice did Hitler’s Genie have in granting his wishes?
There’s an absolutely fascinating story there, waiting to be told.

I AGREE.
