Ah it’s Bells birthday and Jean can’t be with her today because of the genie secret makes total sense.
They can’t really still be boyfriend/girlfriend technically at this point, Jean and Belle. And not just because of the whole genie gender swap. How long ago now since that djinnication happened and that they’d went on a date or even talk about their relationship at all? Were they ever a serious enough couple to warrant Jean’s vindictive jealousy for Belle’s new boyfriends? Belle seemed to had moved on from Jean at this time with good reason.

It’s kinda like Belle is trying to get ALL the possible options of condiments here. I’m more simpler than that for my coffee: double cream, double almond milk and 2 sweetener.
It’s the mixing of three different fat levels of milk that is the silliest. Given that whole milk is usually just under four percent fat, her order is virtually indistinguishable from ordering it with two-percent instead.
2.15% fat. So, just a touch more fat than found in 2%. So great a burden to have such a discerning palate.
I don’t usually do coffee. If me and my friends drop by a Starbucks or similar coffee shop, I’ll go for a hot chocolate.
Me, too. Coffee is kind of an acquired taste, and somehow, I just never acquired it. But hot chocolate, with a shot of Irish cream = heaven.
Acquired taste? I beg to differ. Ask any retired service member (except for one from one of those tea drinking cultures) if it is acquired or life giving.
Sorry, but the decoffinated caffeine they served me in the military proves it’s an acquired taste.

Four years in Uncle Sammy’s Canoe Club and the only time i drank coffee was when they gave us hot coffee with sugar in the middle of the cold rainy night as we were doing escape and evasion training before i got sne to Cam Ranh Bay in ’69.
It still tasted nasty but with enough sugar in it it halped me fight off pneumonia for one more day.
Almost seven years in the Air Force as an SP standing remote posts I NEVER came to like coffee. It tasted like garbage.
For those of us with ADD, caffeine is a nice bedtime drink, better than warm milk.

She got a latte, which by context I’m assuming comes with some amount of milk mixed in, she’d only specifying that she wants half of that milk to be whole, 1/4 to be 1%, and the rest to be skim
Doing the math, she’d get pretty much the same thing by just having all the milk be 2%
I think that is the joke—her order is needlessly complicated, pedantic, and logic-defying, like a customer who orders a cheeseburger with no cheese and then becomes irate when informed that her order is identical to a hamburger but costs extra.
Is Jeanie going to do the actual work or just magic it up?
Creating that drink magically could significantly reduce her lifespan.

Yeah, but Jeanie still thinks a lot like a human, so even a lifespan of just a couple hundred years is a plus
Not to mention that she currently has all of Blue’s magic, so even squandering it willy nilly, she will probably outlive half the genie population
She’ll just magic it up, and it will be *so good* that Belle will be chasing that dragon for the rest of her life.

It’s Jeanie and Neil from future, isn’t it? The guy is Neil but muscule and Belle specially make THAT long order to make Jeanie angry. The question is why

Most of the “religious prosecution” they “escaped” from is made up, a lot of it was just them getting mad that the rest of society didn’t take things as far as they did, and they actually obtained full religious freedom when they went to the Netherlands about a decade before coming to America
They mostly came to America for economic reasons
Fun Fact: The Pilgrims in the Massachusetts Bay Colony actually outlawed the celebration of Christmas, because it wasn’t Christian enough (The church allowed the pagans to keep many of their traditions as long as they did it while celebrating Christianity, and instead of just making their own version with only Christian stuff, they declared Christmas a pagan holiday and banned it)
Ironically, they practiced their own form of religious persecution. Connecticut and Rhode Islad colonies were formed by dissenters who found it safer and easier to leave Massachusetts.

Jean may not have moved on, but Belle certainly has. It’s Jean’s own fault for not being honest with her.
To Belle’s knowledge, male Jean is engaged to marry “Jeanie Bottle”, as Jeanie publicly declared in “I Dream of Verisimilitude”. Being engaged to another woman is enough reason for Belle to consider their relationship to be over.
I don’t think a cynic like Jean ever loved Belle. It’s either envy or possessiveness.

I’ve waited in line at a coffee shop, and I have overheard this type of order… maybe not quite this involved, but they’re out there.
Of course not, there is only three types of coffee.
Black (also known as café noir)
With Milk (also known as café au lait) and finally
with sugar (also known as café au sucre)
Whatever Jean’s motivation, that expression in the last panel indicates that she has a surprise in mind for Belle and her nameless date.
Sorry, Michael, 2022-2022, but at least you got a name before you disappear from the Jeanieverse forever.

You need a PHD in mixology to manage orders like this. Particularly since it contains more than 100 percent. (Half whole milk, quarter 1%, quarter nonfat, that’s 4 quarters, or 100 percent. And what gives with 3 different grades of milk? Mixing those three particular milk types would give you about 1.75% – if you’re that picky about your cream percentage, you have way too much time on your hands.)

Agreed that the mix is stupid, though. Just get 2% and have almost the exact same result.

All the stuff about “half whole milk” and the rest is just her specifying what she wants the milk part to be (whole milk is 3.25% fat, so based on her ratios, the milk mix will come out to 1.875% milkfat, so really she wants 2% milk, but has to be complicated about it)

It wasn’t exactly stated that they broke up, but Jean ghosted Belle after being changed and she started dating other men.
Why not? Jean hid the fact about the djinnication from her, let her think that he’s working aboard and other than that one time of using Neil to disguise him as her past self to go on a date, Jean hasn’t done the best job of up-keeping their relationship. Why shouldn’t Belle move on to other guys?
Jean isn’t there for Belle, so naturally Belle is going to find someone else.

I’m not sure she’s being possessive, disgusted maybe? As a girl maybe she doesn’t understand what Belle sees in the new guy. Or maybe she’s disgusted with the PDA, or with herself for not telling Belle about what happened.
