I’ve Got a feeling Jean won the lottery ticket with her Magic and split it with Neil.
If she did, then it’s a smarter plan than just poofing money into existence–it circumvents any accusations of counterfeiting or bank fraud that happened in IDOJ when Jeannie(IDOJ) tried creating money for Anthony, and would look legitimate for the purpose of tax reporting.
But what I think Jean is going to do is that she is going to get the idea of going back in time with the foreknowledge of the winning number, in order to buy a winning ticket retroactively, only she ends up going back fifty years instead of five days or something.
Its possible she just poofed up a winning ticket … which is no better then forgery
Guardingdark: Depends on kind of lottery. In the most common lottery with big prizes around here, YOU choose the numbers, fill them in ticket and submit the ticket, then the winning numbers are chosen in supposedly random way. You can’t forge that.
HKMaly: I think that the “forgery” here is due to Jean creating the ticket AFTER the winning numbers are announced, which means that there is no record of the ticket on the computers (assuming that she doesn’t hack the computer records).
That’s actually one of my wishes if the opportunity ever came up: “The next time I play the Lottery, I will get the only winning ticket.”
I figure it’d be safer bending the odds of a random number coming up to 1:1 than having money spontaneously in my bank acct. Less reality-warping as well, I’d expect. 🙂
Less reality-warping, and it protects you from being suspected of foul play as long as you don’t do it too many times, whereas “money from nowhere” would require you to explain to the Internal Revenue Service just how you acquired it.
There are lotteries where you can win with minimal repurcusion. We had one some years back where 4 people won 25 million each, just add yourself in and its 5 people winning 20 million each. None of those 4 would be that impacted and you get 20 million.
If she did, she’s in trouble. Lotteries report their winners to the IRS. Jeanie has no social security number or any other proof of who she is — or even tht she has a right to be in the U.S.
after what happened in the Test Burn Fiasco, Neil and Rodge wanna stay away from NASA till things cool down.
Why? Neither of them were “there” when it happened.
“Over a million” is pretty small for a lottery, these days. Both PowerBall and MegaMillions start at $20 million.
Neil doesn’t need much, he has a genie.
Depending on how much you’ve already got saved, a million could be a Retirement-Level event.
OTOH, even the smallest of the California Lottery’s bi-weekly games starts at around 7 million…
Or in Jeanie’s case get you out of an apartment where your being objectified by a bunch of guys.
Didn’t say that they won the grand prize, just that there was a winning lottery ticket. I could see the second prize being just a million. Does not stand out as much, though that would seem to be more thinking than Jean usually puts into anything.
He specifically said “the jackpot will be split”, and jackpot is the largest prize in a game.

In the 1950’s there were a pair of missile programs. Vanguard 1 and Jupiter 2. Some of those ‘launches’ were spectacular pad failures. That was what I thought the reference was about but then I’m old enough for serious teen lust watching the original show……..
With luck one of the tickets will belong to a complete asshole, so Jean will be morally fine when she poof-swaps it with a formerly losing ticket.

Covid can be dangerous. There is always a risk when you catch any illness. Kid are less likely to have permanent sequel or die from it but few parent will want to gamble on that even if the odds are rather slim. Die from illness is like lottery, it is just one you don’t wanna win. Statistic can be a bitch.
CD Rudd I’m not sur if you’re a mad bastard or if I just came up with the perfect excuse to make Guano my favorite character. But seriously – everyone – go reread part 602 after you read this comment.
And CD for the love of god I’d love a definitive yes or no answer to this theory. Because either this was intentional and ‘no one’ caught it. Or it’s 100% accidental. Either way – please confirm or deny X)
Okay. Now that that’s out of the way:
In part 602 Lahab establishes that Guano is ‘Gay’. Not straight, but ‘Gay’!
By itself this fact isn’t that important. Until you realize… Guano originally faithfully served the Blue Djinn. A ‘male’ character! That Guano could have easily been attracted to. And/or the Blue Djinn could have:
1. Held Guano’s secret over his head and threated to use that knowledge against him.
2. Could have gaslit Guano into believing he was worthless. Making him the man we know today.
3. WAS an abuser of Guano’s!
Dudes! We just read a whole chapter about the Blue Djinn killing people while possessing Jeans body. No way this dude didn’t abuse the hell out of Guano and anyone else serving under him.
So we now have the potential for a character, on the surface seems like a royal pain in the rear. (Gives it a whole new meaning. Haha, am I right Guano?) Until you realize the potential backstory for this character is quite literally a mile deep.
Guano – A character whose gay in an ultra-conservative society. Who served under a man who tried to over through the very society that Guano, himself, probably doesn’t fully believe in. Because they can potentially out, ostracize, and harm gay/lesbian/bisexual (but not transgender when you think about it) individuals just for being who they are. And likely HAVE in the past.
And yet when the chips were down and the full horror of what the Blue Djinn were in plain sight Guano ‘didn’t’ cower before him. TWICE!!!! It might not have been epic, exciting, or majestic but Guano ultimately did the right thing for anyone and everyone. He recognized his role in the events (no matter how big or small they are), looked at the violence it was causing, and stopped it.
And when that same horror returned to take revenge Guano could have returned to the Blue Djinns side. Instead Guano decided to be a full measure by literally ‘forfeiting his life to once again imprison the blue djinn.’
That last statement sounds a bit hyperbolic on the surface. Until you realize the very pit that Guano would have been thrown in contained previous djinn that had rebelled against Haji. Djinn that Guano likely knows. And Djinn that likely blame him for there imprisonment.
If the Blue Djinn wasn’t going to kill him then someone in that Tartarus Pit would have finished the job for the Blue Djinn.
This gives even more weight to Guano’s actions. He knew what would happen to him but was ready to throw his life away if it meant everyone’s safety. Including Araceli’s.
And it gives even more weight Lahab’s statement:
“I’ve decided to endorse your union with Lord Guano.”
This isn’t a punishment for Jean. It’s a ringing endorsement from Lahab, someone who also struggles in Genie Society because of who she is, to Guano. It’s a sign that Lahab has faith in Guano, that she believes he has a chance of changes things for the better.
And it’s master-class storytelling done over the course of 600+ chapters. Truly – if this was CD’s intention from the beginning he should be proud of himself. Because this storyline bubbling beneath the surface is amazing!
But Tl;dr – Guano is amazing. And I will fight anyone who says otherwise.
Edit: I may post this again in another week or 2 just because I really want someone to see this. I’m really curious to know if this was intentional or if this story was stumbled upon.
Okay. I literally recognize I’m in the 1% vocal minority category in writing this… but come on. I’m literally realizing how badass and bats**t crazy this story can become. And am writing this because:
a. I hope the story continues on the trajectory and certain subjects aren’t walked back.
b. Am worried that what little character development certain characters have will be thrown away for cheap laughs.
The latter being Jean and the fact that she can probably overthrow Haji singlehandedly (if she knew how too).
So serious note – The Blue Djinn stole a lot of magic from a lot of different Djinn. And even educated Jean a bit in how to more effectively use her magic to get what she wants. See chapter 483.
Granted it could be argued that the Blue Djinn is more of a schemer. But if so… why power Jean up by stealing the magic of other Djinn? Yes – power herself, or at least the body he/she is in, up. But to what level? Haji levels of power?
If so then Jean probably currently still has that same level of power. Which makes things even more… interesting. But I could only speculate on what the future holds for Jean (chapter 572 & 573). And of course… I could only be speculating on the amount of strength Jean has… Chapter 512.
But in all seriousness… the more I reread the latest chapters the more I realize how much the tone and context of the story has suddenly shifted. It’s quite fascinating really. I’m really looking forward to what comes next.
Beside, being gay, Guano also started out more like a Gilligan type of person and he had to kind of grow into being a Genie Lord person that we know today. So, yes, Guano is kind of a work in progress as to the person that he is today.
Jeanie isn’t vicious or conniving like the Blue Djinn is and she doesn’t think thing through the way that the Blue Djinn does either. Jeanie not even awhere that she has that much power even, which may be a very good thing and keep Jeanie from doing things that she should not do too. But, Jeanie is self absorbed and self centered with her self and she thinks that the world revolves around her and her alone.

At the same time there are elements that are yet to be revealed about Lord Guano.
Did I plan all this with Guano? Yes and No.
Guano is a evolving character like numerous characters in IDoaJB. (This comic has been going on for 11 years, so things will evolve.)
I originally planned Guano to be a character some people would like and some would hate. Depending on how you looked at him. He is noble and honor bound, but ridget and inflexible. He is a Hero amongst Genie kind but has deep secrets.
I’m glad you like how the comic is going so far and finding unique ways to look at the character.

It may not have been all seven numbers for the jackpot. If you get three or more numbers I think you do get a smaller amount. I am not sure how many numbers you actually need. Every time I look I have to decide, I can buy a tickey or a cup of coffee. The coffee wins.
In the Texas Lottery, 5 out of 6 matching numbers is worth only a couple of thousand bucks, where matching all six is worth at least $4million, since the odds of winning go from about one in 25million to one in 90thousand. i think that’s typical.

No, Blue Djinn didn’t restore Rouyaa powers of being a Genie, he only restored her youth to what she was after her Genie powers were stripped from her by Haji or by Haji Order to strip her of her Genie power. Another question is, once the bottle is opened, could Rouyaa go to full size if she doesn’t have her Genie powers to do so? Don’t know!

No one have died OF covid, 2 million have allegedly died WITH covid (meaning they were infected by the time they died but had other prior conditions which was their real killer).
Beyond that, for the first time ever there have been basically no report of influenza doing the flu season, that is because everyone that have influenza are reported as having covid instead. And covid have a 99,6% recovery rate (the final 0,4% again only being these with prior conditions)
Alastir has a point. One public health official said on camera that if someone died from a traffic accident and they found that they had Covid in their system, it was a Covid related death. I’m not sure how long after that statement the official still had a job. However you play with the numbers, though, Covid is very dangerous because it complicates a patient’s already existing condition which does contribute to their death.

Well that is very generous of thee, but perhaps thou can tell us how we are wrong, because the only real danger from covid, is the dangerous and extreme overreaction to covid by the worlds government. How much have the economy suffered? How many jobs have been lost? How many of our civil liberties have we lost? These are all real problems, that causes real damage, and in the end more loss of life than covid itself ever could.
