Jeanie Bottle 301
Sorry for the late post today, folks. Been having some odd computer issues that made editing this page rather frustrating.

First comment! (Sorry, never been able to do that before!)
Congrats on #300, CD!
…Seriously? You had to be THAT guy? …I guess this may be the only opportunity any of us have a chance to actually be first, but still…
Is the Redhead a red herring? I starting to think it’s not the kid and Neil’s Lady problems just got more complicated. (insert dramatic music here)
I wish I knew! But she’s cute, so I just hope we get to see more of her!
I’m focusing on the little carrot-top myself. I bet she’s shy, unassuming, almost child-like. She’s a well meaning but helpless ditz. The guys find themselves helping her all the time. Little do they know. Oh, so very little.
For instance, she has no fear of the detector, because the sad-eyed ceramic kitty-cat on her window sill contains a beamed microwave data link. And her cute little Makarov is already hidden in her office. Hidden so well, not even I know exactly where.
Interesting approach deny the engineers their electronic devices and now we know the name of where they work. Interesting misconceptions available in Rodge saying Neil ran out before breakfast.
I assume that they are going to have storage lockers (or the security guys are going to have a storage space) to deposit their phones when they check in at the workplace. It’s probable that unauthorized internet usage is going to be suspended and outgoing e-mails are going to be recorded as well if the company is so afraid of leaks. The engineers will still have their company-provided computers, but won’t be able to send data to the world outside of the company without being watched. If the company is extra paranoid, they may be monitoring phone calls made with office phones as well, which means that Neil and Rodge might be scrutinized if they say anything odd on the phone from the office.
Also, “Jupiter Two Engineering”–hopefully that doesn’t mean that their Mars rover is going to end up Lost In Space. 😀
I’m now picturing a security guard twitching in his office “They keep getting in!” as Jeanie and Araceli repeatedly poof in to chat to Neil while the building becomes more and more sealed off.
So… what happened with Jean’s job? I presume somebody must have noticed that he’d stopped showing up…
using up his vacation time? and senko they aint denying them, their just not letting any unauthorised ones into the area, so all data stays on site in theory, wonder if they are monitoring emails or uploads to data sites if someone wanted to do some work at home, not good if your addicted to games on your mobile tho heh heh heh
I believe they said Jean worked from home as a reviewer. so his job is mostly online.
Yes, that is correct as to Jean job and he/she works. As long as she continues to submit her review’s on line, nobody will miss him or her in this case or even know that there was a gender change that happened two and a half months ago. There no reason for Jean to change her name to Jeanie either, so they won’t be alerted that Jean is now a female and not a male.
See the Cast page,

Yup, the only issue will be if Jean has to show ID at the bank, since the bank would know Jean as male. Jean seems to be able to magic up phony ID cards and such, but not to be able to alter off-site computer records (probably a result of not knowing WHERE the off-site records are located).
Jeanie can do on line banking without have to use her Genie powers to engage in doing business or pay bill along with shopping also. There are very few places where Jeanie has to show up as Jean to do anything that she has to do and/or she could pass herself off as Jean secretary too, to do his business.
Hmm the past few comics involving Kendra have been about leaks…. She maybe giving information to other countries…..
So, enter Agent Anderson? But, again, AA has not seen Neil as Neil. She will recognize Rodge, though . . .
Jupiter two? A hint of a future crossover story?
It was way down on the poll…
CD did hint that he had already chosen a story line regardless of the poll.
Lost in Space is also in bold in the site poll.
But for me, it’s The Addams Family, which is the crossover I voted for.
The bold text in the polls indicates which ones you voted for.
As for the next potential crossover paraody… I’ve already have it planned out way BEFORE the poll was started. The poll isn’t really an indicator of which crossovers there will be. It’s mainly for me to have a general gauge in what shows you as the readers know.
“…some of our designs have already gotten leaked out to foreign interests.” Or toy manufacturers…
I haven’t voiced my opinion to that Redhead yet, that some of you think might be Caley, but probably isn’t. I am going to give my opinion of who that Redhead is. She the sneak that funneling to that foreign government of to who ever that information is being given to. Because she a secretary located right where those engineers are that will be coming up with those idea for that Mars Rover and will be making those blue prints for that Mars Rover. She would be perfect for trying to seduce or trick them into giving her information. Which is probably what she doing.
Strange how Neil is a bit disappointed he missed ridges cooking breakfast in bed for him
Breakfast at Roger’s apartment. Right right right. I’ve been trying to figure out what that was about.
But I don’t see Neil being disappointed; he’s only agog at the security line.
I am pleased that Roger seamlessly refers to Natalie and Neil as the same person, something he seemed to forget when Natalie showed up at his door. His happy expression suggests to me that in his mind, he’s talking to Natalie not Neil.
I’m wondering when he’s going to suggest that Neil should change into Natalie after work so they can start dating.
Witch brings us back to what Neil natile was warring when she got poffed back home MIT shirt only what happens that night to make Rodge so friendly the next day
Actually nothing happened that night. If anything happened that night, it was in Rodger mind and him mentally undressing Natalie in his mind and doing something to her. Natalie made it pretty clear that she wasn’t going to be doing anything with Rodger that night. But, it doesn’t mean that Rodger not going to fantasizes the way some guys do, like Jean does too.
@Larry:
“Happened”, perhaps, in the limited sense of Natalie showing up at his door in fetish gear. I don’t think it’s sunk in on Rodger that Neil does not become Natalie voluntarily, or choose her costumes.
But yeah: Natalie being interested in Rodger is entirely a product of Rodger’s testicular imagination.
The bit about no outside electronic or storage devices is not new to this household. My wife works for Lockheed & I used to beta test for a computer game company. She still can’t take a cell phone to work & almost got in trouble once for bringing an iPod, with only earbuds to attach thereto. Of course, both companies use Microsoft products so there goes all of THAT security.
Actually, M$’s has long since been dethroned as the least secure company by Adobe (Flash) and Oracle (Java). Six of the top 10 worst security beaches of 2013 were from those two, and only two were from M$.
Yeah, Lockheed has been known to use those other two also. It seems that when it comes to security vs cost they’ll go for low cost over high security.
The resolution should not be ‘not bringing devices to work’ but instead implementing a technology solution to disable USB storage devices.
Where’s that “like” button?
Huh. Finally, an update! ^_^
Yes Neil, a very long day indeed…
Robert [or CD], since the delay was due to problems with the editing computer, not art, does that mean we’ll get the next strip on the regular Tuesday schedule, instead of waiting a week after this one?
(And I’m sorry to hear about those problems. I swear, I’d almost rather be sick myself than have my Other Head get a cold.)
You gotta remember, I ussually make comics on the weekend. I try to pump out 3x Sun.org and 1x JBottle every weekend. I sent them to Robert, who edits and posts them.
Occationally (like last weekend) I have other things to do. So I make what I can and catch up on the evenings. Sometimes I can’t even get those 4 comics done.
Sun.org generally updates Mon, Wed, and Fri. JeanieBottle updates Tuesday or Thrusday (sometimes both those Tuesday and Thursday if I get ahead).
And a heads up, I will be making less comics in the upcoming months as I’ll be preparing for specilized training i’ll be envolved in April.
Bewared, Be Thee Says, I.
Fewer comics? Sigh. I understand the need for training, though. Still, can I make the humble plea to cut back SS first, since any cutback on JB means nothing?
Whatever the case, thanks for giving us Jeanie in the first place, however often you can.
Robert/CD:
Last frame: “designs secrets” should be “design secrets”, yes?
And “gotten leaked out” should be either “been leaked” or “leaked out”.
Barring questions of whether or Rodger uses incorrect grammar when he speaks, of course.
I was really sleepy while I was editing this one. I think it’s supposed to be “design’s secrets”. But you’re right about the “leaked” line. That’s just wrong. I’ll fix it.
Personally, I think it sucks a lot of the personality out of the comic to have things like “gotten leaked out” corrected. “designs secrets” is worth fixing though.
Oh, gosh! Jeanie (or Aracelli) can poof in with a flash drive and poof out again! Sell it to rival companies and…
Wait. Jeanie can give Neil all the wealth he needs.
But he doesn’t need much. Except perhaps a loving female companion. Oh, and children underfoot.
It’s not paranoid if they really ARE out to get you!
