I tried to post both images into the same page, but the site sneered at my most valiant attempts to do so.

Grrr…government keeping me from enjoying grand canyon and now my favorite comic strip.
Oh man, that blows! I was just at the Grand Canyon in April, and it was amazing!
HA! FREAKING LOVE IT! Political satire is always fun. Unless it’s not.
Love the bottom left panel. I wish I could get my eyes to do that.
the last panel in the real comic, stargate reference anyone?
Just how large is her bladder, anyway?
She’s in Vegas, how do you know she isn’t doing what the gamblers do?
Also, in the alternate strip, I love Jeanie’s Air Force blue cap. Cute as a button.
I agree! I love a woman in uniform, and Jeanie looks fabulous in hers. Can’t wait to see more of her in it!
It’s O’Neill. 2 L’s. ^_^
O’Neill? What O’Neill do you mean?
Stargate reference
The one that’s going to say something about a secret government program where a team goes to different planets through a giant ring
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jack_O%27Neill
There’s an O’Neil with 1 L who has no personality
i spell it o’KNEEL!
love, general zod
I like it.
“O’KNEEL BEFORE ZOD!” :p
Well, that escalated quickly. From “lack of birth certificate or employment history” to “accused terrorist.” Wow.
I know this is all fiction, and a comic. I realize this is being done for dramatic and/or comedic purposes. But this still pings high on my unlikely-o-meter.
Foreign spy seems more likely than terrorist to me.
America is obsessed with terrorism. Unreasonably so.
From the point of view of this American, I can totally see this happening.
Definitely. Only part that’s been left out is they haven’t accused her of being Muslim or a Tea Party member yet.
It’s Jeanie who is most often seen in attire associated with Muslim societies. And djinni are _real_, at least according to the Koran, so it is blasphemous for a Muslim to question their existence.
I have to wonder why the “HLS police” didn’t seize Roger as an associate of a suspected terrorist; he’d been spending every evening with her for weeks.
The US has a rightful concern with _preventing_ terrorist acts. There have been quite a few convictions in the past few years of individuals and groups attempting to carry out destructive acts in the US. Meanwhile, overseas, scores to hundreds of people die _every week_ in bombings, burnings, and shootings. Many over doctrinal differences dating back thirteen centuries. The _whole world_ should be obsessed with terrorism. Until it stops.
It isn’t gunna stop Tramline. What terrorism is today is what guerrilla warfare was from the industrial revolution until Vietnam. And it’s what banditry and piracy were before the industrial revolution. Whether it’s for money, religion, politics or perverted fun, it’s pretty much the same type of people. Only now, technology allows for the easier creation of homemade bombs and destructive weapons. While Islam has the only truly organized terrorist sects that we know of, any individual or group can easily engage in it, because it doesn’t take all that much to make something that can hurt a lot of people.
With all do respect, from 1914 to1918 us good Christians, killed other good Christians at the rate of 10,000,000, and you should read on how the British force in the 1830’s Opium to the Chinese.
I am pretty well aware of that, sir, along with the brutality of the Spanish conquests, the British-Indian Mutiny of 1857, the Crusades in the middle ages and many other events. Like I said, cruelty has always existed, and I never once claimed that Christians have any historical moral superiority. But make sure when trying to make examples that you keep in mind the difference between war and terrorism.
The lines between war and terrorism become blurred, when a government use it to achieve its goals.
Vietnam was proxy war between the United States and the Soviet Union.
I could probably carry on this discussion for a long time, mate. I think we probably should leave at that and instead make bets on how long it’ll be before Jean TG’s Rodger. 😉
I agree, this is a kick back, fun comic web site, it must be ESP as I was thinking the same thing my self. That last word on this subject is “Party on Duds.”
Rodger should be in an Army uniform. (I could never understand how an Army Engineer got to be an astronaut.)
Yeah, the first three groups of astronauts in the real world were all active or former military pilots (either test pilots or combat pilots). Tony Nelson and Roger Heeley were active during the Mercury program (Tony’s flight in the pilot episode being a Mercury flight), which means that they would have been in either the first or second groups selected.
Oh crap they actually got Macguyver/Richard Dean Anderson on board to lead this plan, this should be as fun as a barrel of monkeys!
Macguyver to the rescue!
No, O’Neill to the rescue. 😉
“Employeement”? …I guess no one ever took you up on that proof reader job? :/
Also, nice joke. 😛 I was just getting ready to say “good job” for boycotting the government shutdown, and I was just about to come to my senses and say “wait, no, that’s stupid”, when I saw the “JUST KIDDING!” Nice. 😛
The last four panels were just wonderful. Her eye-crossing is hilarious, and her smiles in the last three panels are great. The last one is so wonderfully derpy.
I took that job months ago, but I missed that particular error. It’s now fixed.
Thanks for being an ass about it, though. Keeps me on my toes. </sarcasm>
Are you being sarcastic about thanking me, or about calling me an ass? :<
For a minute I thought the GOP had ruined this comic along with everything else 😉
That’s funny, I was going to say the same thing about the President and the Dems.
And I’ll take the opportunity to blame all of them. 😛
lol, i love the different expressions, especially the last couple XD
Funny what the administration decides is essential and non-essential, isn’t it?
Yep. The so called “Government shutdown” is really a joke, since half the things stay open anyway. If it were a real shutdown, people would feel it. Right now it’s just a political ploy.
Hundreds of thousands of people are not working right now, and you claim it’s “not a real shutdown”?
It’s only a partial shutdown and they even call it that. We all know there’ll be a deal in a few days and all will return to normal. These people aren’t losing their jobs, and they won’t go broke from a few days off of work. Unlike all the private sector workers who have *lost* their jobs the last 7 – 8 years and have gone broke.
This whole thing is being blown out of proportion. When it ends, it will be quickly forgotten.
BTW, If I seem unreasonably argumentative, I apologize. Nasty trait I got from my mom. I tend to have difficulty resisting the urge to argue or opine about things.
Now let’s see how far the Bavarian Fire Drill gets them. http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/BavarianFireDrill
You should have had Natalie making shadow puppets on the wall behind her. I would so do that in that situation. 🙂
The perfect tribute to are grandiose dysfunctional government with delusional grander belief in themselves.
Both pages are amazing. There’s no way to put it without it coming out wrong (not my best day finding the right words to use).
And all this time I though government employees were on a continuous coffee break.
As a person who works for unemployment I can say yes, they are just on a continuous coffee break. 😉
nice censoring job on the last panel of the joke comic. we all know what shes doing there lol
By comparing that panel to the previous ones, you can clear see that both of Natalie’s hands are still on the table, despite the text box obscuring most of them.
so why the facial expression of eyes rolled back and mouth hanging open?
Sure, but where are her fingers? 😉
And she’s missing the talk!
