Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
Maybe Roger doesn’t know the difference, and he’s speaking it with the wrong spelling? It could be a quirky character trait, rather than a typo. You never know! 🙂
For the comic to reflect the original series, someone else has to know about Jean being a genie. i.e. There needs to be a *Roger* Healey to go with Niel’s Anthony Nelson. So my bet is on Niel spilling it, or Roger figuring it out. Eventually.
I snarfed on this one…seriously…my neighbors prolly think I’m some kinda lunatic laffin at 5:30 in the morning!!!
And well…Neil kinda ASKED fer this, tryin ta pimp Jean off to his boss…so this situation has it’s merits, as Neil tries to avoid becoming his boss’s new girlfriend. Serves him right, really, no matter how nice a guy he is, he earned this one.
Hm. I don’t think this is Jean being an ass so much as Jean being an angry woman. I mean seriously, ‘she looks like she comes from the 50s?’ I think this time it’s not Jean’s ass-ishness (did I just coin a word?) as it is her feminine vanity geting piqued. I don’t think I know any girl who would appreciate that comment…
Having said that, she needs to work on her impulse control. Neil didn’t do anything to deserve this…
Jean bailed?
Maybe she’s nearby watching.
Maybe she’ll join them for dinner.
That would work. The three of them have a nice
evening then Jean and Neil leave together.
Problem solved!
I think the reason for the switch besides being insaulted was also to give him the girl he wanted. The only reason why he agreed to the date in the first place was so that his friend would not get fired/free trip. Plus this is not a date with his boss, but a co-worker, who is blackmailing Neil.
Jeannie finds out Neil lied a bit. He said Roger had requested a date with Jeannie, but in reality Roger was happy for any one of the 3 he saw. So, I’m thinking this is a little payback for that, and the ’50s look comment probably pushed it over the top.
How adorable would it be if Neil had to start dating his boss and his boss would tell him about what he wanted to do to him when he was a guy not realizing he is the girl he’s been dating :3
Why blame Neil? When Roger asked for a date with one of those girls he’d seen in Neil’s cubicle (or wherever), Jeannie was the only one around. Araceli is still in a bottle in a shipping crate. And was Neil going to volunteer to be *poof*ed? It probably wouldn’t even have occurred to him. The idea didn’t occur to Jean(nie) until she overhears Roger thinking out loud, clearly.
As for Jean(nie) sticking around to watch…well, I doubt it. She’s probably back in the apartment, making popcorn, and watching a video. Not even thinking about Neil; Jean(nie) never thinks about anyone but herself. It’s not punishment for Neil; he was just a convenient way to get out of something she didn’t want to do, never mind the consequences for him–and ultimately for her. Meanwhile, hilarity ensues.
Somehow, I knew Neil would end up with the short end of the stick! 😀
Glad to see “Babe”-Neil make a return appearance! 🙂
I can think of several ways this could go from here, but I’m not sure which one CD Rudd will use.
P.S. CD, I suggest you look up the difference between “cubical” and “cubicle”.
Maybe Roger doesn’t know the difference, and he’s speaking it with the wrong spelling? It could be a quirky character trait, rather than a typo. You never know! 🙂
Considering CD Rudd’s track record with spelling and grammar, I am rather doubtful of that.
The two words are homonyms, so how could he speak the wrong one?
That’s the joke! 🙂
He he. Gotta love it. XD
Called it last episode. I am so psychic.
Now my ESP has to recuperate before I use it again.
Hell yeah! I’ve been wanting to see more of “Nell” for ages!
I look forward to seeing Neil either trying to play along or else trying to convince Roger that she’s really his male co-worker.

ok this will be very interesting conversation…lol
I told you guys Jean’s an ass all over, and this proves it. *facepalm*
Guess Jean doesn’t like being on the receiving end of this kind of attitude for a change… No, sir, does not like it at all!
Poor Neil.
Yep, you called it. Kudos!

@CD – Awesome, just Awesome!!!
I’m pretty sure Roger is just a coworker. Neil’s boss is the Skeletor looking dude that was talking about the Vegas trip a few strips back.

ROFL!!
Love it
Oh, damn, we should have all seen this from a mile away. I love it!
Best part? Jean might not have even done it if her date hadn’t insulted her so.
Always fun to see girl Neil, though I was thinking that the boss was going to be poof’d into a girl. In any event CD keep up the great work.

Well the “brunette” undressing in Niel’s cubicle was literally hot.

Perfect!
Awesome. I kinda wish Neil would stay a girl more often.
Am I the only one that noticed that the green dress was cute? 🙂
Jean has good taste, that’s for sure.

Probably she was just standing there listening till that comment and her expression in that panel is a mite annoyed.
Yup, I think you’re probably right.
Really nice dress design in that last panel!

That’s not his boss that’s a co-worker.
What ever. it would still work.
The worst part of all this, he already paid his bus fare before he got poof-ed.
…or the best part of it, depending on how much of an ass he is currently.
Oops.
I meant “…how much of an ass you think he is being currently…”
I find this current plot twist so interesting I keep coming back here, but I know there wont be an update >.<
There will be an update this Thursday.
:O Yay! Have you ever considered making Sailor Sun the once a week comic and this one the three times a week? :3
Or maybe making them both 2 times a week.
I often wonder what kind of underwear Jean wears and what kinda underwear she dresses all these tg’ed ladies in :3
Did Jennie just solve are transportation problems?
Huh… Jean starting a transportation service… but her fee is YOUR GENDER! Hehehe.
Then a round trip is free, and you’re back to normal.
