Jeanie

Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office. On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.

I fail to see the logic because if it worked like this no Jeanie wishes would be able to effect anything due to them being created in an event.

nice excuse though(please find a new one like perhaps later on it is revealed that he tried to mentally but his instincts stopped him.)

I see it more as “You can’t wish for this because it would undo your first wish (wishing for the key)”

Which tells me that if this was the FIRST wish made, it would have worked, but maybe I’m thinking too hard into it (or not thinking hard enough?)

you could probably just as easily say “You can’t use Wish B to alter Event A, since the event leading to Wish B would no longer exist”, but Rudd decided to overcomplicate it a bit for some reason.

Or even more simply: You’re not allowed to change history.

Even something unrelated to the Djinn-ification creates a paradox. For example:

Bottle-holder: “I wish Adolf Hitler had gotten accepted into that art school and never pursued a career in any sort military or political capacity.”

Djinni “Granted. Your first wish to historically pacify Hitler is granted. He was at best a marginally successful artist and died poor and unknown. Virtually no one who didn’t know him personally has ever heard his name.
          What’s your 2nd wish?”

Bottle-holder: “Wait a minute! Who the hell is Adolph Hitler and why did I waste a wish on him?”

Djinni: “Sorry, I don’t know either. Some forgotten early 20th century European painter, apparently.”
