    Andy sees something… or someone

Either that, or Rouyaa moved so fast that he couldn’t keep up with her.

Maybe he’s just realizing how garish 60’s interior design really is.

I actually like it! It suited the times! Crazy things happening that changed the world. New ways of thinking being absorbed. People evolved!

Oh, and plenty of good acid!

I keep things that the background was just the inside of a bottle, but now I think it is much worse, it is the wallpaper of their house. My eyes, oh lord my eyes! I may never unsee this.

Hahahah. Sadly, that is period-accurate wallpaper. The 60s were WEIRD.

That kind of wallpaper was actually pretty extreme even for the time. The sort of thing you would have found in the high-rise condo of a “hip” actor or something. Most ordinary people didn’t try to go for the height of trendy fashion.

When you have a genie decorating, why would a little thing like cost matter

      • Kattgirl
        August 30, 2016, 1:53 pm | # | Reply

@Vimmy: I wasn’t talking about the price, but the taste in decor. Most people don’t immediately jump on the latest trend when decorating. Only a few hipsters do that. Most folks tend to stick with styles they’re familiar with, and change things slowly. Notice that Rouyaa’s not tricked out in tie-dye and love beads, but in a somewhat-conservative dress, probably a knit.

        August 30, 2016, 10:47 pm | # | Reply

Wow, if you consider Rouyaa’s dress only “somewhat” conservative, I can’t imagine what you consider fully conservative.

@Robert: From looking at JB #384: it’s above the knee, and very form-fitting; pretty typical style for 1968, I’d say. Considering that floor-length granny skirts were “in” at the time among some of the hippie crowd, yeah; it’s kind of mid-range; casual but not particularly conservative.

Very similar to THIS dress: [LINK]

You have to remember, this was about 50 YEARS AGO. Standards were different. And if you look at the image above, it’s not exactly 19th-century. What are you thinking, hoopskirts?

@Robert: Here’s conservative for you: [LINK]

And that’s actually a CURRENT fashion. Everything old is new again.

I hadn’t realized that we’d actually seen the length of Rouyaa’s dress. I was kindof assuming that it was floor length. Though you’re right about it being too form-fitting to be considered fully conservative in the 60s. I hadn’t considered that angle.

I think Andy noticed that she still has her fez on her head. I guess it doesn’t count as “clothing” so when she changes her dress, she forgets it, and it stays.

Or maybe he just heard the ‘poof’.

I have a feeling that he’s gonna wonder what she’s been up to.

If you look closely, there’s two poofs. Andy might have noticed that.

Well, he’s looking in the direction of the two poofs, but he’s pointing at the fez.

I see this as the nervous-tugging-on-the-tie thing that you see in old comedies. Though clearly Sid knows about genies, so why Andy would be worried about him seeing genie happenings does not make sense.

@Ranck: I think Andy’s not nervous about Sid at all, but nervous about what Rouyaa may have been doing in his absence. The fez is a tip-off that she’s been working magic again.

Of course, maybe she redecorated while he was out, and he hasn’t seen the Mod Squad wallpaper before. That would certainly account for his stunned expression. šŸ˜‰

Yeah, it does look like he noticed something amiss. Maybe that extra poof. Or the fact that when there is a poof, something weird just happened, or is about to happen!

And I kinda dig that wallpaper actually! Its the 60s man! Dig it! Different sense of style. Imagine what someone back then would think of today’s styles. heck, just ask anyone from that era! I’ll take that before anything new any day!

“Hi, honey, I’m home, and I’ve brought an unexpected guest!” Good thing she wasn’t trying out a new outfit with Saran Wrap and a rose between her teeth…

That would have been FUNNY! Of course, it would have only lasted long enough for a pink POOF to put her in Army fatigues or something.

But then, if it had been Jean, both the guys would be blind.

I much prefer OriahEhontas’s suggestion. Not least because that’s *exactly* what Jean would do.

Hey, I’m with you there. Although I do wish that Jean would grow a brain at some point. S/he acts more like 13 than 23.

Yes you may have a point there Kattgirl

“Hey, I’m with you there. Although I do wish that Jean would grow a brain at some point. S/he acts more like 13 than 23.”

What make even worse than that, at 13 years of age, it almost like she coming in at the middle of move after pay to see the movie at the box office. She also not fully women or a man or child of either sex. Like her elevator doesn’t go all the way to the top or as they say, she missing a few cards from her deck or she got a few bricks mission from her load.

But, as you say, that Jean or should I say Jeanie and we like her for being that way.

Have her grow a brain. Why?

      • Kattgirl
        September 2, 2016, 3:40 am | # | Reply

        @Larry:

You know, thinking about it, it’s not really a deficit of brains that I find annoying; it’s the total lack of consideration for others. Araceli isn’t Einstein, either, but she’s concerned about Neil, Caley, and even a bit about Jean (she warned her about sneezing away her magic and told her how to stop it, which she didn’t have to.) Rouyaa also cares a great deal about people. Whereas Jean only thinks about Jean.

So it’s really the immaturity that’s the problem. She IS fun to watch, though. Like a train wreck.

Well… I remember my early 20s… So I can not fault him with being a bit self absorbed. And spacey, and dopey….

And, well being turned into a genie, and a gender swap to boot, might not have helped things either!

I think I know what Andy is looking at, or towards. Guano teleported out, with the TV.

Well, it could also be two strangers that teleported in, one looking similar to Rouyaa but with blond hair.
