Jeanie

Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office. On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.

    Why would Jean need money?

Also what’s wrong with Neil? He’s never seen born? He’s like in his 20’s o.o

      • I'm not watching it either

He sure has seen porn, but not watched it (much), or done a comprehensive study of it, like Jean has (for his review business, of course).

To some people, sex is merely a boring sublimation of the math drive.

I’m 24 and I don’t look at porn. And I’m not religious either so there.

Then again even I know of the naughty librarian trope…

Then again again I wouldn’t have thought of it…

Can’t say I’ve heard of the librarian trope. Granted, I don’t watch porn vids, but I do look at pornish pics.

I’m in my thirties and I’ve not watched much either, I like my movies to have a decent plot.

Actually, I’m pretty sure Neil was being sarcastic, what with the sarcastic-looking expression and all.

The funny thing about the cliched “porn stereotypes” like the sexy librarian, the pizza delivery guy opens the door to a sexy MILF who’d rather pay with something other than cash, etc, etc
…You actually rarely see these in any modern porn. In fact, even a porn vid bothering to set up a scenario or plot at all is rarer now.
You see these “classic porn scenarios” more in other media making fun of the trope than in actual porn (if at all… honestly I don’t think I’ve ever seen either of those myself).

I thought sex WAS the old fashioned way to make money.

    • Hippo
      April 2, 2013, 2:38 am | # | Reply

For girls and women, yes. For men, the old fashioned way was to join the army and kill some enemies.

I thought it was going out and risking life and limb to come back with a chunk of mammoth.

And the men’s way was a lot more respectable.

        @Rock

It was also your job to defend the tribe against all enemies, be it dangerous animals or competition from other tribes. Back then, the hunter was a warrior too.

Um. Neil? What Jean suggested actually is an old-fashioned way. Like, an extremely old-fashioned way! ^^; Related to one of the oldest known professions, see?

Have you heard the old joke about how “begging” is the world’s oldest profession?
Reply: I thought it was prostitution.
Punchline: Someone had to ask for it.

“It’s been said that politics is the second oldest profession. I have learned that it bears a striking resemblance to the first.” – Ronald Reagan

        April 3, 2013, 2:51 am | # | Reply

I think that’s probably an insult to a significant part of the world’s prostitutes.

      • Hippo
        April 3, 2013, 2:52 am | # | Reply

Now I ask: Does Reagan’s insight on the oldest profession base on personal experience?

        April 3, 2013, 11:41 am | # | Reply

        @Rock: LOL

@Hippo: Dunno… but I’m sure Bill Clinton has insight into both. XD

But in all seriousness, my opinion is that those are two (politics and prostitution) of the lowest professions in existance. The absolute lowest of course is sex-slaver… with which no fiend can hope to compare. But I better get off my rant podium before this starts looking ugly. lol 😉

@Ty294: Unfortunately there is something worse: Kidnapping children and making them into soldiers. For a fictional but realistic portrayal of this, watch the anime ‘Now and Then, Here and There’. I started to research this for real-world examples. I would recommend not doing that.

The old fashioned way… isn’t prostitution the oldest business in the world?

    • Historian
      April 2, 2013, 5:15 am | # | Reply

In monetary terms, money-lending and exchanging is the oldest profession in the world. Either way, it is screwing people in some way.
As for old-fashioned, everything old is new again.
Remember when sex was dirty and the air was clean?
      (Neither do I.)

Actually many archaeologists and anthropologists agree that either being a shoemaker or tanner may have been the worlds oldest profession…

Technically, advertising would be the oldest business in the world. Before they could “sell” it, they had to “advertise” it now didn’t they?

        I don’t think word-of-mouth advertising counts as a profession.

Dose this mean we won’t see the movie “Neal dose the Dewey Decimal System” soon???

You’ll have to excuse the spelling telling here, but I grew up in a medical family and “dose” is an amount of medicine given. The word which you want is “does.” a variant of the verb “to do.” or a plural of female deer.

Getting that one wrong sort of sets me on an edge I’m unhappy with, along with “their,” “there,” and “they’re.”

Maybe it’s not smoke? Maybe it’s an odor, like “Ode du Jeannie.” I imagine it as smelling like cotton candy.

I find myself vaguely amused by how stereotypically female Nellys reactions are here, a slightly annoyed no to watching porn followed by a bemusrd expression as Jeannie goes off on how great it is.

Keep in mind that Jean was suggesting getting Neil *involved* in porn. This could be something relatively “small”, such as a website advertising a nonexistent film, but this is Jean we’re talking about. Would you trust him in these circumstances? Can you blame Neil for being wary?

Okay. Jean has no sympathy or concern for others.
