A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
Sir Ni, your knights have been running amok without you!
They- they even chose to change their sacred cry!
Instead of uttering the power of your fearsome name, now they say “‘Ecky-ecky-ecky-ecky-pikang-zoop-boing-goodem-zu-owly-zhiv”!
It’s horrible!
Please you must do something!
I have no idea whether CD intends to wrap up this strip soon, or else continue it for forty more years. But let me just say that whenever this strip goes “off the air,” I would like to see Neil with Araceli, and acting strong and confident at work, NOT caught back into the dysfunctional relationship with Jean. For that matter, a suitable place for Jean to end up would be with Melvin, forceably humbled on a daily basis.
Thankfully, while this strip is intentionally based on IDOJ, the simile goes only so far. Here, there are no Suits from Network who decree, “Neil has to wind up with Jean, because Jean is the star of the show.” For one thing, there’s nobody out there who can override CD’s creative decisions; for another thing, Jean isn’t the focus of the strip, Neil is.
Hopefully, when Neil comes home in Strip 97, he’ll discover Araceli naked and eager to grant non-official, bedroom-type wishes. It’s about time the guy caught a break.
Oh come now!
That’s just wrong!
If that was a dog he would have left her food, water and a place to ‘go’.
Something wacky will happen and he’ll have to come back.
I think that he will come back in a few hours and find a rather odd situation. Either that or we get some humor as she tries to figure out the TV.

Don’t leave poor Araceli like that, you dolt! She needs love and companionship, not TV!
Still loving the story. XD Can’t wait to see what happens when he comes back.
Anyone else notice that Neil and Araceli have similar hair cuts?
