So…I’m betting a good genie, pleased to have a new master. She might actually be able to explain things to Neal, help Jeanie, possibly intervene with LSH.
Except, of course, that would wrap the comic in about five strips.
So…How jealous is Jeanie going to be?
This one says she was free. Free from a bad master?
Is this the summons Jeanie should have read?
And may I say, since I live with a cat, if you are cute, and roll on you back on my floor, I will rub your tummy. Fair warning.
I believe it is a new message. It seems to of appeared in the first panel. Jean’s life does seem to have gotten more complicated. I wonder how she will react to that? It could not happen to a more deserving Genie.
I sense a “competition” is in store to see who can best serve the “master” and get to stay! This will surely push Jean WAY out of his/her comfort zone! I don’t think s/he’ll be quite prepared to do what has to be done to “win” by matching Blue “service” for “service!” 🙂
If Neil is Blue’s new master, he might be a better master for her than for Jeanie because
1) He doesn’t think of her as a guy in disguise
2) She doesn’t resent having a master, and
3) He’s actually read the manual.
Urk. Sudden thought: Why would The Powers That Be assign Neil two consecutive genies? Perhaps Jeanie was never supposed to be Neil’s genie.
I believe (or better say I hope) this genie will transform Nell to some interesting creatures (not a slug, please!!!) and Jeanie will have to come to the rescue.
By the way, does this genie have full powers or reduced ones for having remained with a former master? I guess she more powerful than Jeanie making things more difficult to her.
I’m trying to figure out why Neil deserves two genies — and all I can get is that Jeanie wasn’t supposed to be for Neil. That, and possibly Jean becoming Jeanie, were accidental.
Though I do admit that seeing somebody like Jean turned into a typical Bottle Jenie does have its appeal I mean there are not many so deserving of such a fate as Jean
I JUST noticed, in the first panel the new blue genie says ”thats a nice bottle” meaning she never saw it before, meaning she didn’t trick Gene into replacing her to get away from duties.
Is it a bad symptom that I hear the “That’s a nice bottle!” line in the cute female version of the “Wow, that’s a low price!” voice on the office supply ad?
The other odd thing about this is that, apparently, not all genie bottles are equally nice.
How did Jeanie, a very reluctant, possibly accidental, new draftee rate a nice bottle?
Oh, and I think this will be about post 34, which I think makes this one of the most commented on strips so far.
Oh yeah! Most commented strip till now, growing fan base + mysteries = commentazia
Also I can’t wait till the next comic to see, or get a hint about, who’s hypothesis was right!
That wouldn’t make things weird at all! But I guess that would be a bit too much seeing as how the storylines has progressed untill now. Though you still make a good point, it might be true!
In some ways that make a bit of sense in an organizational form. Perhaps the Jynn believe that a Genie giving up some of her powers to serve one Mater deserves a helper. Of course they never counted on Jean being the superior.
She looks kind of young for a genie.
Yeah, yeah… Over a thousand years old, but she looks like a teenager.
I’d say her first master if she hadn’t said ‘new master’.
Sooo…. That’s not HER bottle? Hhmm…an interesting “wrinkle!”

Assuming that the bottle is Jeanie’s, it suggests that Jeanie was assigned to a new master.
Not that any jinks of any altitude could possibly ensue from this, of course…

Maybe she’s just the answer to the question of what he’ll do if he “needs a genie” while Jeanie is gone? She’s the substitute genie?
Like a substitute teacher?
She’s a loaner like when a car is serviced?
Yes, that’s what I’m thinking
something tells me that she is going to be “EEEEEKKKKK”ing a lot
You’ve got that right lol

How is it that I can comment, but I can’t vote in the Blue Genie poll? Or is there a trick to poll-voting that I don’t know?
What happens when you can’t vote? Missing buttons? Error message? Entry ignored?
*blush*
Never mind, I figured it out.
This genie has no cap.
Because she’s not a trainee?
“That’s a nice bottle.”
Yeah, I’m told that some people even dream of it.
Meh, Mine’s better. It’s about THRICE the size of that one!
You know what they say — it’s not how big it is that matters, it’s what you do with it. 😉

I have a bad feeling that Neil is her new master?
“Neil is her new master?”
Yeah several of us think that.
I’m trying to figure out why Neil deserves two genies — and all I can get is that Jeanie wasn’t supposed to be for Neil. That, and possibly Jean becoming Jeanie, were accidental.
love her :3 in panel 2!
Mreow! Is she gonna start purring or something? ’cause THAT would be kinky!
CR: Be sure to use the obvious gag when she meets Neil.
Oops….
I meant CD.
Jean got replaced lol. let the fun begin.
Wonder how Gene is going to like the training and if he’ll come back as a properly trained little genie
God I hope not. Can you emagine a more boring strip if Gene became a proper bottle genie?
Though I do admit that seeing somebody like Jean turned into a typical Bottle Jenie does have its appeal I mean there are not many so deserving of such a fate as Jean
So i guess he gets a temp genie… or perhaps a permanent switch, far as everyone is concerned. 😛 One who probably came from Genie training herself.
1. So is the blue genie free from a bad master, or free from being stuck in her bottle for a century for being disobedient? Or something else?
2. So where’s _her_ bottle then?
3. From Lord Guano’s example, djinni can be male or female. Why did Jean get the distaff treatment? There’s something going on there…
4. There was a blue genie in a couple of stories at The Wotch. I wonder…
5. From her expression, “EEEEKKKK” is not an exclamation of dismay (as in ‘Eek a mouse”).
6. She’s not as voluptuous as Jean. Might figure in the plot developments…
Obviously it was a female genie bottle. Or something. So obviously only a female djinni would be in it. Maybe. 🙂
I JUST noticed, in the first panel the new blue genie says ”thats a nice bottle” meaning she never saw it before, meaning she didn’t trick Gene into replacing her to get away from duties.
So more kudos to the replacement idea!

(i hope its mine)
She may just be a tranining genie for Neal, sent there to train Neal how to be a true Master for Gene.
OMFG!
I just realized:
Blue’s new master is…
Jean!
He was supposed to find the bottle, but not until it was provisioned with a genie!
Yeah, yeah, probably not. I know.
But it came to me like a bolt of lightning.
That wouldn’t make things weird at all! But I guess that would be a bit too much seeing as how the storylines has progressed untill now. Though you still make a good point, it might be true!

They make every genie look like a barely legal girl because noone want to watch some flabby old lady in those clothes.
Also perverts.
