Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
Yep, same clothes and hair, and same air of grace and poise.
At first I thought that Jean’s message turned her into miss Klutz, but it seems to not be so.
BTW: is Natalie back to himself, again?
I was reading the Wibbly Wobbly arc again and verified the guys’ ages. Page 645 states unequivocally that Jean will find the bottle five years after prom. 18 at graduation, plus 5 years, plus one more for their adventures. No more than 24-25 tops.
That is not Kudzu, and I have that evil plant in my yard. I was out their yesterday fighting it and I’ll be out there again today fighting it some more before it fully wakes up from its winter sleep. All you can do is try to keep it from taking over completely.
When Jean went into the ladies room her head only came up to the shoulder of the figure in the sign on the wall. When she came out her head was taller the the sign.
My likely to be dashed hope is it was Natalie texting her that she was back from the trip but that she and Rodge decided to [insert date activity of your choice here] and that she and Neil shouldn’t wait up for her. (That might happen if while they were off panel, Caley had Araceli “restore” things back to what Caley thought was the pre-trip normal and so the three adults remember neither that Araceli is a genie nor that they had all been transformed by genie magic. Whether they forget that genies actually exist would further complicate things but wouldn’t be essential for both Rodge and Nat to forget she’s actually Neil.)
Well, it could be anything and did the towel girl knows something about Hajis.
yea she got to be a djinn.
likely one lord shit sent down to spy on her
33 % right
“Sweet Haji” thats not Jahan is it?
Who’s the new girl?
I believe she’s the splatstick girl from the last page of the last story.
Yep, same clothes and hair, and same air of grace and poise.
At first I thought that Jean’s message turned her into miss Klutz, but it seems to not be so.
BTW: is Natalie back to himself, again?
Clothes and hair color are the same, so that seems likely.
I was going to say that this meant it was the same day as the boat trip. But then, this is a comic.
The hair and clothes are very different, but she SOUNDS LIKE Alya, who is described as “energetic, cheerful, and eager to please.”
I think they are referring to the girl on the dock who spilled the ice cream, not Alya.
I meant that this mystery girl’s hair color and clothing differs from the picture of Alya on the “Cast” page.
Could it be Nif, detailed in the story by Shadowrnnr? CD okayed the background story for Nif, the ice-cream girl.
I agree, that is ice cream girl. And it makes sense, she was a klutz on the dock and she’s a klutz here.
Nif.check out Fan fic page under Shadowrnnr.
Nif, not many readers here.
That is the ice cream girl from the dock
So Jeannie’s going on a date with a high schooler? Sounds a bit like robbing the cradle.
If she looks and acts like a teen herself, is she really robbing the cradle? Still, why IS she pretending to be a high schooler?
My guess: Jean considers high school to be his “glory days” and is trying to relive it, though as a girl this time.
Shades of Matthew McConaughey. (“I keep getting older but they keep staying the same age…”)
I think Jeanie liked the taste of high school life that she got in the last story, and she wants more of it.
It certainly did seem better for her the second time around. Of course, being a genie helped, too.
If she keeps dating only people of same age, humans will soon get of-limit to her. I mean soon relative to how long genies live.
I don’t know, Jeannie is pretty young, herself. (21? 22?) so there might be only 2-3 years difference.
Besides, she acts so immature, that the high schooler might as well be the older one.
Jeanie told Melvin that she was 23 years old, and that was “last year” within the story timeline.
I was reading the Wibbly Wobbly arc again and verified the guys’ ages. Page 645 states unequivocally that Jean will find the bottle five years after prom. 18 at graduation, plus 5 years, plus one more for their adventures. No more than 24-25 tops.
Likely a reminder that Natalie has returned home and needs to go back to work. I see Jeane is adjusting her age to play volleyball.
Did Jean ‘shrink’ or something? Why is the foliage behind her so big?
(shh we don’t call out the artist!)
Must be that crazy Florida Kudzu I’ve heard about.
That is not Kudzu, and I have that evil plant in my yard. I was out their yesterday fighting it and I’ll be out there again today fighting it some more before it fully wakes up from its winter sleep. All you can do is try to keep it from taking over completely.
All your topsoil are belong to us!
–THE Kudzu.
Ain’t that the bloody truth.
Speaking about Kudzu … https://leifandthorn.com/comic/campaign-season/
It’s probably Elephant Ear (Colocasia esculenta). In a tropical climate, the leaves can be several feet across. Touristy places put them everywhere.
There’s no way to say how tall the vegetation is. It might be 15 feet high, who knows?
Practicing the art of quick-change by genie magic?
When Jean went into the ladies room her head only came up to the shoulder of the figure in the sign on the wall. When she came out her head was taller the the sign.
Yes, her teenager disguise is shorter than her usual stature.
Heels?
I assumed that was just perspective; she was closer in Panel 4 than in Panel 3.
But also, her hairstyle changed. Ponytail was longer when she came out. So yeah, there must have been a ‘poof’ in there.
Freckles! I knew it! I wonder if she’s related to an ancient fairy of lore.
You don’t get credit for not losing it if was ever a poor away
Only ever a poof away. Sheesh.
It probably says she has to find ice cream girl and train her as a new genie. And find Natalie and turn her back into Neil.
I’m thinking that maybe only half of that is true.
I like the way you think!
Love the banner. May the fourth be with you.
I don’t like his chances once the check clears.
Are you able to see Jabba’s face? I’ve tried refreshing, using ctl-f5, opened a different browser and all I see are up to his arms.
I used “open image in new tab”, and Jabba’s face is not part of the image (either already cropped out or not even drawn in the first place).
It might not be Jabba at all, it could be a certain current president of a country on Earth. :p
(Too political?)
It could be Pizza the Hutt.
Sweet ‘Haji’ Gum-Balls??? – Hmmm
With an outfit like that, Jabba, Jabba is there?”
