A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
Seconding this guess, IMHO he moved the boat out of range. Also, regarding Jeanie … maybe she will actually meet him home after they get out of this problem on their own?
Soooo, if you start a wave with magic, then the magic stops, the water would presumably fall back into the ocean, possibly creating a swell, which might push the boat anyway.
Or the wave is stuck in mid-air, held by another magical source?
Or the whole thing is magically wiped out of existence and we’re left with calm seas?
And I hear my daughter’s voice telling me, there you go, trying to bring reality into a fantasy and spoiling the suspension of disbelief.
Actually, I looked again at panel 4. The skies were losing their dark clouds and returning to blue. No one else on board is shown at an odd angle. So, everything is returned to calm seas, it appears.
Jeanie could arrive and screw things up, but she could arrive with an older, powerful, wiser, and very intelligent genie in tow. Lahab, whose new life’s work is to train and smarten Jeanie up.
Interesting cutting off the magic stopped the wave but Natalie’s still a tween while the other two are still adults. Wondering if they’ll return to normal or not.
The rational part of my mind thinks that the waves pushed the boat out of range of the chest, but my knowledge of reruns is telling me that Gilligan somehow tripped over and broke the totem that was keeping their pocket universe connected to ours.
If Jeannie or Araceli can’t fix the age thing, will they all end up living at Neil’s house with Jeanie in charge and Lahab acting as the wise old grandma?
I think Lahab could see this as an ideal learning experience for Jeannie to manage three preteens and a pair of hormonal late teen/ young 20-year-olds. I could see Jeannie’s genie friends poofing in to help out and complicate her life. Sounds like bewitched.
Guess his connection to Araceli got caught off. But is Araceli alright?
Here’s my thoughts:
Either he accidently shifted the boat away from whatever was draining Araceli’s power.
Or it somehow ran out of juice.
It looks like and old spar from the ship that carried the chest moved in the current, thus blocking the connection with the boat.
I’m thinking ragged sails on the old spar.
Luckily the relic had a cool-down timer.
The meter ran out. Time to shove another handful of quarters into the slot.
I think that outline in the background of the chest is ment to be a person. I think someone stopped the magic from the chest some
I’m guessing that it’s seaweed that is moving with the motion of the waves above.
Ran out of gas?
Huh, so the relic that sucked the magic out of Araceli isn’t owned by the wizard?
Well, at least it’s convenient. XD
His massive wave moved the boat away from the chest. Time for Jeanie to show up and mess thing up.

Push the boat, yes, smash it upon the island, no.

Man, what a bummer.
Hey, who was that barely noticible man/fish/ink-spill/thing? Sam? Was that you?
I think that’s seaweed, because it was also visible on page 797.
Awww. 🙁
Interesting cutting off the magic stopped the wave but Natalie’s still a tween while the other two are still adults. Wondering if they’ll return to normal or not.
Perhaps those effects were from a different source, i.e. a different genie?
The rational part of my mind thinks that the waves pushed the boat out of range of the chest, but my knowledge of reruns is telling me that Gilligan somehow tripped over and broke the totem that was keeping their pocket universe connected to ours.
I think I called the possession.
It isn’t a possession if Fake Neil was constructed using magic.
Fake people have limited magic content, I think Fake Neil ran out of gas.
So will evil Neil just fade away, like the wave, or will he go into politics?
If Jeannie or Araceli can’t fix the age thing, will they all end up living at Neil’s house with Jeanie in charge and Lahab acting as the wise old grandma?
That would be funny.

Will Prince Charming Neil have to duel Evil Neil? On the beach with swords or paint pellet guns.
I’m pretty sure those are the same Neil, actually.
You never know. Aracelli may figure you can’t have enough Neil.
