Asha is a genie who lives in LA, masquerading as a human Pop Star. Since her last master died before asking for his final wish, and being buried with Asha's Bottle. Haji has granted Asha the ability to stay in the human world without returning to her bottle.
Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
In her role as Haji's First, Lahab leads Haji's Harem. She is a Jann genie, one of the few elementals left in the world. She and Kazom are "old friends".
“Look Guano. You don’t want her here, the Genie Lords don’t want her here, she doesn’t want to be here… how about we just send her back to her master and make us all happier?”
Although I’m expecting her to not go alone. I’m betting Ifta is being sent to keep an eye on her; maybe Alya and Shula too. And there might be a chance that Araceli will be sticking around too. So there’ll probably be a lot more genies hanging around Neil.
Also, given the long lifespan of genies, they are more willing to put things off for a few years.
Given the premise that Jeanie screwed up with her magic, the idea that she needs more practice/training time with a human master might strike Guano as a good idea.
Also, the other four of what? Princesses, Genie Lords?
Based on the context Asha is saying there are four other genies in her territory besides Jeanie. Aracelli is one, I imagine we’re going to meet the other three. Can’t say if that includes Rouyaa after the blue Djinn restored her genie powers.
I doubt Rouyaa is one of the four. Blue didn’t restore her power; he just restored her youth and stuck her inside a non-totem bottle. That contradicts how genies operate: when created/born, they enter a totem, and when the totem is destroyed, they die (as demonstrated on page 488), and Jeanie is now the resident of the bottle. How Rouyaa continues to survive isn’t explained.
Lahab wants her here, because Jeanie is both too powerful and irresponsible to be left to her own devices. And yet, there is still a chance of turning her into an asset.
Or Natalie, depending on how the situation on the boat is resolved. With Jeanie returning to her human, Araceli will probably go back to being Caley’s genie, which would probably mean any wishes that Caley makes to fix things would be granted. But given Caley (1) didn’t want the (once and future) adults to know Araceli is a genie, (2) doesn’t know Natalue and Rodge already knew Araceli is a genie, and (3) has no idea at this time that Natalie is actually Neil, Caley could inadvertently cause major changes without anyone on the boat realizing it.
It could create some interesting situations.
“Natalie, you’re cool, the way you know all that smart stuff and fixed that motor. I wish you were my sister.”
Some observations:
“Whose fault is it that I’m a genie Lord?” Guano’s, he offered it earlier, and now he’s picked you (or Haji did at Guano’s suggestion).
“The other four combined…” suggests that only four other bottle genies are on the loose in North America.
I am curious as to who Guano is actually referring to? If he is referring to Jeanie, that is fine and all, but if he is referring to Asha, she is effectively being written out of the story as her master is buried six feet under and has her bottle in his coffin with him.
Oh and Robert, you have Andy and not Asha in the character section just below the comic.
Refer to Asha’s character blurb in the character section, (you will need to go back to the previous comic as she is missing on this one). On it, it says the last Haji granted her the power to not need to return to her bottle since it is buried with her current/former master.
I notice an ellipsis at the end of Guano’s sentence, so there may be additional conditions or something revealed next page, which Jeanie will be much less enthusiastic about.
Why isn’t Guano being called “Haji” now? Haji is a title, not the name of the previous leader. I wasn’t sure if it was a title. (In reality it is; in reality it’s what any Muslim who completed the Haj can be called) But I went back to the beginning of the arc and checked. (Isn’t it amazing that this story arc began in 2023? I guess that’s what one comic a week except for Christmas week will do.) Guano is said to become the “next Haji.” So why aren’t at least some people referring to him as Haji now, since that’s what the previous one was called? I’m sure many family members called the current Commonwealth monarch’s grandfather “Bertie,” even when he was officially George VI, but many others, especially outside the family, did not. Maybe everyone who called the last leader Haji and the current leader Guano is either family or friend—though Lahab clearly is family; maybe she just speaks more formally—but it does strike me as odd.
I don’t know about other people, but I have to right click on the image and click “open image in new tab” to see the whole pic. Firefox is cutting the top of her head and her legs off.
So “Mom” is still in charge. (Lahab being Haji’s first wife and Guanno being Haji’s protege and successor, and Guanno’s real Mom being banished, Lahab could be a Mom surrogate.)
“Beverly Hills mansion”?? That’s a pretty odd boast for Asha to make to another genie. First, since genie law specifically forbids a genie from owning anything, (the mansion is her master’s) and secondly, since Jeannie can instantly poof up a mansion of her own, any time she wants, making it a pretty meaningless gesture. Asha is really grasping at straws to try to snub Jeannie, here.
Interesting observation. Obviously, Haji gave her special dispensation to “own” the mansion based on his decision to allow her to remain uncommitted to a Master (Asha is a senior genie who resides in LA by masquerading as a human pop star.). It’s also possible that Asha doesn’t “own” the mansion, per se. It might be owned by a corporation controlling the pop star’s assets.
Maybe her life as a famous pop star is influencing her behavior even amongst genies? I can *totally* seeing her being catty like that to other women she meets in her Christina Aguilera persona.
But getting into a pissing contest with another cosmic creature, (who is just as powerful if not more) by parading mere material wealth, seems pretty absurd. Asha must be losing it.
I was binge-reading “Pixie Rangers”. Lots of mis-spellings, but I’ll only note “By participating in this Teir…”
Since you’re into series 2, shouldn’t the “Completed?” pop-up in the side-bar be removed?
The sidebar on THIS page. Honey: 4th thumbnail down.
Clicking it opens https://www.patreon.com/CDRudd?filters%5Btag%5D=Pixie%20Rangers
Below “Choose your membership” and “Only $2.64/month” it says “Teir”.
(This would be a lot easier if I could insert an image.)
Pixie Ranger strips have more mis-spellings than I can squeeze in here. Not to mention boring all “Jeanie” readers.
I think you’re mistaken about there being any misspellings in the strips themselves. The comic is written in American English, though, so if you’re expecting British spellings, that may be what you’re seeing.
Thanks for your feed back. If you want to provide a list of corrections for us to review, you can send a list to, ‘corrections at jeaniebottle.com’ (replace the ‘ at ‘ with the classic @ (this is to avoid bots from SPAMing this address)).
I’ll make the correction for the Pixie Ranger ‘Completed’ status on the JeanieBottle Site.
As for boring the Jeanie readers… uh…Sorry? (but I’m entertaining all the PR1 and SailorSun.org readers)
“I Wouldn’t Be a Fool” Barbara Eden, 1967. I’m pretty sure for this comic she would have changed the tempo, maybe included a sultry saxophone. https://youtu.be/u5Zz4t_phBY
Well we all knew that Natalie couldn’t stay that way forever, though at some point Jeanie is going to be stuck at the palace full time.
That could still be a couple of centuries off, though.
Indeed. As Lahab explains in https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-601
Less problems for Guano to keep Jean with Neil. So only two genies got nothing from this.
Notice that Guano did not say that HE had decided. LOL
Shula isn’t the only one who knows how to manipulate the kid.
Just in time to really mess up what’s left of the boat trip, too.
“Look Guano. You don’t want her here, the Genie Lords don’t want her here, she doesn’t want to be here… how about we just send her back to her master and make us all happier?”

More training away would be good, especially since she’s not HIS problem anymore.

Not to mention the matter of the baby.
The Four Muskateerettes.
The Status Quo is mightier than palace full of genies.
😉
Which one of them is he speaking to?
Jean, Asha doesn’t have a human master at the moment. You can find out why using her tag.
Guano said “your human master”, not “her human master”. So not Neil.
But he’s talking to Jeannie. So yes, it is Neil.
Or Natalie, depending on how the situation on the boat is resolved. With Jeanie returning to her human, Araceli will probably go back to being Caley’s genie, which would probably mean any wishes that Caley makes to fix things would be granted. You never know, maybe four of them were combined into a corporation. “Genie Industries”.
Panel 3, “Used to” not “Use to.”
If Asha’s bottle is really buried six feet under, where does she sleep at night. a genie has to sleep in her bottle or lamp.
Who says she sleeps? That might explain her attitude.
She sleeps in her bottle. As if she had any problem getting in and out, if the bottle is open she can just teleport anywhere.
Refer to Asha’s character blurb in the character section, (you will need to go back to the previous comic as she is missing on this one). On it, it says the last Haji granted her the power to not need to return to her bottle since it is buried with her current/former master.
It’s been fixed.

Conditions or perhaps time limit?
Lahab came through!
Why isn’t Guano being called “Haji” now? Haji is a title, not the name of the previous leader. I wasn’t sure if it was a title. Haji has not yet stepped down. I believe that Guano is just the officially recognized heir apparent right now.
I think you’ve put the wrong character in the “Ones in the page” section. Unless Andy is wearing the best disguise of all time.
It’s fixed now.
So, for Valentines it’s Jean Rabbit love it.
“I’m not a bad girl, I was just wished that way.”
I don’t know about other people, but I have to right click on the image and click “open image in new tab” to see the whole pic. Firefox is cutting the top of her head and her legs off.
And here I thought it was just me. Now it seems to open normally.
It opens properly for me now after I did the Ctrl+F5 to refresh the page.
When CD first drew and shared this new banner on our Rudd Productiosn slack, I was so enamored. What a sexy-as-hell pic this is!
BTW CD, I love Jessica Jeannie. 🙂
So “Mom” is still in charge. (Lahab being Haji’s first wife and Guanno being Haji’s protege and successor, and Guanno’s real Mom being banished, Lahab could be a Mom surrogate.)
It’s been speculated that Lahab let Shula out of her bottle.
hey cool header, what’s the occasion
Valentines Day.

Yeah, grasping at legal straws.
That might be something it’s possible to get around.
Also, Own need not only indicate possetion. It’s more a term about association.
Maybe her life as a famous pop star is influencing her behavior even amongst genies? I can *totally* seeing her being catty like that to other women she meets in her Christina Aguilera persona.
I could see that.
With mortal women, yes.
But getting into a pissing contest with another cosmic creature, (who is just as powerful if not more) by parading mere material wealth, seems pretty absurd. Asha must be losing it.
By the way, Robert – Panel 3 should be: “You useD to be cool.”
I was binge-reading “Pixie Rangers”. Lots of mis-spellings, but I’ll only note “By participating in this Teir…”

Isn’t it Guano’s fault that Asha’s a lord now? Ah, who cares? Asha and Jeanie don’t like each other.
thank you CD and Robert for that Valentine Banner I wonder what song shes singing.

I was thinking “As time goes by” from Casablanca or something from the “Seekers” OK, I always had a little bit of a crush on Judith.
Just about anything from a Film Noir nightclub scene. Maybe even “It Had To Be You” from A League of Their Own (with more talent, of course).
What Shadow said. It has to be, “Your just too good to be true,” by Thelma in Scooby Doo movie where she dances on the piano
I meant Velma
It couldn’t have happened to a better person.
It couldn’t, so it had to happen to her instead.
Torch Singer Jeanie snuck up on me.
