A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
When they fell asleep last night something came up from what looked like a treasure chest on the bottom of the ocean floor. I’m guessing it was the sorcerer and he took possession of Neil.
I’m thinking it’s more just Araceli’s subconscious mixing in her first impressions of Neil with her current feelings, like how dreams tend to mix’n’match memories and fantasy. The cursed item is still responsible for the current situation, but I don’t think it’s got an actual will of its own.

I was thinking the same thing. “Captain, that boat appears to be in distress and she’s not responding on radio.” That would pretty much guarantee a visit from the Coast Guard.
This is worse than just some magical artifact giving substance to Araceli’s subconscious, it’s an actual sentient being with a plan of its own. Two things…
1: The creature doesn’t know how radios work. Ripping off the microphone doesn’t destroy it; it only prevents you from sending voice messages. He should have just turned it off.
2: Natalie’s psych sems to have regressed to a teenager’s even if she retains her engineer’s knowledge. I can’t imagine Neil listening to N’sync and singing along with the words, let alone boogying to the music in panel 2.
Why Neil/Natalie is bopping to N’Sync is unimportant. She needs to do it more often.
#Girl, put your records on, Tell me your favorite song, You go ahead, let your hair down
Sapphire and faded jeans, I hope you get your dreams, Just go ahead, let your hair down#
I don’t think the mental change needs to be as big as all that.
Neal may have heard the song, and was okay with it, but being female and small she feels more liberated to get into it.
So evil Leil is from the time she thought Neil was a wizard and locked him in the stocks at the Tower of London. That leaves Lily, the man eating plant, yet to show up and a rocket launch.
That’s correct, this all goes back to a page starting on (https://jeaniebottle.com/?comic=jeanie-bottle-97). Araceli thought Neil trapped the people in the small box (TV) on an island. And the evil wizard that Araceli thought Neil was, is given the copy of Neil’s form here.
Her subconscious ideal version of Neil who acts like her knight in shining armor is also the evil wizard version of him from their misunderstanding? The heck?
Are there two Neil’s on the boat now or is Knight in shining armor and evil wizard Neil the same one. I’m waiting for Lily yo show up and eat one of them. Kasom told Jeanie that one Genie could never undo the magic of another Genie so how was Araceli able to turn Natalie (Jeanie’s magic) into a tween?
So for the sake of simplicity as well as since it’s an update-a-day I’ll answer this question.
Basicly Yes, It is difficult to reverse another genie’s magic. But Araceli isn’t changing Natalie back into Neil. She’s making Natalie younger. Also it didn’t work all the way and instead of her being a kid like Rodge and Liam, she got stuck as a pre-teen, which can be chalked up to a magical resistance due to a magic ‘spell’ already on Neil/Natalie.
The Sorcerer was Neil or the magic embodiment of Araceli magic taking human form.

What is the song that Natalie is listening to???
It’s Gonna Be Me, by N’sync. A 90s boyband.
Robert? There’s an error in the MC comic. See comment.

I’ll get that MC issue fixed when I can
Sorry. I tried getting to Discord, a while back, but there was some difficulty, I forget what, now.
Feel free to delete the comment if you like & are able.
Ok, this guy is clearly going to monologue and cackle when he gets found out.
I mean, what other kind of person refers to their plan as an ‘evil scheme’?
Naillig Island? Gillian?
Seems like it might be a corruption of “Gilligan” backwards, made to sound more pronounceable.
If the golem keeps breaking things then Natalie will never get the boat moving again.
So the magic item underwater is taking control of golem Neil? Empty shells don’t have plans, evil or otherwise.
Eep! We have a culprit!
Yup, the Pixie story is bonkers too. A lot of fun.
AHA! I knew there was something off about that Neil.
Not quite yet.
I want you interfering later, when it is more dramatic!
Won’t someone come over and check if they don’t answer the radio?
I was thinking the same thing. “Captain, that boat appears to be in distress and she’s not responding on radio.” That would pretty much guarantee a visit from the Coast Guard.
To be fair, if they would say “yes” it would ALSO guarantee a visit from the Coast Guard.

But, but, it’s so cute!
Also, this is some subtle stuff, C.D. 🙂
Natalie never was a sixteen year old girl. Or was she? Her memories are probably Neil’s and did Neil at sixteen want to bop along with N’Sync? 🙂
Why Neil/Natalie is bopping to N’Sync is unimportant. She needs to do it more often.

…plus the song is sung from a male POV, despite who it is aimed at.
Panel two would make a good filler.

Didn’t see that twist coming.
But it feels weird.
