Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
It looks like she teleported them, with their table and a bit of floor to stand on, into the middle of the water. At best guess, her attempt grabbed everything within several feet of the sugar bowl.
Jeanie, Shula warmed you a human in the body of a genie is like a toddler with nuclear weapons. Maybe asking said toddler to fiddle a little with the buttons was not a good idea after all.
Given that Jeannie never had this problem to begin with (aside from not realising she was granting her own wishes) it seems like being turned into a genie grants you an instinctive control over your magic, compared to being put into the body of an existing genie.
I have a possible solution for the Ifta dilemma.
They take her powers away. They did it to Eva, Rouyaa, and Jehane. Now, in all three cases, a Lord did it, but Jeanie is a Princess and has a lot of power (still).
Once the totem is empty, give it back to her. Kiran’s image of a genie will almost certainly be the one he spent over a century living as.
Jeannie’s magic seems to work on an instinctual or subconscious basis; she doesn’t have to know how to do something, she just imagines it happening and it does.
Now as to whether she will go along with such a scheme, is another matter.
‘Training wheels’ doesn’t feel right as it implies they will come off. It’s more like she has an AI assistant to do all the ‘little things’ like calculate range, and lock on to atoms… something all genies have naturally. She’s unnatural and lacks those faculties. It may not be possible to teach her, any more then most can’t learn quantum physics.
I agree. Early on, Jeanie’s magic was demonstrated to have a form of AI and could and would do things without conscious effort. For example, on page 25, the coffee pot filled itself (just before she turned it on), followed by breakfast appearing on the next page.
Ifta doesn’t appear to have that sort of instinctual control. However, like any other skill, it improves with practice.
What if the totem rejects her? Then you got the political situation of a princess who took the powers away from a very popular genie on top of being a mass murderer … might be tricky then
I guess that would certainly be a pitfall. However, an empty totem requires somebody to fill it, and in all three cases demonstrated in canon, that would be the person who opened it: Jean, Jehane, and genie/Neil.
I admit I’m not the biggest fan of the Gilligans Island plotline. But I’m suddenly optomistic that Neil is about to have a city just fall out of the sky and onto his head.

Well, it’s a start for a first try the sugar diapered from the restraunt.
Can’t believe Christmas is next week.
Yup! And like usual, we’ll have the Christmas Week of Updates this month, too. So look forward to that. 🙂
Sweet the tradition continues.
Awesome!
Are they gonna drift off to an island and meet up with Natalie’s group?
Now bring everything back to where it was. It should be easier than what you just did. Shouldn’t it?
She’s cosmo with no wanda…
Now they’ll get the chance to test out if Kiran/Ifta actually can walk on water.
OMG Ifta what the heck did you do??
It looks like she teleported them, with their table and a bit of floor to stand on, into the middle of the water. At best guess, her attempt grabbed everything within several feet of the sugar bowl.
Well, from the standpoint of the city’s residents, the sugar did disappear. So that’s kind of halfway there.
That’s a good point! Ifta’s success is all a matter of perspective…
Put that back!

Yeah, seems that way. That’s not good…

That might actually work, but none of them will ever think of it.
Of the three, Shula might. She’s been around for a long time and saw all three depowered genies lose their magic.
It could be done, but does Jeanie know how to do it?
Jeannie’s magic seems to work on an instinctual or subconscious basis; she doesn’t have to know how to do something, she just imagines it happening and it does.

Essentially, “Ifta” has to do everything manually, while Jeannie has training wheels.
‘Training wheels’ doesn’t feel right as it implies they will come off. It’s more like she has an AI assistant to do all the ‘little things’ like calculate range, and lock on to atoms… something all genies have naturally. She’s unnatural and lacks those faculties. Altering reality is like ‘any other skill’?
Using magic is a skill, and Jeanie is getting good at it. We have Genie/Neil and The Librarian as examples.
Maybe “Automatic transmission” vs “Manual transmission” is a better comparison.
It might go against the wish to know what it’s like to be a ‘powerful genie’.
I think that bridge has been crossed.
Yeah, she definitely knows, by now. Check that box off.
She knows what it is like to be a genie, but not specifically “powerful” until she can use the powers.
That’s actually a clever solution, without much in the way of obvious pitfalls. (Golf clap!)
What if the totem rejects her? Then you got the political situation of a princess who took the powers away from a very popular genie on top of being a mass murderer … might be tricky then

I do believe she over shot. XD
It could have been worse. I honestly thought she made the entire city vanish around them.
Me too. That is how I understood it.
All we need now is for Jeanie’s bedroom shark to show up.
Hah, that’d be fun!
This might attract attention. Quick, look busy!
So, did she magically nuke the city? Or teleport the group and their table into the sea?
Looks like the latter, tho I did assume the former at first.
I admit I’m not the biggest fan of the Gilligans Island plotline. But I’m suddenly optomistic that Neil is about to have a city just fall out of the sky and onto his head.
Did they forget the Cities name was Sugar?
I’ve been trying to comment no Sailor Sun comics, and I just realized that I can’t, comments are turned off. That’s too bad, but I’ll live.
There’s a Sailorsunorg channel on Discord if you want to make comments.
Yeah, and we’re always happy to welcome new members to the Discord!

Don’t be sorry. I get it. Spam is ubiquitous. 🙂
Try it again Ifta. You will poof to the island and Gilligan can have sugar with his tea.
