Jean AKA Jeannie AKA Jeanie is a film, book, and magazine reviewer for a national magazine. Most of Jean’s work is done through email, which means he doesn't have to go into the office.
On a trip to find a gift for his girlfriend, Jean found an empty Genie Bottle. Upon picking up this bottle, Jean became the bottle’s new genie-powered occupant. Not only was Jean turned into a genie, but the bottle turned him into what he believed a genie of the bottle should look like. Which, due to his fascination with a classic 60s TV show, turned him into a busty blonde woman.
I see that the other three all have matching armbands. In Panel 1, it kind of looks like Jeannie might have one, too, but I wish we had a better view of her left arm.
Unless the plan is to get the judge, court recorder, witnesses, jury, law reference works, stenography equipment and evidence all into the pit, it might be easier to get a lawyer out.
Unless there’s some plot reference that explains what became of Ifta in Kiran’s human body hence why Kiran was left in Ifta’s genie body and bottle for all that time, it wouldn’t be the worst idea to figure out that. If for closure at least for Kiran’s sake. They can time-travel with their powers after all.
You know, that raises an interesting question. Suppose Jeannie went back in time to just before being genie-fied, and preemptively bought the bottle and then restored it to Rouyaa, before returning to the present? Of course, it probably wouldn’t affect our time-traveling Jeannie, but it would leave Past-Jean and Past-Neil unaffected, so it would at least allow her to vicariously see what life would have been like sans the influence of the bottle.
Come to think of it, it would be kind of the JeanieBottle version of “It’s A Wonderful Life”. Maybe CD could do that as a Christmas special???
Jeanie’s expression “walk on water” could be just her using a familiar phrase (at least to her and his/her human upbringing). I suspect if the genies wanted to actually walk on water, they could.
well that is not that difficult to make people think she is Ifta, she have her body, her magic and her mannerism. They are 95% there. If she can only convince herself that she is Ifta it will be a done deal
Well, who saw Jeopardy tonight? If you did, you would know that the Final Jeopardy ‘question’ was “What is I Dream of Jeanie?”. The answer was asking about Jeanie’s bottle and what it was in real life before it was used as a prop on the show.
It was a special Christmas limited edition, Jim Beam whiskey bottle.
Yes. It was originally a 1964 Jim Beam bottle. I have one. Not painted the same way, yet, but…
TV shows have a long history of using common things as unusual props. The “Saurian Brandy” bottle in Star Trek was a repurposed 1964 George Dickel Tennessee Sour Mash Whiskey bottle.
There’s a gal online who makes handmade reproductions of Jeannie’s bottle. So, for just $349.99 plus tax, you can have your own Jeannie bottle. The genie is just a tiny bit extra.
Got my Elf on The Shelf Banner. Very nice. I was going to ask Santa for 0ne inch or powder on Christmas eve and 70 degrees on the 26th. Instead, can I have an Elf like cd’s.
This could seldom work for a while. But Jean be careful cause the Jean on the shelf is watching you.
“Jean on the shelf”, hah. I hadn’t even noticed that connection with the new banner.
Thought that one on the spot.
She is quite lovely!
Santa Jeannie, leave a Lambo’ under the tree…for me…
In panel 4, that’s a remarkably candid admission from Shula. And a very sharp observation from Jeannie.
On the other hand, Jeannie’s look in the new banner isn’t the best. Elf or no elf.
Cute elf! And Jeannie’s idea is sure to result in some sort of shenanigans. 😀
I see that the other three all have matching armbands. In Panel 1, it kind of looks like Jeannie might have one, too, but I wish we had a better view of her left arm.
Right click on the comic and click “open image in a new tab” will bring up a larger version, in that you can tell Jeanie is wearing one as well.
The color changed. On page 823, they were purple; now they’re definitely blue.
“Mood Armbands”?
Ties to Jeanie the blue genie’s magic?
And if it doesn’t work they can all become the genie spice girls!
.. Hm has anyone else noticed every genie is hiding something? Seems in a society of magic an annoying aspect of ones nature is always hidden …
As opposed to the humans, where the annoying aspects are all in your face.
Well, I’ll be darned. That’s actually a good idea.
Provided everyone doesn’t realize she’s not Ifta. Eh, I’ve seen worse plans. XD
Yeah, but usually those worse plans were being hatched by Jeannie.
Maybe being around Guano makes her more intelligent, if only by comparison.
You have a point, there. But even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while.
She’s right—sticking together and covering for one another is in their best interest.
O.K., so, Jeanie’s the brains of this outfit. What could possibly go wrong? Are there lawyer genies? They may need one. 🙂
They’re all in the Pitt of the Damned.
O.K., so she needs a ladder.
I’ve heard of climbing the ladder of success, but I usually thought that was going UP. 😉
Unless the plan is to get the judge, court recorder, witnesses, jury, law reference works, stenography equipment and evidence all into the pit, it might be easier to get a lawyer out.
I’m guessing the answer is yes. It is a good idea given their circumstances. Now can they actually pull it off indefinately?
Indefinitely? No. But they can maintain it until they can get a new ace up their sleeves.
No. Logically it would be best to find the ‘real’ Ifta.
You think the real Ifta would have anything to do with this (to be) train wreck of a harem?
Did you guys read the backstory? You’re about 125 years too late for that solution.
“Let’s do the TIME PLOT Again!”
(From a really funny Trek parody of “Time Warp..”)
Love it!!
Unfortunately she walked into a bullet in a mortal body hence Kiran spending the past century in a bottle.
You’ve forgotten the number one rule of character death: Nobody is dead until you have a body, preferably decapitated. Ifta WILL return.
Unless there’s some plot reference that explains what became of Ifta in Kiran’s human body hence why Kiran was left in Ifta’s genie body and bottle for all that time, it wouldn’t be the worst idea to figure out that. Based on what we saw in the “Wibbly Wobbly” episode, this would create a new timeline.
Can’t they walk on water? Genie powers, you know…
Jeanie’s expression “walk on water” could be just her using a familiar phrase (at least to her and his/her human upbringing). I suspect if the genies wanted to actually walk on water, they could.
Well, the guy I know who did was a guy, and maybe it doesn’t work for female Genies of whatever variety.
Come on Jeannie, the odds of succeeding with a Wacky Hijinks plan like that are…
Jeannie: NEVER tell me the odds!
The odds are probably better than without any plan.
well that is not that difficult to make people think she is Ifta, she have her body, her magic and her mannerism. They are 95% there. If she can only convince herself that she is Ifta it will be a done deal
I wonder if we shall discover that she really is Ifta, I feel there has to be a twist for this character, like some secret we dont know yet.

Tuesday, December 10.
Jeanie actually came up with a good idea.
(Fairly Odd Parents reference)
Jeanie is starting to get a feel for Genie politics.
Humm. I still have the thanksgiving banner.
You have to flush your image cache for this web site. Or apparently, if you’re using Windoze, there’s a key combination to do that.
Ctrl F5
How do I do that on iOS?
I really need to learn how to use this computer.
Hmmm, strange. CD fixed this problem, so you guys shouldn’t be having caching issues any more. The URL for the banner changes for each image, now.

It’s a perfectly Jeanie style plan because it relies on using someone else for her own benefit.
