A junior engineer working for a small engineering firm in Cocoa Beach. The firm focuses mostly on NASA projects.
Neil is Jean’s best friend. When Jean was turned into a genie, Neil became Jeanie’s master.
My first thought was the tutor, but then I checked back: Guano wears purple pants, and I think taking this dominant pose over Neil is entirely in keeping with his character.
If so, massive points to Neil for keeping his cool.
Exactly my thoughts. He’s getting used to this quite fast. Good thing—freaking out over every single inevitable wacky incident wouldn’t be good for his blood pressure.
Well, realistically, it’s probably easier to update a standard strip format like Jeanie, than a full page comic like Sailor Sun. Less real-estate to draw/color and less dialogue to write up.
This comic wouldn’t have a proofreader, it would have a POOFreader…
And Neil certainly shouldn’t be startled by much of anything any more, having had his friend become a genie, being turned into a stripper twice, and spending a day or more chained to a magic bottle. Especially since he, unlike Jean(nie), has most likely actually read the “Care and Feeding” book in its entirety.
And I don’t think Neil is being “wimpy”–I think he is just trying to keep his job as a govt. contractor (something some of us know a bit about). Given Jean(nie)’s powers, he might worry that being too assertive will get him poof-ed back to the strip club again–but this time, already stripped, eh?
It appears the tutor has arrived! And I think everyone is about to get schooled! (First and foremost being the tutor! :D)
Geeze – i think it’s gonna ba a long wait till the next updaTE…

I’m expecting a stereotypical drill sergent genie.
CD: I hope YOU’RE able to update the strip while YOU’RE out of the country.
Have a safe, productive and fun trip!
A little sublimital, aren’t you in YOUR comment. It bothers me too. Where’s the proof reader?
Is this the beginning of a more assertive, less wimpy Neil? I hope so.
My guess is is that neil has gotten use to people just “poofing ” in his apartment. and is just not affected anymore.
Something tells me LBS has returned…

Neil is a genie’s master. That, I think, gives him certain responsibilities, which he has so far been woefully ignoring.
It intrigues me that this genie appeared so as to disturb Neil, not Jeanie; in fact, this manifestation takes place when Jeanie’s not even around.
Whether this is Guano or the “tutor”, Neil’s going to be questioned rather closely, and get lectured rather severely.
When Jeanie comes back, she’s going to find a very different Neil — and I don’t mean Changed.
