I always thought Betty was hotter than Veronica.
Well Rodge did say that Veronica was not his type, so perhaps he is into Big Ethel 🙂
(And yes I know I’m showing my age)
Big Ethel?! Give the really old guy a break, I haven’t really read any Archies since the Sixties, except for that what-if collection where he marries Betty or Veronica. When was there a character named Big Ethel in the Archieverse?
And, yes, Betty’s hotter, as definitively established in Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion.
I also haven’t followed the evolution of the girls’ styles, but the Betty Cooper edition of Jean looks sort of kind of like vintage Nanase Kitsune from El Goonish Shive. Granted, she’s not a redheaded ninja but she’s got the same ponytail and is wearing a heart top.

Well, Betty can cook, but Veronica is rich.
Any sane man would much prefer a girl willing to cook for him over a rich girl. One wants to be his helpmate, the other doesn’t need him at all and only wants him as a toy.
Betty was NICER than Veronica, and as soon as Archie got bit older and his hormones settled down a bit, he’d realize how much difference that makes. Being shouted at and condescended to isn’t any less miserable if the girl is prettier.
(Well, presuming you’re not a complete masochist).

It has already been shown that Roger would be willing to sleep with Natalie even when he know that Natalie is Neal. Natalie is a known quantity where other women are not. All she would have to say. ” I thought you needed a reward for going along with this.” Jean might not even have to say that, just show up.
But the trick isn’t to get Rodge. (Although he is, as I’ve noted, “safe”.)
It’s to show that men are sluts.
And given that Rodge is currently presenting as “Jean”, a known rake, he ‘s a bad example anyway.

Unless Jeanie has the hots for Rodge, especially, and the whole demonstration deal is an excuse for her to get laid.
But no. That just doesn’t seem to be where this is going. No matter what she does, Jeanie’s going to fail.
The problem with Jeanie is that she has a one track mind and even if you derail her, she still has a one track mind and will keep doing what she doing. Jeanie is one of those person that get obsessed with the chase and loses all track of where it going or what the consequences are going to be. She chasing and he retreating and she going to show that she right by gosh or by golly and that just the way it going to be!
Anything past that point, like going to bed with the guy she trying get to his room, it doesn’t even show up on her radar even. She doesn’t think that far ahead, that why she will get into all the messes that she get into. She not thinking about going to bed with a man. She only thinking about proving her point and nothing else.

Other men may not be so biddable once they get her into their room. Jeanie’s taking the safe route.

Both of you guys, give Jeanie more credit than she deserve have or having forethought which she obviously doesn’t have either. You think she thinks thing through the way you guys do and come up with a plan like you do. That not Jeanie MO or method operation, Jeanie just does it without thinking of what going to happen.
Jeanie will do it the same way she always does thing, like when she was going to have sex with Neil, so she could find out why Neil is a better lover, than she was when she was a man. I expect Jeanie to do the same thing here too, before she turn tail and changes course.
Besides if does trick another man to take her to bed, Jeanie is still a Gene and she can turn into pink smoke and disappear in a moments, if she needs too. So there no reason not to mess with another man either.

If “Betty” doesn’t do it for Rodge, Jean can take a page from Tebra and become a freckle-faced redhead wearing a sweater with an “R” on it. 😉
Seriously, “hard ball” sound like a much more overt attempt to seduce Rodge. And if it works, Jean will NEVER be the same.
Tebra? That name sounds awfully familiar, but I can’t recall from where.
I think Tebra is the name of a comic artist who does parodies.
If Jean sticks to cartoon characters there is Emma Frost, Rouge or Jean Grey.
For a non cartoon character, Jean could try becoming one of the Victoria Secret Angels or other famous super models. Versions of Hedi Klum, Claudia Schiffer or Karlie Kloss during their fashion model prime.
Going with the title of this arc, I wonder if Jean will try becoming Natalie. Jean probably figures she could do a convincing Natalie since Natalie is really Neil, and she certainly knows Rodge has the hots for Natalie.
Or, how about Agent Anderson? She might have been that waitress at the party the night before, unnoticed as yet by Jean.
Or, Belle? Jean’s already done Belle, knows Belle (or thinks she knows Belle), and if Rodge actually knows Belle was Jean’s real girlfriend, it gives Jean the chance to double-whammy poor Rodge. And there’s still a chance the real Belle will show up to surprise Jean.
There are a lot more girls to choose from the Archieverse, but it’s safe to say none of them have the comic possibilities of this trio.
Rodge would know better if Natalie show up and he would know that Jeanie doing something, so that out.
Actually, I think we are coming up on the climax of this Arc, which would be the end of this Arc and signal the start of a new Arc.
So I see Jeanie having a problem working her magic on Rodge kind of, when it comes to using female charm on him, so she picks on another guy and then have Belle come in to Jean/Rodge for the finally of this arc.
I wonder what sort of effect seeing “Jean” being hit on by so many girls and turning them all down, will have on the “hussies?” Maybe a newfound respect for someone who has turned over a new leaf and suddenly become desirable?
Jeannie is not going to prove her point by hitting on “Jean,” but it might turn out to his benefit, in a way.
Hard ball? Is that the female equivalent of blue balls?
“Veronica” didn’t work out. Switching to “Betty” mode.
If that doesn’t work, what’s she gonna try next? Midge? Sabrina? Cheryl? Valerie?
